  1. More detail in this video... http://money.cnn.com/video/pf/2012/04/04/pf-w-chrysler-srt-viper.cnnmoney/?source=cnn_bin
  2. We're at page 243 of this thread, and this forum has a really terrible search engine that makes it nearly impossible to find out what's going on here. Is there a way to start over and make this thread easier to follow? Maybe "What did you get today, part 10?"
  3. They are just reusing other tooling under an agreement with the prior company and redistributing it under their name. No big deal.
  4. Very nice stuff here, of course. But let me ask you this... Harry has mentioned that ma [EDIT] SORRY, BUT I CAN'T POST BECAUSE THIS IS GOING CRAZY FOR ME RIGHT NOW AND I CAN'T FINISH MY POST OR DELETE IT.
  5. That "MAT-VEHICLE" is surprising. Under the stickers, it's a Mazda Cosmo (Mazda's first Wankel-powered car that hit the streets in 1967) - didn't know there was a kit.
  6. Love it. Meanwhile, the real world is still stuck with 21st Century technology (actually, longer. The following approach has been around since the 1950s, but this one looks a lot cooler)... http://lightyears.bl...rive/?hpt=hp_c2
  7. I'm not real familiar with Flickr, but many of the posts I've seen using it can get the images only by clicking on a link. Does Flickr have a feature for directly putting images in a post, like Photobucket or Fotki?
  8. You've used up the memory provided by this forum for posting images. Now you need to open a free image hosting account with services like Photobucket or Fotki.
  9. It's a Korean company that - at least for model cars - usually does reboxing of other brands' kits and had a joint venture with Minicraft up to several years ago. This looks like the same Ferrari 250 California Spider issued by Italeri, Testors and Revell, but this generic labeling is intended to avoid dealing with Ferrari's trademark and licensing guys. Not a perfect kit, but the only game in town for this car at 1/24. They sold a number of 1/16 kits that were previously issued by Gunze Sangyo, Entex, etc. They do a lot of military and aircraft, as well as RC. I really don't know how much of their product line has been designed, tooled and manufactured by them. Info on Ferrari 250 kits here... http://italianhorses...so%20Berlinetta
  10. Speaking of a Gullwing woodie... Or maybe you could use this for a topiary in your garden,,,
  11. It's really not that hard and doesn't have to be professional quality. Just make sure you've got enough backlight to silhouette the subject properly, and enough light fill from the foreground to show the details. And don't use macro unless you just want to show a tiny part. If you have to, just shoot a wide shot from a distance to keep everything in focus, then crop into it for good framing. That's the basics. The video takes you several steps further. If you're shooting outside, let the daylight come from behind or the side, and use a white or silver card as shown in the video to bounce light onto the foreground side of the model. What you see in your electronic viewfinder is pretty much exactly what you'll get.
  12. If you don't buy the kit, you can sell it for many times over on eBay as long as it's really complete.
  13. Wow. $90 for a complete Pocher kits sounds almost too good to be true. You can download the instructions free at modelmotorcars.com. In fact, it's a good idea to take a look at them before you buy the kit so you know what's involved. It will also help you make sure the kit is complete. http://www.modelmoto...anuals_home.htm
  14. I don't get it, Ed. What difference does it make if some people won't pay attention to this? Others will, and will profit from it. There is nothing useless about presenting this information.
  15. Great metallic paint. Is it a pearl?
  16. Great work on the wheels, and it's nice to see a scratchbuilt engine-turned dash with a defined pattern to it.
  17. Yup. And they're still in the Monogram reissue.
  18. Thanks, Steve! I've never seen that photo - where did you find it? My reference came from a 1:1 replica and a diecast. Is that your build? Looks very nice.
  19. I understand that both bubbles on the center part of the canopy should have hinges at the top rear, attached to the tops of the rear glass, so it pivots up from the front. Here's a detailed build journal on this kit. Seems to cover everything you'd need to know about it. I'd save this if you're serious about building the kit. Or make a copy of it to keep with the kit. http://www.modelcars...ck_futura_1.htm
  20. I've got the Monogram reissue, which is molded in white. Nicely done kit; I think one of the challenges is to figure out how to very carefully take the single-piece canopy and cut it so it opens (would the Batmobile canopy work as a substitute?). And I do agree that the red movie version would be the way I'd build it. I've got a copy of the movie, "It Started With a Kiss," which is very hard to find and is available only on VHS tape. [EDIT: I see that they came out with a remastered DVD version last Fall. Pleasant, lightweight comedy, but nothing special. Good exterior and interior paint reference] Here's a pretty good background article on the car, with several pictures... http://theinvisiblea...ncept-car-1955/
  21. Absolutely gorgeous. Great work.
  22. Hmm. I get a combination of "Page Not Found," along with their home page. I clicked on a tire image and it took me to their normal menu (still with Page Not Found included). Very odd, since the home page features March specials. Try the e-mail listed on the home page. http://www.detailmaster.com/
  23. Here in East Tennessee, I have never received a damaged MCM. It arrives newsstand-perfect every time.

    Long John

That certainly looks more like it than what Galaxie said.
