Stuck Again-How Do I Wire an Engine?
sjordan replied to Hedgehog's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I think you would get more answers faster if you clicked on Edit, then clicked on Use Full Editor, to change to a more descriptive title for your thread, such as How Do I Wire an Engine? It may even be better if you posted this instead in the "How Do I...?" part of the forum. -
Lamborghini's CEO says it will probably be similar in price to a Gallardo - about $180,000.

Here's some more good reference on a V-12 roadster that's closer to the kit. http://www.boldride.com/ride/1937/packard-twelve-coupe-roadster

This is Lamborghini's idea of a daily driver. I thought the old LM002 was cooler. Details here: http://www.ultimatec...us-Concept.html

Very, very nice. -
Your best and most hassle-free bet is to go directly to professional aftermarket suppliers. Otherwise, you just have to hope that someone will respond to a request on the Swap, Trade or Free part of this forum. (I still haven't figured out the difference between "Swap" and "Trade.") These are mostly online storefronts that have long internal links to the sources of the selected parts they carry, but no direct outside links to those vendors. It's a start, but maybe other members here know of a good links list. I know they're out there, and don't have to be reinvented by this forum. Some of these have good category lists of the products they sell. The last one, (Rocketfin) is the closest to what I think you're looking for. Thankfully, it describes the type of products sold by the aftermarket vendors. http://www.stradaspo...Model-Cars.html http://stores.scaled.../StoreFront.bok http://www.islandcol...et/products.htm http://modelcargarag...wcategories.asp http://www.thepartsb...store/index.php (this is in Australia) http://www.rocketfin..._car_links.html

Was the Slixx farewell ad purchased by them or donated by the magazine? Either way, very classy. -

Is your avatar in honor of Jonathan Frid, who died yesterday? -
Excellent work. What paint color did you use for the fenders?
-
Nice paint work, but the photos make it look a lot more like the popular salmon pink of the 50s and not red at all.

Just got my issue in perfect condition today. I love the smell of printer's ink in the morning. -

Obviously, there's no official ranking system with members who have a secret handshake, though maybe someone could start a contest category. Sort of like becoming an Iron Chef. Regardless, you'll know one when you see one. -
Yeah, here's one for $254, plus ridiculous shipping within the US. A good look at the kit contents. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CLASSIC-CAR-BIANCHI-1-16-BIG-MODEL-KIT-BANDAI-JAPAN-/360375615842?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUA%26otn%3D5%26pmod%3D320842242504%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7765083711870905373

There are a couple of the Bianchi kit currently eBay (for up to $150). From the seller's description: "This is an auction for an Imai issued Bandai 1/16 Bianchi model kit. This is one of the more rare Bandai 1/16 kits that was never issued through Entex, unlike the other more popular 1/16 classic car kits. This odd looking model features a motorized drive system with the motor inside the engine, and working steering from the steering wheel. There is a metal gearbox, gears, and metal steering mechanism gearbox. The doors open and the leaf springs are assembled from individual strips."

Very nicely done and imaginative. I particularly like the swim platform at the stern.

Check out Fine Art Models for large-scale models that go for around $30,000. About what Gerald Wingrove charges for his masterpieces.

Well, someone thought it was pretty enough to pay $35 million for it, as you can see from my post above! This beats out a Ferrrari 250 GTO that sold not too long ago for $32 million. Of course, these are recorded sale prices. It's unknown what other cars may have cost in private transactions that aren't recorded, and the Japanese and Chinese spend megabucks for collector cars.

What happened to Revell of Gemany Ferrari 250 SWB
sjordan replied to Phildaupho's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Seems like the original Italeri version is all that's left (and which is impossible to find), although there's an AMT/ERTL version that doesn't look very good and a hideously expensive resin kit.
