  1. Calling this one done, though I might add a pair of CB antennas. Chassis is from an old Pete Wrecker kit I built up 30 years ago. Brockway 361 parts from AITM. Holmes wrecker body from First Gear via Redneckriggeer. Per-lux fog lights, custom light bar for wrecker body. Time will tell if the weight of the metal wrecker body sags the frame. Paint is Testor's Aztek Metallic Blue Pearl over a white base.
  2. Just fyi, my A-Car mixer is the A64B chassis, stock. The wheels/tires from AITM aren't on his website, you have to ask for them. Wish I could remember what he calls them.
  3. AITM makes several sizes and tread patterns. They are resin but turn out nice. I used some on this Autocar mixer build: https://pbase.com/baywing/autocar Moluminum has real rubber tires, be sure to get the rims as well. Orders take a while to fill. Dave at AITM is great to deal with, drop him an e-mail telling him what you want to do and he will suggest something. He has a few styles and sizes that aren't on his website.
  4. Probably a fleet bid.
  5. Nice job, welcome back. I came back after over 30 years away, lots more to choose from now!
  6. We're thinking the same thing. This begs for large, nasty tires!
  7. This might be the final update before this one goes under glass. I'm stalled out for the moment as my Molotow chrome pen ran dry and it'll be a few days until the replacement arrives. I've got the mirrors left and a couple of small details and I'll call it done.
  8. Looks like a GMC Fishbowl.
  9. Minor update, got the windshield glazing in. Went better than I feared, only took 2 tries. The AITM pattern shows 3 sections but I did mine in one. Rolled the curve into the sides with various paintbrushes and other round objects. Just a note, the pattern seems a tad small. Start bigger as it's easier to remove material than add it! Interior is next and will be slow going as I won't use superglue as the fumes fog clear "glass". White glue works fine for most things but has a longish set time.
  10. Count me in, too! Would love a Silver Eagle Model 05......
  11. Well done. I've got one in the que but the paint is going to be tough.
  12. I've done the mirrors from 0.030 brass rod for several builds (Rubber Duck Mack and Autocar mixer). Easier to work with than the soft metal and it scales out better.
  13. Looking great, would you like to do the windshield on my 361? I think I'm going to try to do it in one piece...... I've got a couple of sheets of clear so many mistakes can be made.
  14. Most places prefer the link to keep their server sizes down, but ok.
  15. Thanks, it actually looks better in person. Aztek Blue Pearl acrylic over a white base coat with 2 coats of clear gloss over. The pearl is tough, you can only shoot for a few minutes before the flake starts to settle out. When you get the hang of it, it works very well. I have some things in mind for future builds based on other pearls in their line.
  16. Cab is in paint, working on the interior then on to my favorite part, the windshield. That is the only thing I dread in these builds. Cab details and the finish line is in sight.
  17. Seems like it happens when I try to include a link to my web gallery on PBase.com. When I upload the photo directly, it seems to work.
  18. Quick update, cab is in primer and frame mods almost complete. Will start putting color on the cab when the primer fully sets up.
  19. Just got bit by this trying to update a thread I started.
  20. Very well done, can you drop me a load of screened loam for the weekend?
  21. Looks great. Building trucks can be addicting with the biggest problem being the room they take up when finished!
  22. Looking great. Be sure to use flat black on the hood, anti-glare.
