Kit Help? AMT '69 Chevelle "Ratman"
Joe Handley replied to Tye Brown's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Isn't that the regular '69 Chevelle kit, just an older issue? -
And then there's this new one that AMS posted the other night. I think this one must be the same as in the AMS video, if he wasn't in Vegas on vacation, he must have a new job at AMS!

Apparently there have been some van guys at AMS Performance. BTW, they seem to favor Iron Maiden for these videos

I don't remember on the 1/1, I think the kit is just a curbside or has an LT1 in it as well as the C4's IRS, I can't remember for sure. I think the rest is pretty much all C-1500, just can't remember what all was done to the front end to make it what it was though.

Yup, it was penned by Chip Foose and built by Hot Rods by Boyd for Eddie Van Halen...........IIRC, The model looked about right for Foose's original artwork too Almost forgot, http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2010/02/02/van-halen-hauler-sightings/

1/25 Revell '67 Dodge Coronet- Foose Edition
Joe Handley replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Sadly, people really are that stupid Zen, when I was still with Toy's "R" Us we had some guy come in with an AMT Mustang Cobra kit with the 1/1 car on the box painted that special factory flip flop paint, he was pissed that model was molded in primer grey instead of being molded or pre finished in that color and was wanting to return it after opening it and saw it was in the wrong color. Now on the box of that era, it actually says that the model is molded in said grey plastic in black print of grey...... I still occasionally have people want to know if and then why the kit manufacturers don't include paint, tools, and glue with the kits. -
It isn't, but the body and interior is pretty close IIRC.

Chopping and Raking '33/'34 Ford 3 Windows
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
How do you recommend dealing with the back window? -
Quick and dirty, move the mounting pins closer to the end of the spindles then mount them so that end is closest to the lower arms. That should give the equivalent of a budget boost, anything more will probably require at least cutting loose and repositioning the arms so they're pointed downward some. After that would be to fab up your own arms and spindles for more lift than that.

Thanks! I made the mistake of watching the new ZZ Top video and now I've got the urge to chop the Revell '34 snap kit that's layin' around at home to within an inch of it's life
