  1. Great start, I like it! I think if you shorten it you'll be in for a lot of work. If you take 1 window width out of the middle, then the rear will look like it has too much overhang. Then you might have to move the wheel wells back a little to make it look right. That's a lot of cutting, not to mention moving the door from one side to the other. Either way, it looks great & good luck, I'll be watching.
  2. This is sweet! If I was going to do this one I would use the "S'cool bus" body. I think it's a better look & probably a little less work.
  3. My Hippie bus using a Isuzu Bonnet Bus resin copy.
  4. That looks great! The only thing I would change is the crank handle should be on the other side. That way you can release the gear to drop the cable.
  5. Man, that looks great! I love this picture too, it looks like the real thing! I sent you a pm with your measurements, so I can't wait to see what's next.
  6. Thanks, sorry about your dad. After I posted the pictures I realized I set the saw up wrong. I didn't think anyone would notice, but.... So here it is the right way & thank you all for the great comments!!!
  7. Finally finished this thing & got some good pics. Old Ford A Model power unit like my father had as a kid. Tell me what you think... good or bad I want to hear it all.
  8. Thanks guys! Tom, I had this problem & it was driving me nuts, they don't have enough weight to them to stay put with the belt on. I didn't want to anchored it to something that someone didn't want, because I'm not keeping it. "mecklm" Mike, reminded me about adding a twist to the belt. It was something I forgot about & it made it look 100% better. I made the belt longer, added the twist & used spray starch for ironing clothes to hold the shape. Now they stay apart without the belt pulling them together. I still need better pictures.
  9. Thanks guys, Mike I couldn't find some Tyvek that would hold the shape I needed. I ended up using masking tape & I think it looks ok. I'll post more pics "under glass" when I get some better pictures.
  10. I had some time & worked on the buzz saw. Just needs to be cleaned up & painted. Now I need to figure out what to make a belt from, any ideas would help. Thanks to everyone for all the great comments.
  11. Thanks, nothing fancy just Walmart rattle can flat black & dry brushed with good old Testors silver.
  12. I'm about finished with this part. It still needs a fuel line, choke, throttle & spark lever. Next I'll make a buzz saw to go with it.
  13. Thanks! Kind of? I found them in my Model A parts box. They're from different kits & just the outer part of the wheel with some styrene around the outside.
  14. You do great scratch building, so please tell me your not using the tow boom that comes in the kit. I think it would look killer with a Manley Wrecking crane like the one I built for one of my trucks.
  15. I love 57 Fords & this is the nicest I've seen in a long time. The paint is AMAZING!!!
  16. You did a great job! I want to see more pictures of it! Don't tease us with just 1 pic.
  17. The weather man said -24 degrees with the wind chill the next few nights, so I'll be enjoying these this weekend. Xmas gifts from the wife & kids.
  18. Nice work on the Mustang & that backdrop is awesome! Is it made from foam board or...?
  19. I love it! Great colors on a great build!
  20. Wow , thanks for all the great comments. I didn't think anyone would be interested in this type of build, it's not a cool hot rod or muscle car. I' know that Montgomery Ward & Sears had these types of conversions. The Model A we had as a kid was a cut off car chassis with a cowl & the part for the transmission. The Model T was a cart conversion like this. That's funny, we had one of these too that my father used for sand blasting. His was a B model cut off with the Gordon Head. I'll see if I can find some pics of it. So I got the cart about finished, I need to make a battery box, a few more brackets and get some paint on it. It's still a little cold ( about 6 degrees) so I don't see any paint getting on it today.
  21. My parents dug out some stuff to decorate for the Holidays & they found this. When I was a kid my parents bought this in a box lot at an auction (over 40 years ago) & I played with it forever. I remember sitting on the trailer & driving all over the house with the trailer filled full of other toys. When I got into my teens it was the perfect place to hide a bottle of booze. My parents moved to Tennessee when I was 18 & they stayed over 10 years. Then moved back to New York after my wife & I had kids. You can't keep Grandparents away! The other day my father said he had something for me to take home. I though the truck was long gone, so it was pretty cool to see it again. It still is painted the way it was when I got it & is in pretty good shape for the amount of miles it has on it. I think I might strip it down, fix the cracks in the wood & give it a new paint job. Anyway, I figured all you truckers would enjoy this. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
  22. I like it alot!!! I'm glad to see it complete & not "One with the wall". That's how most of mine turn out, in more parts than I started with.
  23. I haven't had a lot of time to work on this but I did get some paint on & a little more stuff...
  24. Hi guys, I need some help. How can I make some radiator hose clamps that look better than just painting a small stripe of silver? Thanks in advance.
