  1. This looks great! I think if you use some pins from a watch band & cut them off short it would make great looking spark plugs for you. The Model T is one of my favorites, during the summer my daughter & I take out my father's 1923 T pickup every weekend.
  2. Thanks guys for all the great compliments.
  3. I bought this kit years ago & just opened it. I was looking forward to building it until I got a good look at it. The decals shown on the box aren't the ones that come with it, & the detail is pretty much non existent. I think the chassis is used in a few different amt/mpc kits & doesn't really fit any of them. Anyway, I decided to make another junker out of it and here it is. I didn't do much to it other than open the trunk & make it look like junk.
  4. Thanks everyone for all the kind words. It was a lot of fun to build & it's nice to hear all the positive feedback!
  5. Thanks, I made the seat from scrap styrene.
  6. It's finished. Rusty old used Model A doodlebug with a trailer full of hay. I was going to have different stuff in the trailer but things didn't work out. Good or bad, tell me what you think.
  7. I LOVE IT!!! IT LOOKS JUST RIGHT!!!
  8. Got the trailer about done & made a pick, sledge hammer, shovel, post hole digger & fence posts. Next is the barbed wire & maybe some more goodies.
  9. I'm in. Here's a few I've done & I'm always working on more.
  10. Jeff, I love it! Keep going! As for a "Doodle Bug Community Build" I'm all in!!! LETS DO IT!!!
  11. I got them on ebay. They are resin & the first time I've used them but they're real nice. Check them out. http://www.ebay.com/itm/201473658693?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  12. Your off to a great start! Your building it like a real one, using whatever you have for parts. If you don't have it, build it. I've seen them with plywood firewalls & old road signs for hoods. Anything goes & nothing is wrong. It won't be long & it will be ready to go to work.
  13. I can't wait to see it Jeff!!!
  14. The old amt 57 ford kit came with a little Bassett hound. That's what I used for my patrol cars.
  15. Very cool Chuck!!! It looks like an old flower car on steroids!
  16. Thanks guys! I added a bumper, step & I'm working on the hood. I need to paint it but it's still about 10 degrees out so not today. I'm working on a trailer for it too. I think I'm going to make it full of fence posts & barbed wire.
  17. I know it should be 1 ton & smaller but what about this? Its a 1950 Chevy 3100 nose so I'm not sure if it meets the requirements. Please let me know.
  18. Thanks guys! I got more finished & I'm in the home stretch. More wiring plumbing paint & scratch built seat.
  19. I think I'll give it a try. I have alot of stuff to choose from. Can we do customs or do they need to look stock?
  20. Thanks Dave, I built a tow hitch with a removable receiver so I could mount the frame for the bike, a ball or a step to get in the camper.
  21. Thanks guys, Dave the camper was scratch built. It's just an empty shell, not too hard to do at all. It would look great on your truck, you should do it!
  22. This is going to be nice. I like it being a 2wd myself, it's just different. I did a 1 ton duallie extended cab years ago, it was my first time stretching everything but didn't come out to bad. Get ready for lots of sanding & good luck, I can't wait to see it done.
  23. I was going to make it restored but this time of year is busy so I haven't had time to do much. About the only thing I could do is screw up a paint job so it looks like it's going to look very used. I even fixed the holes I added in the cowl but between the temperature being below zero here & being in a hurry I wasn't having any luck. I got some wheels the other day for the rear & added some wires & crappy paint.
  24. O.k. I'm having an issue & I need some opinions. I have built real Doodlebugs & models & they always look old & rusty because that's the way I've seen them. Now the real ones are being restored & used in shows & parades, not the work horses they were meant to be. Poor mans tractor is what they were, but seeing them shiny is pretty cool too. So my question is should it be restored or not? I'm ready for paint & don't know which way to go. Please give me some advise. Here's one of my old ones & one someone restored.
  25. Don't worry about the facebook guy. If you're happy with it, then that's all that matters! I like it, & I love the bug deflector!!!
