  1. Eeew, Celebritys, that had to suck as a cop car! After that Pontiac 6000 we had, I never trusted another GM FWD car and I'm almost wondering how related those Impala's are the Celebrity and 6000
  2. Ah that's right, I forgot those were still full sized at that point, sorry about that Nick!
  3. Boy that's one ugly little bugger
  4. IIRC those still used Chrysler's Mid Sized "B-Body" platform, so you should be able to use one of AMT's 90's or newer issue Roadrunner/GTX/Cornet R/T or '71 Charger R/T kits just like you would on the older MPC based kits like the Daisey's '74 Roadrunner, Rosco's Cop Car, ect.
  5. Just so any of the Suburban Chicago guys, St. Charles now has an all black, un-marked Dodge Charger police sedan that is right now so new that it's still got the paper plates on it! I saw it stock to assist in a stop initiated by Kane County in front of Zimmerman Ford last Saturday and when the LEDs came on, it was nearly blinding! I also had the chance to talk to a St.C police woman who confirmed (while smiling, sounded like she's driven it already )that they did buy it as a test since Ford is killing the CV's and the Department is hoping that they start buying those instead of the the Impala's...again while smiling
  6. I've been wondering how you drove those cars ever since seeing the first one on YouTube. Are you still using a FM Radio or have you switched to the newer 2.4ghz radios?
  7. Is it me, or does that bubble look more at home on that generation of 'Bird than it does on the SquareBird it comes with
  8. Either that, or he would have one of his own cars there and playing right along with him
  9. Proud .........The old man would be right there with him wanting to have the next go at it
  10. No, it's missing pasty, scrawny guys with fangs and a bunch of hairball jocks
  11. I have seen Suburbans and Tahoes like that around here in the Chicago Burbs, especially since Obama has been elected, more so when he and the family are back for a visit.
  12. I think Dave's talking about Hot Topic, those tend to have a pretty heavy Goth theme to them, might also check places like the FYE music stores too, they can carry some odd stuff too.
  13. Can't wait to see this one done already!
  14. That's a pretty sweet build, was that the original plastic color or did you paint it after you stripped the tampo's?
  15. Nasty looking car, is it going to be an oil burner too?
  16. Neat idea, I've talked with people about this using the GN/GNX and Elky kits from Revell/Monogram. ot sure what would be cooler in it though, the Buick 3.8l Turbo or the Syclone 4.3l Turbo motors.
  17. Who cares what the price is, it's a Hudson Hornet in styrene!
  18. Great build Grzegorz, I hope you don't mind if I posted the pics and a link on a couple Jeep forums I belong too.
  19. Got a profile pic of that triple black R/T with the top up Dave?
  20. I remember reading the build of the 1/1 in an old Hot Rod Magazine that Dad has managed to hang on to. That and the Monza would make for some neat reissues from Round 2 as well!
  21. I used to work with a retired cop and when he first started the Addison, Illinois PD had some Mopars that were the same way. I had always heard that the Police Package cars had the best brakes and Dad used them quite a bit on it the B-Bodys he and Mom had owned. Dad figured and I later found out that those police cars hadn't actually been Police Package cars, but regular cars with all of the lights and such installed. Speaking of scary brakes, has anybody else had the displeasure of driving a Jeep Cherokee with the early Chrysler/Bendix 4 wheel ABS system? The '90 Laredo Dad just scrapped this summer had that and they rarely worked right and would in some cases prevent the truck from stopping all together! Luckily that system only lasted from '89-'91, my Sister's now also scrapped '92 Briarwood had the system that replaced it and that worked a whole lot better than the prior. When I bought mine I decided to forgo that route all together and found a Cherokee with just the standard power assisted disk/drum brakes.
  22. I loved that line of kits, kinda would like to see Round 2 bring a few of them back, this one in particular! Preferably in just plain white or grey plastic though
  23. Eelco's got a point, the way it's done there doesn't look right, and it seems like the word HEMI should be larger and cover more of the door as well.
