1962 F100 rebuild
mchook replied to mchook's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks guys, I might try to scratch build a frame but for right now I need help. What can I do to fix the tailgate without messing up the letters? -
Thanks again guys. It was nice to make a junker again, it's been a while.

BEAUTIFUL BUILD!!!

I got this last year from a friend and figured I should rebuild it for my garage as a shop truck. I got it taken apart & it's in pretty good shape even though it had a lot of stuff glued on it. I'm not sure but I might get one of the new 65 66 F100 kits for the chassis.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the great comments.

What’s your most and least favourite task?

I'm with you, I hate installing glass. -
This is a linberg Charger super bee that I got at ollies for 7.99 a while ago. I've never built a car newer than a 1970s before so this is all new too me. I hated the new charger when it came out because it's a 4 door so I'm trying to make it a 2 door.

Great job, that's one nice looking "T".

79 Ford dually 4x4

I love this truck! Great colors, really nice body & I love the trim work on the sides. I drove one like it as a kid only mine was green. -
Beautiful! 57 Fords are my favorite cars ever since I was a kid and this is the best looking model of a wagon I've seen. I wish I had your talent to make one look this nice.

I've had this happen too. If I don't put my beard in a pony tail or tuck it in my shirt it ends up knocking things off the bench. Sometimes there's paint in it & parts. I think if I work on something too long I'll have my own personal junkyard on my face. Talk about losing something & finding it right under your nose!?

The top looks great & the I love that radiator shell. It wont be long & the primer & paint should be flying.

Thanks Paul, I used some thinned down flat grey waterbase paint. Nothing fancy just some old craft paint I had lying around. I brushed it on heavy, (making sure to get it in the scribed lines good) waited a few minutes to kind of soak in & then wiped it with a dry paper towel. I did it a couple times until it looked good to me. It was a trial & error thing that happened to work out. I tried to make the bathroom look like most I remember seeing as a kid. You could use it if you HAD TO but really didn't want to.?

I started this back in 2016 & got 4 walls up. It was good enough for a backdrop when taking pictures but I keep seeing all these great garage dioramas you guys are doing & I figure it's time to get mine going again. It wont be easy, I still don't have my model stuff ready from the move but I'm hoping this will get me fired up to do some work. There was a post for it a while ago but the pictures were lost so here I go again. I started with the walls, they're made from sheet rock, I removed the paper from one side & scribed the lines for the blocks. I used some thin board I found in the garage for the floor & just painted it grey. I built the bathroom from left over pieces of sheet rock & scrap plastic. I glued the rear wall & left side wall in place for now. I'm leaving the other side & front loose so i can remove them for getting better pictures. I have a few tools in it now but nothing permanent, I have a couple tool kits to built that will look better. Good or bad, let me know what you think.

Let's See Some Glue Bombs!
mchook replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I got a big box of them a while ago. The 62 F100 is just getting a good cleaning & put on a shelf, but the 40 Ford I want to rebuild. It just looks cool to me. -
WOW, this is some really cool stuff. Here are a few tow truck bodies & booms I built and my Model A Ford Buzz Saw unit.
