I'm really not into these cars, but man, your work really is fantastically clean and crisp. I really like the details. Great work! Chris

Need advice on selling a collection
crispy replied to Lyn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Lyn, ebay is of course the best place and will probably yield the most dollar wise. I would like for you to check out: http://www.emodelcars.com/index.php This is a site run by Greg(Model Cars magazine owner/editor/website guy). You incur no fees for listing unless you want the added premiums he offers. And even those are cheap at $1.00. It is a auction site similar to ebay but designed for the modeler's by the modeler's. In any event whatever you do I would like to urge you to list a few things there so that you could at least test the waters. Just my opinion. I just wanted to give you another place to sell without fees and payment requirements. Lastly, when do sell them on ebay would you mind letting the gang here know your selling I.D.? I'm sure you'd drum up a little more business this way too. Good Luck. Chris -
Let me guess, not televised? I'd love to even watch some highlights. Thanks for the pics! Chris

Sweet stuff DT! Those are some iconic colors on iconic cars. Wish I could help you in the photo dept. I to am surprised there isn't something floating around. Chris

I'm with a few of you other guys. I'd really like to see some modern subjects. ZR1 CTS-V Solstice Coupe and my list would go on and on. There are three I'm interested in but we'll have to see when they come out and if there's room for them among my Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and the like.. Chris

crispy replied to Len Geisler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It was Eric Cole, but I think he did something different than you are attempting Len, but maybe his pics can help: http://www.opentrackaction.com/acmeforum/s...hread.php?t=632 Chris -
Has anoyone ever....

I thought an ACME member did this with a 70 Monogram Trans Am. Re-painted the decals to match the shaker scoop. Used Tamiya paints. Wish I could remember. I did save his tutorial and printed it out. IF interested I can certainly re-type it here for you. The Trans Am turned out beautiful as did the decals and of course they were a direct match to the shaker. Chris -
Will do Bob. If I do go I'll hopefully bring a couple of my builds. Chris

My own personal opinion, yes, I think it's too tall. But hey, you're building it so make it like you want. You're really moving along on this project. Chris

I plan on going if I have the day off. I know I have Saturday off, but hoping Sunday too. So I'm still in the air and won't know until the week of. Chris

Nice work and beautiful color scheme. These Jeep Honcho's are just plain cool trucks. So much you can do with them. Look forward to seeing you complete yours. I've built one as a kid and have recently gotten another one to build again. If memory serves correct, it was a pretty easy kit to build and fit well. Chris

Beautiful work Mark. That blue looks like it should have been offered from Porsche. The CF work is perfect and I love how it looks under the clear coat. This is my most favorite Porsche. I have two of these kits to build. Thanks for sharing this Mark! Chris

Chris, if you were having problems I certainly cannot see them. It all appears to be coming together in great fashion. Since you are the builder you know the shortcomings none of us see, and that is fine since you will be most critical of your own work. I see a beautiful race car with exceptional CF mastering. The paint looks great and I can only imagine what the clear will do. I've got this kit as well and am too afraid to attempt it just yet. I have yet to master the CF decals. I'm unsure of why I can't seem to get them to do what I want. Yet I am able to apply regular decals with no problems. A mystery for sure. I'm sure as you know, that patience is the key with them. I think I have that part down, just that they need to cooperate. I've been haggling the guys who do exceptional CF work for details, tips and tricks. Have you any to share? I look forward to your RED Ferrari under glass. Nothing wrong with red at all. Keep the updates rolling. Chris

What a beautiful piece! I love all the details. I'm a huge fan of the 1982 Camaro. You did a great job! Very clean build. Chris

Check out my emodelcars auctions!

Time for me to spout off again. The site has topped over 500(536) registered users now! Lots of stuff being bought and sold too. I just wanted to let everyone know I have listed a few more items and will be dropping prices on select items. If you haven't joined yet, why wait. Buying and selling is free with exception to premium offers to the seller. Even then those are very cheap. Way cheaper than eBay for sure. Here is the current auctions on emodelcars. Chris -
That's looking great! Is that a white metal duck or is it resin? Your weathering and build looks fantastic. I can't wait to see it completed. Chris
-
Mark, thanks for taking the time to fill me in on your methods. I enjoy decaling, but CF decals and the obscene curves have me frustrated at times. I'll try your method and see what happens. I definitely need to do the hair dryer trick though. That would really help me I think. Look forward to more updates! Chris
-
I use the tape method too. Although I transfer it to to tracing paper then to the decal. Maybe extra work, but its what works for me. Chris
-
Beautiful work Mark. Look forward to seeing this under glass. Was hoping you could fill me in on how you laid the CF decals own so well. Seems to be my Achilles heel for decaling right now. I've been practicing on small stuff, but would like to learn other methods to see what works for me. Very clean. Chris

Looks great. Your paint work is my favorite. Smooth and clean. Chris

Nice clean work Jeff! Which kit is that? Edit: Fujimi, Duh. Anyway, very nice. Chris

It has definitely been an interesting 3 races for sure. Ferrari with no points is a huge surprise. As for KERS, I am still on the fence about it. I'd really like to know what is going on with the Ferrari's. It appears the reliability has disappeared altogether. It was nice to see Team Red Bull do well. The new kid Buemi looks like he may be one to watch. I certainly hope Ferrari gets it together. All the same it has been fun to wake up in the middle of the night to watch the racing. I look forward to Bahrain. Chris

I'm not a fan of red, but you did a really clean job. The wheels look good too. Nice comeback! Chris
