  1. Thank You all
  2. Thanks Bill, your engine detailing on the D-type was great reference material for this build!
  3. Thank u Chris!
  4. Much appreciated Dann. Your D-type provided some great inspiration for this build!
  5. Thanks Kurt, in general this kit had pretty good parts fit but definitely required alot of parts prep and endless test fitting. Stance and wheel alignment were not issues though so that was a relief. The body/engine/wheels is where I think Profil24’s kit really shines. I’m sure ur Audi will look Sharp when completed!
  6. Amazing build Ismael, seriously looks like you’ve got a real C6R parked in the garage! I enjoyed seeing all the detailing and scratch building on this in the WIP
  7. Hi all, Here is my latest build. It is Profil24's awesome Jaguar D-Type long nose kit. This car, XKD 606, was the second to last factory D-Type built and won first overall at the 1957 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ivor Bueb and Ron Flockhart at the wheel driving for Ecurie Ecosse. The top four places as well as sixth were taken by D-Types. This dominant showing was a big reason I chose to build this particular car. I added a lot of extra detailing including brake and oil lines, engine piping/plumbing, some electric wires and interior bits. Not only was this a very satisfying build, but it allowed me to overcome a fear of resin kits Anyways, here's the build. Be warned.. I had a bit of fun with the camera and took copious pictures.. Thanks for looking in! WIP posted here I also tried making a simple diorama base for the first time. Tried to make the pit area at Circuit de la Sarthe.
  8. Finally DONE with this one. My first time with resin and the kit fighting me all the way made this one quite a challenge but I'm happy with how it turned out. The Profil24 kit is great and provides a lot of room for detailing. I gained a lot of great know-how for future builds and added an absolutely beautiful car to the collection. Thanks to everyone for following along and commenting! Posted in Under Glass here
  9. Coming along nicely!
  10. Nice seat trim and interior detailing Dann!
  11. Welcome back Alex. Awesome build as always, looks beautiful. Btw, Italianhorses.net, in addition to providing great inspiration, has taught me so much and helped me improve my builds drastically. Thanks!
  12. Sharp looking build! The wire wheels look excellent!
  13. Looks great, off-white and interior go together really nicely!
  14. Wow beautiful builds! Both are outstanding
  15. Nice build. Love those wheels!
  16. Incredible build! The trim and finish are superb!
  17. Wow looks awesome great build. All the subtle details and the under carriage are incredible
  18. Matching paint/gloss brands always works. I've used Tamiya clear gloss from the rattle can over Testors Model Master and Model Car World rattle can paints and never gotten any trouble. Never tried Duplicolor products though. Anyways, good luck and keep the WIP updates comin!
  19. Sorry to hear, what brand paint & gloss r u using?
  20. Excited to see more of this masterpiece soon Randy. Simply amazing work - I'm sure Alfieri would be very impressed! I'm working on a resin birdcage kit and your build will be an invaluable resource!
  21. Thanks for the links JC! Very humbling indeed haha Thank you so much Gary, I'll definately give you a ping if any parts are missing!
  22. Looks great to me! Awesome job on the 'Gojira' under the bonnet
  23. Coming along nicely. What color did you use for the body?
  24. Thanks JC. I'm pretty sure resin doesn't shrink over time so I'm gonna trust Andy haha Thanks for the pics Gary, beautiful build. If you have any more pictures of this I'd love to see them! Sometimes with the rough initial resin casts it's hard to imagine a quality build coming out of it but as I can see from your build, this kit looks outstanding. Your kit looks like the exact same version I have. Unfortunately the decals for the no. 6 Telar Special car have seemed to succumb to age. I will have to go with the decals included for Jim Hall's no 66 white car.
  25. Hi all, recently purchased one of Andy Martin’s Birdcage resin kits and I was really surprised at how small the car is. Almost makes the model seem closer to 1/32 scale. From the dimensions listed online and pictures of the car, it does seem like a tiny car. Has anyone had experience with this kit? Is the Birdcage really this small? (and this might seem like a ridiculous question but does resin shrink over time? Haha)
