  1. Every model I build I sell on ebay. I don't have the space to keep them & I enjoy the build more than the results. Sometimes I make money & sometimes not, but I use what I make to buy more supplies. I never really thought about what people do with them after they buy them, I guess I just figured they end up on someone else's shelf. I sold a model (41 Willys Truck) a couple weeks ago & sent it to Colorado. I received a comment on that build (that I posted here in the truck section) that they saw the model at the "Goodguys" show in Colorado this weekend and it looked great in person. Thank you very much Ben269! At first I was a little aggravated that someone else put my model in a contest, but then after a minute I thought, it's not my model anymore, it's his. I laughed a little after thinking about what he paid for it & thought, I hope he won something with it. I guess it doesn't bother me. So, my question is... would it bother you if you found out a model you built was put in a contest by someone else?
  2. Thanks guys! That's funny, I sold it to a guy 2 weeks ago on ebay & I sent it to Colorado. I hope he won something with it because he spent a pretty penny on it.
  3. I miss that you could lean on a car without the fear of denting it, the style, or lack of, being able to work on them but most of all the exhaust smell. I know it's weird but if I could can that smell I would. I know it's bad for everyone & the environment but I LOVE that smell. I go to my fathers house every weekend & we work on his old cars. He's been buying & selling antique cars forever so I've learned alot over the years about bringing an old car back to life. Here are just a few he has right now. The 79 Ranchero is the newest old car he owns, There's more but I don't have pics of them all.
  4. I got this "Ridge Runner" kit yesterday. I was happy to see it was glued with old Testors blue tube glue so it came apart easy & clean.
  5. Thanks guys for all the great comments.
  6. Looks great! Nice weathering.
  7. Would it be wrong for me to say. HOLY BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, that looks great!!!
  8. This is the best wrecker I've seen! I love everything about it!
  9. It's an old "Moving Violation" cab & 37 Ford chassis. I worked on making the doors work for a few days & I finally figured out how to do it. GLUE THEM SHUT! It would have been easier if the cab wasn't built once before. Anyway here it is in all it's rotten glory.
  10. I think it's done. Gonna put some more pics under glass later.
  11. Well, I got a boom built & started on some weathering.
  12. I love everything about it! The paint is AMAZING!!!!!!
  13. Thanks guys. I got a little paint on & it's way too clean, but it wont be for long. Gonna build a wrecker boom for it too. I just can't stop building tow trucks.
  14. I started to build the bed. I used the sides from a 50 Ford pickup & the 40 Ford coupe rear fenders. I had to widen the fenders a little & made the inner fenders.
  15. I started with an old box of parts from a "Moving Violation" kit & an Ollies 37 Ford kit. The chassis is from the 37 Ford & cab from the Willys. I cut the rear fenders from a 40 Ford coupe kit to use for the bed. Gonna go old ratty tin on new running gear. This is what I have so far...
  16. WOW $50 BUCKS!!! Great find, I thought I got a deal at $200 for this old Charger & it was a lot worse than your Satellite. Good luck with it, I love to see them saved & not crushed.
  17. Your right, you couldn't live on it but you can make a little here & there. I sell everything I build on ebay & most of the time I do O.K. The most I've ever got for a model was over $500 on my Hippie bus. I'm sure not making a living from it but it gives me extra money to buy more kits & supplies. Sometimes I even have enough left over so I can take my wife out for dinner. I enjoy "the build" more the the finished product so for me it's easy to sell something I have a lot of time & work into. Plus it's cool to see what people are willing to pay for stuff.
  18. Yes it is. It's all "evergreen" styrene & it all works too.
  19. Wow, these are some amazing trucks! I don't know if you guys consider it a "Big Rig" but here's my Ford C600 I built years ago.
  20. I love it! This is one of my all time favorite cars. Beautiful job!
  21. I got this & a few others back in May at a car show. It was an old build that was brush painted & a rough build (lots of glue). Now it looks rough but in a good way.
  22. Wow! I love the way this is coming out. Keep up the great work.
  23. This truck looks great! I know what you mean about the thickness on this cab, the one I built was the same way. I love the 40 Ford headlights, that's what I did with mine too.
  24. I noticed this too, but I did find out that if you click on the word "listing" in the blue line reading "The listing you’re looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you." you can see the original listing. Nobody will tell you this at ebay, but it works.
  25. Wow, thanks for all the great comments guys. The boom & body are from the "Midnite Cowboy" kit but I cut off the fender flares & made my own wheel wells. I think it made it look a little better.
