  1. Not only that, but the part that bothers me is that this would be the equivalent me running into somebody who wandered out infront of my Jeep on a dark road and even though the police would probably find me innocent, the next of kin coming after me because I hit the person and possibly because the brakes on Jeeps of that generation kinda suck in the best of circumstances.............
  2. Sounds like Rosemont, I've been behind the scene some there during set up when the HTU I work for was going to run a sales booth on public days and unloading our truck then putting the product on display were about the only things we were allowed to do. Then you had to dodge the 500lb union stewards who were racing around on Cushman motor carts checking to make sure somebody wasn't doing his guys' job, what in reality should have been a 4 hour job took 10 by the time we got back to the store so I could sign out and hop in the Jeep to head home. Granted I will say that I was on the clock that whole time on one of my days off, and ended up sitting around while there for a few hours, but it was more or less a waste of 30 hours of combined labor to do 12-15 hours of work for the store. I swear if you wanted to make a disparaging parody video of unions as a whole, just run film while they set up for a convention in Rosemont.
  3. I just realized something, I'm mentioned to Mom that I'm going that way a few times in the last couple days and she has yet to tell me I need to stop at Country Donuts on the way home
  4. They have a generic booth there with the most basic amount staff to advertise the presence of all of their magazines, but that's about all I've ever seen out of them.
  5. I'm curious too, Round 2, Moebeus, and Pegusus were there last year, but they were the only ones I remember seeing. After the fiasco of the year before where they held the show in Ohio, I think last year's show in this location was a last minute decision and they couldn't get some of the companies in on this show or something along those lines, as it was small and barely worth the drive to Schaumberg from West Chicago for me even though I was only paying for fuel and going on a vendor day.
  6. Seafoam the pet clam........ROFLMAO!!!!!
  7. I'm going Thursday!
  8. Looks like that's an 8' bed that actually has to be made..............must not have been much of a pickup man.............
  9. Her name is Debbie HARRY after all
  10. That's pretty da ged cool!
  11. Well, that would explain why he's smilin'!
  12. Stupid people, juuust stupid people.................... Sorry, I was trying to bore myself to sleep the other day while sick by reading about this new Camry and ran across that on Jalopnik
  13. Oh, and with the Pentastar equipped cars, they can accellerate like muscle cars and will light them up from a dead stop as well as a slow roll in first gear and the drive by wire can be a bit....hair triggerish, there was a guy on YouTube whining on one of the videos for these cars about how they're overpowered by approx. 40-50hp, since he got a ticket for wreckless driving after accidentally lighting'em up in a rental car he had....... Then there is torque steer, if you've ever driven their 80's turbo cars, you should be ok....but you've been warned, it is there and will bite.
  14. It's been dead solid, just have had regular maintenence and a occasional software updates for the various computers done to it so far. I try not to drive it during the winter (283hp and FWD does not inspire confidence in the snow for me like my Jeep's 4wd does), and since the Pentastar is flex fuel and I have fairly easy access to usually well priced E85, that's mostly what it's been fed and it does like the stuff......alot! I do wish they had used better tires with the 18" rims, that I could turn off the stability control (it can get in the way during.......spirited......driving ), and that I had found one with Bluetooth, since Illinois is now a hands free state and it would take some work and money to put the hands free stuff into my car.
  15. My 200 rolled up to this on my way home from work tonight!
  16. My drive to work today.......nuff said.
  17. Had the sister of a friend and co-worker (well, he was technically, my supervisor as well as a friend since grade school) get me the keys to her brother's car when we were doing overnights one year at Toys "R" Us so I could move his car away from where we normally parked to the opposite side of the building. Got to work and did the deed, and he knew something was up because of how we were acting. We just played stupid the whole night then whe we left in the morning we walk out and notice the car missing. He started to panic until he put 2 and 2 together, realizing that's why we had been acting funny. Wasn't pissed at least though. Another time, this same friend and I were working a different Christmas overnight and he always had a pager (pre everybody having a phone days) with voice mail, so his then GF and I had got together and hatched a plan......he HATES country music so I loaned her a Hank Sr. CD and around 1am she called and left one of the songs on his voicemail. Shortly after 1am he runs into the isle I'm stocking and starts swearing about the voicemail she left him. I'm doing my dangedest not to laugh at him to his face the rest of the night. She get's to the store the next morning (she also was a supervisor there) and I left him stewing with her,got into my Dodge Shadow ES turbo coupe, and was doing a little fiddling with something prior to leaving and next thing I know he's pounding on my D/S window and screaming at me something about being in on it the whole time and making it look like his GF was all on her own in this. He scared the carp out of me so bad at first I automatically hit the power switch on the door to roll down the window....forgetting that those switches were on the center console, locking the car's doors instead. I admitted to being involved and drove on home laughing while he walked back into the store swearing even more.
  18. Nothing with anybpossible rage from either party, but it has alot to do with stupidity on the part of the person who walks out onto a some form of motorway dressed like that in those conditions. Ward got out of his car on a dark stretch of track at night in dark clothing and walked towards traffic, I'm just saying a decision on how good or bad of an idea that is could be affected by intoxicants. Would he have done that withouth having an intoxicant in his system, maybe, maybe not, I've seen what I assume sober parents do that with their kids in tow between home and work across a, thankfully, low speed section 4 line highway near work in a wealthy suburb no less and I'm sure if you add something to loosen how tight the standards are on the Good Idea/Bad Idea gauge, this would happen more easily. If this kid was infact stoned on track and got disoriented enough in the spin, he could have seriously thought that getting out of his car to wave down traffic was a good idea, that can be dangerous on any kind of driving surface unless the car is burning, let alone that situation.
  19. I've had a few try and contact me through Facebook.......but I can be awefully hard to find on there, since I've never joined it!
  20. No, but if it helps in making stupid ideas reality............like walking onto a dark road way, in dark clothing, in low visibility conditions, it's not mis-information. I've seen people do that too often while completely sober, but if that intoxicant muffles that little voice saying "Hey Dummy, this'll get us killed, don't do it!", that makes it all the more worse.
  21. Saw what appeared to be a 440 6 Barrel Road Runner running down the road while I checking out a gas station near work that has just started selling E85 (must have been introductory pricing, paid $2.09/gal tonight!!!!!) Kinda surprised me too, it looked more like a restoration or a proper clone vs a Road Runner with a flat black 6 pack/barrel hood.
  22. You know, my Dad is a retired railroader and there were a number of pedestrian or car vs train collisions he was called out to that involved alcohol or other intoxicants and most of the times the driver drove around the gates just as the train was approaching or even drive into the side of a train that's already there! Most of the time they were intoxicated and he thinks some were suicidal and using alcohol as "courage" the railroad as weapon and additional "insurance" money for their families' since the road was always sued for negelegence (couldn't stop the train in time, ect) and then would lose those suits filed against them and have to payup money to the grieving family. Now not only does that cost them money, but if the involved train had perishables and or time sensitive stuff on it, that cost the road money, then having the train upwards of 8 hours late cost them money, having to repair the damage done cost them more money, then even worse, the engineers in the cab get it worse, they get the horrific knowlege that they have killed somebody through no actions of their own...............I'll bet you that there are a number of these folks out there that know exactly how Stewart feels.
  23. Ok, I literally lol'd at that!
