  1. Not bad, but you need wheel arch moldings, and thin rocker molding between wheel wells. Otherwise it is okay.
  2. Not too bad if a build, but keep in mind that all Cutlass Supremes had wheel arch moldings, other than the 442 or Hurst. Also the bottoms of the front and rear bumpers were chrome and never body color on a Cutlass Supreme or Brougham. And the Brougham always had wide lower rocker panel moldings as standard issue from 1981 until the very end. Just some tips for you if accuracy is important.
  3. Beautiful Torino, dead accurate for factory. First build I have seen posted in here in a while that is awesome and 100% factory. Am currently working on taking a Starsky/Hutch Torino and turning it in to a Brougham coupe. Opera windows were tough, but the end result will be worth it.
  4. Fantastic job !!! Glad to see another builder who prefers going factory with a Cadillac !!! Great interior detail. I did mine in GM Light Beechwood
  5. Beautiful Oldsmobile collection !! I have for of the ones you displayed and turned each in to a Cutlass Supreme, the most difficult being the Hurst Olds from the 80's. Had to shop long and hard for the parts but got them finally and it is now proudly a Cutlass Supreme Classic from 1987. GM should truly be ashamed of itself for allowing Olds to vanish and destroying it in the late 80's with ugly stupid products that had nothing to do with what the history of the product. I just wish someone would do and early 80's Delta 88 at some point. Would round out any Olds fans collection beautifully. Yes there is still 'A Special Feel in an Oldsmobile' to a lot of us !!!
  6. Amazing, that one can't post an observation or opinion without all the 'custom and hotrod police' going ballistic and getting their jeans all twisted !! Everyone builds what they like and enjoys. I personally do nothing but factory stock. Last year I acquired a complete JoHan Olds Cutlass collection at an estate sale for a true bargain price. A lot of 442's and a couple of Hursts were in the collection but no more. Each is happily now a model year correct Cutlass Supreme or just regular Cutlass, and a few needed refinishing and are now gracing my collection in true factory Oldsmobile colors. Also had to send out some chrome for replating, but well worth it, as any Oldsmobile dealer or true Oldsmobile fan would now be proud. And no, not vein enough to post pictures, they are for my and my friends enjoyment and no one else's. Did the same with a few glue bomb Ford Cobra's and a few Torino models I acquired over the past several years. All are now happily a Fairlane 500, Torino, or a Gran Torino Brougham. To each his own....as I said before
  7. Really? Wonder about what, exactly? And who made you the final arbiter of taste, or what's a waste of space? You do realize in your seemingly infinite wisdom that a customized car on trade in is worthless to a dealer don't you ?? Won't pass any state tests other than those that don't bother to properly inspect a motor vehicle, and there are a few of those states yes. But in mine everything from tires to wiper blades is inspected and if it is questionable, the big red sticker goes on the windshield. You can't legally drive them in most states, and what thrill can anyone possibly get from raising a pickup 7 feet off the ground, installing tires meant for a Humvee, and installing exhausts from a freightliner, let alone building a replica in 1/25 scale of it ??? Like my original post said, not my thing never will be and would rather not build a model than duplicate something like that. But to destroy a rare 63 DeVille convertible by lowering it, painting it some insipid purple color and put flames on it to me is destroying history. Little did the builder know that in pristine condition the model is worth a small fortune, of if he or she did, probably didn't care. The sad thing was to have to put up with the continuous updates of this model. And on more than one site and in various sections. Custom belongs in custom, racer in racer, not factory stock. And yes some think concept cars are FACTORY STOCK. If they weren't on the showroom, don't belong in a factory stock section. Yes, that does make me wonder, too many fumes from the glue, or inhaled too much overspray from the air brush or paint can ???
  8. I belong to several model car sites and often get great ideas for detailing or see models that are rare and it is enjoyable. However I have often wondered, why more builders just can't seem to leave well enough alone and build factory ?? Models of cars that real people actually drove daily or owned, rather than chop them, lower them, have a million flames flying off them etc. To me that is great if you are 13 or 14 and have dreams or have seen it on tv, but for real adults makes you wonder. Why waste time effort and money on something that most probably are only being polite and saying great, very nice, great build etc.?? Recently saw a model of a beautiful rare Cadillac, that to me was destroyed by lowering it to one inch from the ground, a truly obnoxious color, and wheels that belonged on a bicycle, not a model car. If that is what floats your boat, then God Bless you, but we don't need to see hourly progress reports, how you agonized installing flame number 90, and details of a painted radio knob etc. Kind of silly and a waste of space. But to each his own. Just something that is a personal pet peeve to me. The finished product is one thing, the attachment or painting of every part is quite another. Might interest some but I think the majority are just being polite and really could care less. Who knows, just a few thoughts..........
  9. If you end up doing a 67 or 68 Colony Park wagon, you can count me in. Die hard Mercury fan here and would love one !!!
  10. Wow a beautiful model and fantastic build !! Nice to see someone else appreciate real cars and build replicas of something other than NASCAR models or cars lifted 20 feet throwing flames !! The daily driver of the working family has always been my favorite and what I pay attention to the most. Awesome color and detail !!
