  1. That's kinda what I was thinking too, it would almost be like restoring a '32 Ford from a grill shell, a frame, and a vin number with a stack of Brookfield parts, then claiming it all original Ford. I figured that had an played an immense roll in the plane safely landing, especially once I read about the firetrucks not being able to get to it without getting stuck!
  2. I was talking to a customer that flies for United at work today and he heard that there has already been an aircraft restoration shop that claims they can restore the bird to it's former glory Don't ask me how without pretty much building a whole new plane from scratch or finding a different damaged B-17 that needs some of the surviving parts from this one I keep seeing it refered to as a "crash landing", but other than the fire that consumed the plane after it was safely on the ground, there wasn't even a real crash and it looked like a near picture perfect landing (if you follow the tracks in the field behind the plane to where it burned up)!
  3. Can't wait to see this one finished!
  4. Hmmm, I love that you did this John, I've been thinking about trying the same thing with a few different types of their paints on the spoons with different primers and in conjunction with the Model Master and Testors lacquers.
  5. Those had to be absolutely horrible cop cars if they were anything like the Pontiac 6000 Dad had
  6. I just want to know how that rolling freak show is still allowed on the roads, are Ohio's laws even looser than Illinois?
  7. I'll look into that, hopefully we have some of that Tamiya Pearl at work!
  8. I picked up one of the Lil' Yeller School Bus Show Rods at Tuesday Morning on Monday and was going to try and put the Pactra Pearl White over Model Master's Chrysler Yellow 2 Stage Lacquer. Kinda looking for a School Bus Yellow, but with some pearl to it. Is that blue Pactra's Metallic Blue by chance Marc?
  9. Has anybody on here tried to spray Pactra's RC lacquer (their pearl white) over any of the Model Master 2 Stage lacquers on styrene before? I've done it (and almost for that I had ) on a lexan body with some success, but is there anything you guys can think if that might be a problem with shooting it on styrene besides needing to clear the livin' snot out of it afterwards?
  10. Real and just gorgeous!
  11. The cat and muffler for my 1/1 Jeep came in today! Also got a new compressor to keep in my Jeep, the i-Pod is to give an idea of how big it is. And picked these up while I was about too!
  12. If it had Nicole Kidman in it and was shot in Europe., that was already mentioned
  13. That's the one, this actor was the one that played Kirk in the recent Star Trek prequil movie. I'll have to see if there are clips of The General on YouTube tonight. Has anybody ever mentioned the movie "Driver", I'm having a brain fart on that one. It's got a great chase scene between a Trans Am and a supped up C10 stepside.
  14. How did the train chase in that recent movie with Denzel Washington and the guy who played Captain Kirk fair compared to "The General"?
  15. I'm not sure what that looks more like, a Baby Tatra or a Baby Airflow
  16. I have to agree with most of what's been posted, but I'm also kinda surprised that nobody has mentioned "Short Time" with Dabny Coleman too though. I'd post it here, but it's got some questionable language and gestures
  17. Looks good Phil, I'm digging the Bellflower Pipes too!
  18. I've got a 5 gallon Napa airtank that I've added a regulator (probably spent $100 10+ years ago) to and filled with a compressor that plugs into my cigarette lighter (Don't laugh, it worked pretty good on Pactra and Createx paints!) and a a Coleman air compressor and IIRC a 2 gallon airtank (think that was on sale for $59.99)that I haven't had the chance to get rigged up since I need to get the two next to each other and start looking and what I need to do.
  19. That's good to hear, good luck on the rebuild now! BTW, I saw that a Klan group actually protested the WBC at Arlington Cemetery this weekend
  20. Yes, they are radio control, and I think they offered the body with the kits based off their electric 1/10 RS4 "touring sedan" and their "truck" based "Super" as well as selling them as service parts to anybody who wanted them are replacements for the above vehicles or their own non HPI vehicles that were of a similar size.
  21. Yea, sounds like somebody didn't want the hassle of dealing with those "toy cars" and would prefer dealing with the 1/1 "toy cars"
  22. The only Escudo's I'm aware of were the HPI 1/10 and "Super" Escudo bodies for their 1/10 Touring cars and their RS4 MT based "Super Nitro Rally" rally car. Unfortunately that no longer appears to be offered by HPI any more Here's the 1/10 car. and the "Super". And yes, those are actually two different cars
  23. Thanks Aaron, she probably wants it as a keepsake since her Dad served on that one ship (her Mom also worked for Curtis Aircraft as a Riveter )
  24. Thanks Rich, I'll look for those kits at work then, the reason she was asking about that particular ship is that her father served on the USS Coffman during WW2 and was on it when they captured the German U-505 Sub that is now at the Museum of Science and Industry!
