Krishna, that looks pretty good! Did you spray the red right over the kit plastic? It seems to have a toy-like look when viewing the rear with the bonnet up. If I may add one constructive criticism. If you can, gently pull the clear covers off the front and run either a black sharpie around the edges or semi gloss paint. I think it would really add a bit more realism to the car. Just want to help you out. Otherwise it's a very clean build of an iconic Ferrari. Thanks for sharing. Chris

Brendan, great work on that interior and overall. Quick question on your tire lettering, is that airbrushed or decal? I like the look of over-spray on them. Secondly, Have you got a picture of what the roof bump should look like? Maybe a few more eyes on it can help you decipher what to use or what to make. Chris

Bob, that looks great! Best one I've seen so far. I love your weathering. Adds lots of character to the old girl. Chris

Thanks guys! The kit isn't that rare. I've been watching them on the bay for awhile. I'd say 3 times a month one will pop onto ebay. It's just a matter of what you feel comfortable paying for the kit. Yes, it is a curbside kit. I had a great time building it and would love to do another in red with out the spoiler and do a few different things, but for now I am pretty happy with it. I plan on adding the mirrors to it, which I think will ruin the lines, but I didn't fill the holes for them so I should put them on. One of the changes I would make on the next one. Again, thanks guys. Chris

Good stuff Brendan! Look forward to another one of your fantastic builds. Thanks for the pics too. Chris

Watch out! I'm on a roll here! Testors Maserati Merak SS. After so many Wheels of Italy pictures I had to break down and get this Testors kit. Pretty easy curbside kit, but looks fantastic when finished. I purchased this and started in on it a day or two after receiving it. That's how excited I was to build it. Paint: Cobra Colors Grigio Silverstone Metallic Interior: Tamiya Red/Brown Wheels: Tamiya Light Gunmetal with Testors gold in the centers. Bumpers: Alclad Chrome Tamiya semi gloss black accents with BMF chrome trim. I'm a gaudy type, and added the spoiler, which looks great imo. Couple pics and hope to have better out-door ones tomorrow. Sun setting here and was just catching the last rays. A couple indoor shots too. Just a few more pictures at My Fotki. Chris

I'm with you Bill. Unmistakable! Thanks for sharing the clip Nick, great piece. Chris

Wow, great scratch work! Thanks for sharing with us. I'm on the same page as everyone else, why no Bronco of this era? I'm not a Ford man at all, but that Bronco is one of my most favorite trucks ever. Chris

Thanks Erik. I knew there was some sort of association, just wasn't completely sure how it became. Chris

Bud, AMG is a tuning company that works with Mercedes. IF you are so inclined take a look at this: http://www.mercedes-amg.com/#/home Yeah, saw that bob. I went with the optional wheel kit. We'll see if I like the rims or not. Otherwise I'll have to find something more adequate to throw on there. The Black edition would really be nice. Chris
-
Bud, that would be the Ferrari F60 as was posted in the very first post. That is the car that is running now in F1. The AMG has an option kit as well. Supposed to have engine detail. Chris

My 1/20 scale build: Lindberg Firehawk. I built this as 1 of 10 1997 Hurst Lingenfelter Firebirds. Chris

Ryan that is looking good. Smooth. Chris

Bob, I wondered what your opinion would be. I like it, but after your comments I know why I like it. It reminds me of the 458. I suppose it is flattery isn't it? Shock and Awe it isn't, but I think it looks good. After reading the article Dale linked, I would agree with your assessment. If they wanted to go above and beyond then it shouldn't look like a copy of the 458. Seriously, I thought you'd like it Bob. LOL Shows how much I know! Chris

I dunno, the screens look fine on this end. I know it would help me get back to that kit. Beautiful work on the engine! Now, pull it out and start working on it! Chris

I love the F1, and just a quick glance at this and I love this one too. It's a real shame we haven't gotten anything in styrene of this awesome car. I suspect Fujimi is already rolling on a Ferrari 458 Italia. They, to me, would be the obvious choice to create an all new tool of a McLaren F1 and then this new McLaren MP4-12C. Chris

I've never seen one built either. Paint work on here is my favorite Bill, and well, the wheels too. Great job. Chris
-
That is really slick Cruz! One thing though, it's missing the big block! LOL Great job on that engine too. Chris
-
Nice clean build! First one I've seen built sine its release. Chris

This was my first time to this event. It started just this year, is held at Automotorplex. It's advertised to keep all your play things at a separate location that is monitored. The brochure even mentions it as Man Caves. I could go on and on about the place but it's gorgeous and expensive. Similar to Cars and Coffee that Dave Lindsay goes to, just not as much exotic stuff as California. A lot of everything for everyone. A lot more pictures at MY FOTKI. Chris

These are the type of tutorials I love. Clean bright photos and concise explanations. Keep it up Bill! It'll be nice to follow along and actually see how you work your magic. Chris
-
Is that the one by John Lamm? Has a Giallo 599 on the cover? If not let us know which book! I'd be interested in it. Chris
-
Just finished this one, well it needs a few decals, but it's finished until Sunday. More specifics of the car at my Fotki, just follow the link provided at the bottom. In the paint booth: Only 9 more photos at MY FOTKI

Anyone want to come help my model storage?
crispy replied to Lyn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ya know Lyn, if you were doing this, say, in January, my Minnesota butt would be there in a heartbeat. But we're not and I can't. LOL Have fun, it should be anyway. Anyone there helping her, please note, I am looking for the Revell Premium BMW 850i in either cabrio(Monte Carlo) or hardtop version. Have fun guys! I look forward to seeing the pictures. Chris -
My concept Trans Am based on the Kevin Morgan design
crispy replied to Trans Am Erik's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That is looking really good. Nice job blending the parts together with the subtle differences. I'm digging the engine with exception to the blower part with shaker on top, it looks kind of jimmy rigged. Just my opinion. It will probably look better once you get it in the car and more completed. I'm working on the Jimmy Flintstone piece and probably would have thrown it away if it were mine, but it is being built for a friend who wanted one in his collection. Look forward to the completed model. Chris