  11. A great real version build !! Saw a few of these over the years plying the roads of central N.J. Love when I see someone build a car model that the masses could buy and drive daily. Great color choice and exceptional job on the interior !!! Where are all the kids waiting to go to the amusement park ???!!!
  12. Now that is a car !!! An absolutely perfect and gorgeous build. Bravo !!! Being a Ford guy for decades now, I love seeing something like this being built. Not a fan of Mustangs at all, too many have been done and over done. But the Galaxie/LTD has always been my favorite along with the Gran Torino in the Ford lineup. Wish someone would do a four door kit of either one or both, as the 4 door always outsold the coupe 2 to 1. But you nailed this build dead on !!!
  13. Absolutely stunning model !! Looks so real. I have one waiting to build, as soon as I am finished with my 72 Hurst convertible becoming a Cutlass Supreme convertible. Plan on doing the same to the 67 Lindbergh kit as well. Am a huge Cutlass fan !!!
  14. Beautiful builds. The Cuda and the Mustang are stunning. I am not a Chevy fan at all so the Camaros do absolutely nothing for me. Couldn't give me the real thing for free !!
  15. Absolutely gorgeous model. Great save and your detailing is perfect. Bravo !!!
  16. Sadly mine arrived last week and was nothing but some parts to restore a few dealer promos. They will be missed greatly in this hobby. Items were always perfect, you never ever had to think twice about anything you ordered from them. The pretenders are already envisioning of taking their place. Not likely. Nice to dream and fool yourself in to thinking you can fill a gap. However when you look at some of the idea pictures posted, I run and not walk. The polite way of describing some of this stuff is 'Abortions'. And to post it on ebay is insane. I scroll right over it not giving it a second look. Now that Don and Carol are retired, doubtful anyone has the time enthusiasm and eye for detail like they did. Sad day in the model car industry
  17. I placed an order in early December, made a few inquiries and never received an update other than an inventory sheet twice but not an actual answer. When I pressed him on the issue in February, he got rather defensive and indignant. I finally got sick of waiting, and got Paypal involved in it. I received half my order In March and they gave me a refund on the other 1/2 as obviously he doesn't communicate well with them either. But he is fast to sit on your money. His lack of answers speaks volumes and under no circumstances would I do business with him again. And I certainly don't buy this remailer delivery to U.S. nonsense and time involved etc. that he hides behind. I deal with foreign sellers all the time via other vendors and get my items in three to four weeks maximum, usually three. His merchandise may be great, but what you have to go through to obtain it is just not worth it. And it is not an accredited business with Paypal either come to find out. Caveat Emptor....let the buyer beware
  18. I would want to see a completed casting offered for sale laid out in photo and also all parts that come with the kit, as other reputable companies do, not just pictures from a manufacturers brochure or classic magazine ad. Great ideas come easily, but more often than not, get lost in the delivery. Caveat Emptor, let the buyer beware..............
  19. I would be interested but would want to see a complete casting with all parts laid out to view like other kits available on ebay. Not one covered with modelers putty etc. Caviat Emptor, let the buyer beware....
  20. In order for me to be interested, the kit would have to be of high quality. But yes I would be. The kit should also include a rear bumper and tail lights as these are totally different from the sedans used as donor kits. And for sure, as another poster stated, the kit needs to include those wheel covers pictured. I never ever remember seeing a wagon with dog dish caps and now that Modelhaus is done, options are not available to the builder. Anything less than these items being included is just cutting corners, being cheap so to speak, and automatically turns me off completely.
  21. A very good looking start to what will be a great model !! For the life of me, I can't figure out why the model companies don't cast more 4 doors especially ones like this, since people actually drove them. The potential for what could be done is unlimited. Instead we are showered with every type of Camaro, Firebird or Mustang ever produced or even dreamt of. None of which interests me. Can't wait to see the completed model !!!
  22. I would love to see 4 door model kits. I have had it with the Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds, and every other sports coupe that gets re-released 300 hundred times. Although there are some wonderful coupes as well, like the 77-79 T-Bird or Cougar, no model company has ever even considered releasing one. Far too worried about another Mustang or Camaro model, even though there are already 500 plus on the market. There were an awful lot of sedans that were great in the late 70's and early 80's that would sell as models. And remember the car companies dropped two door models one by one, as they stopped selling. The market changed, sedans were more popular and the SUV made its debut as well. The entire auto industry changed gradually starting in the mid 80's but the model car companies never kept up with it. The best selling nameplate of all time was the Mercury Grand Marquis, and no model company has ever stepped up to the plate and done one sadly. So we will sit back and await re-release number 21 of the 67 Mustang or the 2015 Camaro. The new releases will likely feature working windshield wipers !!! Woo Hoo, care I do not............
  23. Makes no difference as to LTD, LTD Brougham, or LTD LX. Body and sheet metal was all the same, only some chrome was blacked out. And of course the 5.0L V-8. Other than that everything else was identical. But beyond the door skins, the car had little to nothing in common with a Fairmont.
  24. I stumbled across this kit on ebay, the seller only had two available and I grabbed one of them. The wheels are actually wheel covers that I will use trim rings to give the sunken effect like the Cadillac wire wheel that I acquired from Missing Link. They are universal GM wire wheel covers....
