  1. i would not cut MCW enamels with mineral spirit,as a matter of fact they dont recommend you use mineral spirits,i use lacquer thinner, store bough cheapo stuff,or my go to is mr color levelling thinner
  2. the part number you gave is a enamel as by the letter E after the part number i have hand brushed their enamel line and it works great (mostly interior stuff),never tried to hand brush a body though
  3. i use MCW paints as my go to paints, mostly the enamel line,i also use their hardner with it always drys within 24 hrs,..not forever and a day like the old testor ,i dont use a dehydrator either i use there 1-k clear, and also add hardner to that,..gives a wicked shine/finish!,..the mcw enamel paints come out so well for me that sometimes i dont need clear, and do not clear it after paint, hope this helps.
  4. my go to"s for lacquer paint are super clean, works great on tamiya paint, and works fast, and 93% alcohol ,but for enamel paints (my MCW brand sprayed with hardner and clear) i used brake fluid but it took forever and a day to loosen the paint!...next up is easy off oven cleaner!
  5. AWESOME THANKS!.will give oven cleaner a try using my paint respirator mask and gloves,..thanks for the tip with resin also!
  6. yes ,as others have stated my two i ordered ,one from mega hobby has shipped, and hobby nut will have it in stock today/tommorow,i have seen a couple listed on e bay already also
  7. does any body have a go to stripper for enemals (MCW),applied with hardner and clearcoat?,i had used brake fluid in the past but it took almost a month!...rather not wait that long again, maybe i need a different brand, type of brake fluid,i used dot 3?
  8. just ordered mine from mega hobby, also have one on order from hobby nut models,...gotta have two right???
  9. i have recently ventured into the vinyl tops ,i used thin.025 styrene glued to the model for the trim/overlaps, then use MCW either black or white textured spray, comes out looking great.
  10. looking good!!
  11. any truth to this rumor?...i have been looking on you tube/facebook and all around to see if its true, but cant find a thing?
  12. is that a rebop of the earlier revell kit that came out in the 90's?..or is it all new?..i have the earlier version with the pic of the real car on the box and was wondering whats the differance?
  13. got some parts from him a couple weeks back, good stuff, just a fyi it usually takes him about 2/3 weeks to ship pars so dont get discouraged.
  14. back when i was building truck models jamie was my go to guy,..never ever been burned by him!..his resin parts where great also!
  15. its ben a while since i built one but if i remember they tend to sit high,i have one in the works but not that far along for suspension,...on a off topic question where do you get the backdrops for the model pics? i see it a lot on here with peoples finished models, looks like a dealership or garage?...looks very cool!
  16. just got a e-mail yesterday from harts that my order has been processed and will be shipping soon, this is good news!
  17. just sent me a e-mail about some parts compatability issues on some stuff i ordered last week? he reached out to me,not vise versa but i responded and there were no issues?i think hes a one ,man show, maybe just back logged with orders?
  18. great job!
  19. great thanks for the heads up,i guess im a little guns shy after my bad experience from dirt modeler
  20. Really nice job! any details on it ? like what paint you used and the color?
  21. l put a order in on monday, got a conformation e mail, just waiting for the stuff to be shipped.i was kinda skeptical,as a side note i had bad luck with dirt modeler parts,...never got a e-mail,or anything after a couple of weeks paypal refunded my money.
  22. i order from scott all the time, just placed another order 4 days ago, will show up today, fast shipping and great stuf from him!
  23. i love MCW paints,i only use enamels so can't comment on the lacquers,i never have been any good with paint lobs except out of testors rattle cans, since i switched to mcw enamels out of my airbrush, painting is fun again!!as hard as i try i cant seem to screw up using their paints, lol as for primers, i use acrylic(MIG_AMMO_wich is stylinrez brand and auto parts store can primer, and sometimes no primer!...never screwed up a basecoat doing it that way,i also use mcw enamel gloss,1k type clear, and recently bough mcw 2k clear but have not used it yet.mcw moved back down south the last couple of months so waitng for them to fulfill all orders may take some time as i waited for over a month for them to catch up. try using hobby nut models as they carry the mcw line of paints and have a bunch in stock as i bought from them many times in the last 6 months
  24. looking good!
