Helmut, that's quite an incredible model! Super nice. Thanks for sharing.

Phillipe, you really did an outstanding job with the Renault! Beautiful work. Great color choices, very good paint, super clean build. This year Renault reminds me a lot of the '32 Chrysler CH series Imperial. The coach line at the cowl is similar to a Model A Ford, but the fenders, hood sides and grille are very much like the Chrysler. Good looking car.

Ray, Bruce, Lee- Thank you guys. This is was made by Leo Models, distributed by Whitebox in England and Europe. I picked mine up from a vendor in Italy. It comes fully assembled. I took it all apart, sanded and polished the paint on the body, and repainted everything else. I lowered it 1.5mm and replaced the wheels and tires. I adapted better ones from a Danbury Mint Ferrari Testa Rossa. The brake drums are flat washers from Home Depot. The floor is carpeted with Kens Fuzzy Fur. Trimed it with a Molotow chrome pen. Engine detail painted, distributor modified to add Detail Master plug wires. Photographed outdoors in evening light, here in California.

Thanks, Zen! I'm tempted to do just a few more mods. I think I'll make up some 1934 license plates for it, add cowl lights, add horns, and a rear view mirror. Changes I've made so far: I've gone over the grille and panel lines with black Tamiya 'Panel-Line-Accent-Color' Painted the bumper brackets gloss black. Painted the interior flat black in areas that were red; the A-pillars, door frames, headliner. Painted the rubber portions of the running boards flat black. Took apart the wheels and tires so I could paint the glossy sides walls flat black. Went over the wheels with black panel liner to give the spokes some depth, then re-touched them with yellow, then clear gloss. Put her back together and shot some pictures. The 'before' pictures at the bottom were on ebay.

Next batch of photos are out of the box. It looked pretty good. I just gave it a little more detail. Something fun to do on a Sunday afternoon.

29 Model T Truck
Hoffman replied to dsummone's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Dave, your best bet to replicate a stock '29 A closed cab pick will require two kits: 1) Revell '29 A pickup 2) AMT '29 A roadster -
Very, very nice, Andrew! Great job. ?

Excellent! Thanks, Robert. ?

Robert, beautiful work! Could you describe for us your technique for the black wash on the engine and chassis components? It's really well done, adds a lot to the depth and realism of things.

That works really well! Great idea....

Cool project, A-G! -
Thank you, Noel! Yes, I have several of the Burago coupes. I'll be using them to replicate #57591, the Richard Pope coupe as it appeared before Ralph Lauren changed it, and #57473, the Jack Holtzschuch Coupe.

Hello Guys, Just a quick post. This car was lurking in the background with a '33 Cadillac convertible coupe I'm building. For this '32, the wheelbase was shortened from a scale 149" to 143". The base model is Monogram's '32 V16 dual-cowl phaeton. Adapted to that is the cowl, windshield and front doors from the Italeri '33 Cadillac town car. The rear deck is Johan '31 Cadillac convertible coupe, grafted in. This weekend I've been stuck on conference calls night and day, so I decided to see if I could make some progress on the Cadillac at the same time. Working on the top, it's mostly Johan Mercedes 500K, made taller, longer, and the sides angled in to line up with the windshield. Don't barf! It's still in the ugly stage, but it's coming along.

That looks pretty good, Gary! Thanks to you and Snake for sharing. My first thought was, what if you combined one of these with parts from an Aurora DB4. I've got a Doyusha DB5 already, but I think I'll go ahead and pick up one of the green Motormax versions too.

Great job, Andrew!!

Helmut, David and Thiery, thank you so much, Gentlemen!! I appreciate it. I've got two more Atalante coupes in progress. Both will be based on the red/black offerings from Franklin Mint, but both will be reworked and in different colors. One will feature Fernando Pinto wheels the other will be a replica of #57562 with covered wheels. Incidentally, #57383 has shorter height front fenders, compared to many of the other 57S Bugattis. The model is accurate here, compared to the original, but it is different from most of the other cars. Helmut's side profile of the red and black version illustrates this very well. Notice how the grille shell and hood are taller than the front fender? The Burago rendition of the #57591 Atlantic coupe has taller fenders that capture the shape of the original really well. Anyway, works in progress, mixing and matching to mimic the full size cars. More to follow....
