  1. Your postman probably prefers MCM. You'll get it as soon as he's finished reading all the articles!
  2. I was at Hobby Bench, 43rd Ave & Bell a couple of days ago . . . they had several copies of #205 then, Russ.
  3. Wow. Only 40 days away . . . !! Hard to believe. Everything's pretty well in place, although we still have some vendor space available and lots of acreage on the tables for lots and lots of entries!! Same great venue and same great food service!! Some new event sponsors have joined us. All the awards sponsorships are sold and we'll be buying the awards soon. Some infrastructure adjustments to improve the event. We have an outstanding website and we are now online with a Facebook presence. Check us out and join us on April 14, 2018!! Website: DESERTSCALECLASSIC 14 Information Center

  6. Got my Issue# 205 today! [Insert 'Happy Dance' here.] It's a good one in the tradition of the best issues! Long and eagerly awaited, but soo glad to paw through it! Made even better by my appearance in the mag in two places! Great way to class up an issue, Gregg!! Sad to say, it is the last one Harry laid out. There won't be any more "Harry" issues. The only silver lining to that cloud is that our friend Sean Svensen is taking on the Graphics/Design role. Great job, Gregg, Darryl and crew!
  7. Funny thing you mention that, Ron. The Lovely & Gracious Mrs. B and I were watching one of our regular shows a couple of weeks ago and heard it said. It made me smile. L&GMB said, "Hey, you always say that. Did he get that from you?" Well, my, my, my. He could well have. Joe was with the Colorado Springs police when I was with the County Sheriff's Office. We were patrol officers at the same time, patrol supervisors, and detectives at our respective agencies. We attended criminal justice classes together and our jobs crossed paths from time to time since his city was in my county. I did a lot of criminal justice teaching and training around the state. We knew each other back then. His first supervisor in detectives was a close, life-long friend of mine. I was a Major Crimes detective and ended up going into Arson and Fire Investigations. Joe went into Homicide. Fast forward many years - I left the sheriff's office and traveled the country investigating fires for insurance companies, he continued in Homicide. I had a good career and ended up with a lot of ashy boots. He had a good career and ended up with the TV show -- and fame and fortune. And, no . . . he doesn't call and he doesn't write. LOL. I just get a kick out of his shows and stories, many of which I remember. And, nearly every episode features friends of mine, associates, and people I worked with, too.
  8. Ahhh. Sounds like he has a good plan. Wish him well for me, too. It is an honorable calling. I was born in Topeka but only lived there part of my first year . . . grew up in Hoisington until 10, then family moved to Wichita. I started out on Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office before relocating to Colorado Springs . . . now in Arizona. My parents lived in Leavenworth in my adult years - Mom was an intake counselor at the U.S. Military Disciplinary Barracks. Good luck, Jim - nice "visiting" with you.
  9. ISSUE 205!!! It's a good one in the tradition of the best issues! Long and eagerly awaited, for certain! Great reading. Sad to say, it is also the last one Harry Pristovnik laid out before his death. There won't be any more "Harry" issues. The silver lining to that cloud is that our friend Sean Svensen is taking on the Graphics/Design role. Great job, Gregg, Darryl, and crew.
  10. Dude!! Oh, man. I'm speechless again!
  11. I was equal-opportunity: I carried a torch for BOTH Heathers for a long, long time!
  12. Jim - - I always reminded my troops (and myself) that we always had to deal with the worst people at their best and the best people at their worst. It helps a little to keep things in perspective. BTW - What part of KS are you in; where does your son want to work?

  15. Go forth in better health! Best to you my friend.
  16. Well, why didn't you guys say 'bismarcks' to begin with??
  17. Gorgeous team!!
  18. Discuss it with your friend to ascertain whether he granted permission. If not, he needs to know. Then, if appropriate to the situation, assist him in notifying police. I'm guessing it might be an elder abuse matter . . . Ratbaztards need to be dealt with. Laws and police are there to protect those who can't take care of themselves.
