  1. Mater said something that would work well here, "I don't need to know where I'm going, just need to know where I've been." Never hurts to remember how things were done, but improve upon what was to bring it up to today's standards either. A few months back there was an article in HotRod about a vintage show rod called Sylvester, it had been lost for a while, but found in the last year and brought back to modern standards, but kept it's vintage feel and look, much like this AMBR winner was built! Then and Now And the HAMB thread looking for the history on the car; http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=658459
  2. Love the car, not a fan of most reds, but this car looks good in marroon!
  3. I think you've done this one before Harry.
  4. On the right car, I think the look good, like on the above Fords!
  5. What were those door hinges off of? The look like they would work on the Old Chevy/GMC G-Vans and and Dodge/Plymouth B-Vans!
  6. Looking forward to seeing this one redone!
  7. That's interesting, I've heard people comment that Landau Vinyl Tops looked like a Receding Hair Line.......would that mean that this top looks like an Advancing Hair Line
  8. x2, is he sampling the product?
  9. Woke up to this today?! Seems like the most snow we've had all season!
  10. Ah, that was the Riptide Vette too! I remember reading something about the headlights being too small for the car and I guess those pics confirm it.
  11. No jokes to post, did finally get the chance to shoot this today........... Probably should have put it out of it's misery instead to taking this picture though..........
  12. I was talking to Doug about maybe going to a meeting at some point, tricky part will be getting there if it's a work day for me.
  13. Never seen any in the vans we've had that didn't work properly unless they got jammed up with ice or a power lock failure on one that had the motorized doors.......
  14. Well, maybe modern minivans, so long as somebody could figure out how to make the sliders work in scale BTW, love that Lincoln!
  15. Wondered how that little car would look built up, good job!
  16. Isn't that the regular '69 Chevelle kit, just an older issue?
  17. And then there's this new one that AMS posted the other night. I think this one must be the same as in the AMS video, if he wasn't in Vegas on vacation, he must have a new job at AMS!
  18. Apparently there have been some van guys at AMS Performance. BTW, they seem to favor Iron Maiden for these videos
  19. I don't remember on the 1/1, I think the kit is just a curbside or has an LT1 in it as well as the C4's IRS, I can't remember for sure. I think the rest is pretty much all C-1500, just can't remember what all was done to the front end to make it what it was though.
  20. Yup, it was penned by Chip Foose and built by Hot Rods by Boyd for Eddie Van Halen...........IIRC, The model looked about right for Foose's original artwork too Almost forgot, http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2010/02/02/van-halen-hauler-sightings/
  21. Sadly, people really are that stupid Zen, when I was still with Toy's "R" Us we had some guy come in with an AMT Mustang Cobra kit with the 1/1 car on the box painted that special factory flip flop paint, he was pissed that model was molded in primer grey instead of being molded or pre finished in that color and was wanting to return it after opening it and saw it was in the wrong color. Now on the box of that era, it actually says that the model is molded in said grey plastic in black print of grey...... I still occasionally have people want to know if and then why the kit manufacturers don't include paint, tools, and glue with the kits.
  22. It isn't, but the body and interior is pretty close IIRC.
  23. Exactly! If they could have made the car look more like the Stingray Concept/Sideswipe, I would probably be leaving drool stains on it at the Auto Show next month. The production car just leaves a lot to be desired in the roof from the A Pillars back and in the rear bumper cover.
