  1. I'm actually rattle canning and polishing the gloss. I dont like that route but that's what he wanted. I was thinking of alclad too. And since it's already going to have a coat of gloss black, it already has the base coat in theory. I havent used BMF before but do like the idea of polishing it and blending it to make it seemless.
  2. It's a project I'm working on for my friend. He has an audi s4 he's done some work on. He asked me about painting his dash. I told him what I know to get a decent job. I paint plenty of plastics obviously. So he went to it.... well needless to say he ended up painting everything. He got real hung up on his second coat and when he pulled off the masking he didnt like what he saw so he blasted the whole thing gloss black. He said he was just going to buy a new one. I said dude you drive a new audi... you aren't just going to pick up a new dash unless you pay an arm and a leg and possibly 18 teeth.... so I took it from him. I need some advice on painting a silver trim on the gauge housing. As you can see I started going around with a molotow pen but it doesnt transfer smooth enough. I've stripped the paint off and sanded and primed. Painted the face panel but need to smoother it out and shoot a second coat on that. Then I sanded and primed the gauge bezel and GPS housing. The bezel will be gloss and the GPS will be semi gloss.
  3. I'm excited to see that as well.
  4. Yeah that hood is pretty wild. Luckily I work at a machine shop so I can get shim stock to have a rigid work piece. Although I'm more than sure I'll need a couple hoods to get it.
  5. Seems attainable. I think the hardest part will be color matching.
  6. Itll be an interesting build. Mostly bodywork. Interior is pretty normal.
  7. I plan on building the d&z customs "project envious" camaro. However I'm not basing mine off the Baldwin. I sort of wish I was but I am using the 70 z/28 from amt. But I'm buying some things here and there for it. I'll be following along as i love this year as well!
  8. The gt500 I didnt make the same mistake lol
  9. I really regret not paying more attention to the glue I was using on the windows. I havent done that since I was 15. Oh well. Like I said the 50 will make up for it! Thank you for the compliment.
  10. Being born in '85 I basically grew up in a camaro. My mother had an 84 berlinetta. I loved that car. But nothing compared to the infamous iroc! I remember being on Hampton beach in NH and seeing a fire hawk. The new body style. I didnt know how to feel. But overall I like them over the camaro. And you're right! It's crazy to the think it's been 25 years?
  11. Those 500 wheels need some depth. Too shiny...?
  12. O... I suppose....
  13. Really didnt do the camaro any favors. It started so strong too. But I wasnt deeply invested in it. It's a curbside kit. No motor. No real suspension... just blah.... but.... I do have a 50th that will redeem the lime green. The shelby however... is my best build so far... challenge accepted!
  14. After a little refresh...
  15. Original paint when I was about 15....
  16. Very close on the color!
  17. Certainly not as nice as yours! Mine has different pattern than yours tho. IRC the model I built was the 97 formula
  18. Man @mrmike this is incredible!!! Looks like a sema build! Flawless!!! If this was a 1:1 it's easily a 100k car!!!!
  19. Great lines on this build! Super sharp!
  20. I dig it!!! I finally got the mirrors for mine. However I feel like they're somewhat a 1/24 part on a 1/25 car. And mines aren't body colored although close to.
  21. You sir are crazy or a genius. I thought I knew what you were doing with the spoons. But the other half of me thought... that's gonna need some tweaking but totally doable. Then... 1 spoon becomes 2.... what's this? What a twist! I like it!
