I suspect so as Gulf started in 1901. It would have been well established by 1922. I did not see the owner at this show and only had a minute of his time the week before in Macungie.

This coming Sunday (6/23/19) there is a show in Brooklyn, CT. It's usually well attended and the weather forecast looks good so far.

No, that's a different show. The Bolton Show was dropped due to a lack of volunteers to make it run. That's what I was told last year. If you don't have the local club members willing to put in the effort to organize, park trucks etc then it doesn't work. It's a shame as it was one of the better shows in New England.

I should get more pics this coming weekend. It's a 1922 Autocar and the owner said he'll be taking it to the Brooklyn, CT show this coming Sunday. I usually get there early and get them driving in. As he lives local to the show, he indicated he was going to drive it to the show, even at 25 mph might be faster than loading and unloading.

I went to the ATHS Annual show in Macungie yesterday. The recipy is this, walk around for 5 or more hours looking at all the diesel candy and get several lifetimes of ideas for models. Then stop by the AITM booth and see Dave. Run credit card to limit buying model parts to build all those projects you'll never live long enough to get to. Oh, there is another way...that Mack COE for $40K!

I know the fifth wheel looks too far back, but if you watch the movie, it's almost off the back of the truck. Guess you can do that with a shell trailer in a movie!

Thanks! Thanks! Thank you Thanks Thanks, it's the AITM kit. If Dave is out of stock, let him know you want one. Just be aware it's not cheap.....but much better to start with than the old ERTL kit.

My take on the movie truck from "Convoy". I started with the AITM resin kit and made some changes. I altered the aircleaner, made new fuel tanks/steps, added the am/fm antenna, added CB antennas, scratch built the mirror brackets, scratch built the air deflector supports. The chrome is a combo of BMF and Molotow liquid chrome. I added clearance lights to the sleeper. Paint is Testor's Aztek gloss black with several coats of Pollyscale clear over. Mudflaps came from Auslowe with kit supplied decals. The photos have dust, forgot to clean it first but black is tough, it shows everything!

This is the first unit truck, before any damage.

Slow progress, just adding a few pieces once in a while and lots of time waiting for the glue to dry. Using mostly white glue at this point, the super glues fog the clear plastic windows and mistakes clean up better. Waiting for some .030 and .040 wire to arrive for the mirrors. Chrome is either BMF or Molotow Liquid Chrome.

I've built a few things 3D printed by Shapeways in their finest material. The technology still isn't up to injection molded quality and I'd say close to resin but I find resin easier to work with. That said, if you need something that isn't available anywhere else, sometimes it's better than nothing. With some extra work, the 3D printed stuff can look ok.

Trucker movie from 1958. Had a pair of KW's and a Mack, all 10 wheelers, hauling rocket fuel thru the desert/mountains. Brian Keith had the lead role. Saw it on AMC last night, never heard of it before.
