I thought that was a $22 kit? Was it just the regular boxed kit or the special edition? The standard one is $22.99 while the Special is supposed to be $34.99 Standard http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXWGF1&P=W Special http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAALJ&P=W -
I keep alot in a storage area down the road from home, so between those being sturdier than cardboard boxes and not being able to stop by all the time to look into how they are doing, that was the best thing to do. Just keep an eye out for them on sale at Wal-Mart, Target, Meijer, K-Mart, ect and look for the ones in the 18-30 gallon range, those seem to fit a decent number of kits, IIRC around 6-9 conventional sized model boxes should fit nicely.

Been there too, when I was younger on several occasions, my folks had to force the city to tear down the tree causing it!

I'm sorry to see that happened to you. That's exactly why I keep as many of my kits as possible in Rubbermade type containers

Being one of Joe Bailon's cars would explain why that chromed tube work on the front end seemed so familiar Hope it get's put back to it's previous glory too! -
I think I know what land your talking about, it's now owned and maintained by Ball Seed. The Napa is now in it's own building and what used to be called Adrian's is now a paint shop that might be part of the Napa. The spot in Batavia is pretty much right in the middle of the river near Duck Island and close enough that when the water is low enough later this summer, you could actually walk to the island! May have to bring Dad with me for a navigator though, I managed to get lost and ended up in Wisconson last year trying to get to Zion Beach State Park for a comp

Yup, definately a neat car, kinda reminds me of a heavily modded Low Rider. -
There aren't really any places on 59 to run them and the Dupage Forest Preserves are pretty much off limits if you don't have a plane or boat...and the permits to operate them in the approved places I have run them over at the Bowling Green and the Mexican Grocer that is now where Eagle and Family Foods used to be since they have a bunch of rocks around their lots. I do prefer playing at the Potawatomie Park and Dam (near the police station and city hall) in Batavia. The club I'm a member of runs a lot at Busse Woods at either the main dam or off Higgins (Cook County doesn't seem to be as concerned with trucks that can barely get into their own way like DuPage is ) and we're having out next Comp down at Kankakee River State Park. Never been there, but from the pics I've seen, it looks like a gooooood place to play!

Oh, same here, and it always kinda pissed Dad off when people would act like it wasn't a real GTO (which to him died after '64 when they went to the LeMans platform from the Tempest) I do seem to remember him finding it funny that Car and Driver prefered the '05 Mustang over the '05 GTO...even though the GTO was faster, quicker, less pointlessly optioned, and more "subtle" looking to the average witness....err....motorist

Yup Jim The Green XJ started out as an Axial AX10, then modded into what I was competing with, then threw the suspension on their Scale SCX10 "Ladder" chassis after I got my Losi Comp Crawler, finally last week I had to put most of the original suspension links on the "Ladder" chassis to shorten the wheelbase to fit that body and put the smaller 1.9" rims with matching BGF knockoffs to make legal for my club's scale "Street Truck" class. It's kind of ment to look like a Weekend Warrior type daily driver capable rig, the reason I put those rims on it was to look like the factory rims off a Jeep like mine that were powdercoated black after beeing taken off a junkyard XJ or ZJ:P The Dark Blue XJ started out as a HPI Wheely King that I made into a home made "Crawler King" (before any of the Crawler King stuff as offered) and have been thrashing a TJ Wrangler body from HPI on it for the past couple years till this body came out and decided to replace the old Axial 2.2 beadlocks and Proline Masher 2000 tires with a set of J Concepts Tense 2.2 beadlocks and a new set of M2k's. Between the wide WK axles and "6-Lug" J Concepts rims, this one ends up looking like somebody took old Full Size Chevy/GMC or Wagoneer axles and put them under their XJ....... Now I do have a few Rubicon decals from that TJ body that would look good on these two bodies too come to think of it

Don't forget all the guys that whined that it wasn't a "real" GTO and that it looked like an old ladies car or a Cavalier either. Even though that exactly what the original '64 GTO was, an old ladies car with a Grand Prix/Bonneville motor shoved in it. They could have stuck a 3800SC in a Grand Am or Sunfire and called it a GTO just as easily and been a bit more historicly accurate to boot

I'd hope that Ford would atleast give the guy the chance to sell cars and trucks from Ford, Mazda, and/or who ever else they still might own. Same with the guy now only selling Buicks too.

Done that a few times with my Jeep, the Cherokee's are more capapable that many suspect in corners Had some hot shot in an Acura RSX chase me into a 15mph right hand corner at about 35 or so a couple years ago and by the time I was back up to 45 I looked back to see that he was stopped dead mid-corner with the front tires turned full right lock with the car's left front corner just to the left of the yellow center lines
