Seems like quite the undertaking, but not I'mpossible. Probably have better results with a larger scale. Tho larger is more expensive. Someday I'll own another 1/8 iroc. Wish I appreciated what I had when I had it.

And yes. I've used cardboard too with great results. I used to use felt but it never looked right.

Lol sorry wasnt trying to be a jerk. I very much could've worded that differently. It would've been the z my friends and I drove when we were 18.

As you can see it was all black and silver... ish inside when I built it years ago. Then I wanted to try the card trick. This is what came out.

As for my interior I use colored card stock thru a cheese grater. I pick my color, fold up my card stock paper. Shred it. I put a piece of computer paper under my grater to catch my carpeting. I usually paint where I'm carpeting the same color as the carpet. Let dry. Brush on Elmer's white glue (its acrylic so water wash up) now here's where the magic happens. Your going to hold a piece of screen over where you just glued. Put your shredded paper on the screen and move it around and the dust/smaller particles will fall thru the screen onto the glue. Once enough is in there press lightly and let dry. Tap off the access by tapping the interior upside down on a counter. Dont do the whole tub at once. Do one side then the other then the trunk lid

Like I said it's very much a work in progress but you can see the passengers side has much more going for it than the drivers.

I've relearned a thing or 2 about testors contour putty that I didnt know when I was younger. My girlfriend accidentally turned my 300zx into a convertible that a 18 y/o would drive. So I had to make a body kit for it and bring it back to life. Since nobody makes a body kit for it.... I dug out the ole putty and got to work. The first side I did although theres much more to be done... leaves something to be desired. Once I figured it out the other side came out much better. I think if you have patience it's perfect for the interior.

Interesting from the top...

I've always wanted to pillar a car. My personal advice would be to use tamiya putty or something like that. Contour putty... that way you can... contour <---- ?♂️? it the way you want vs having to shave/sand the styrene. I have upholstered more of my interiors than not and have found a neat cheap trick. I didnt think of the trick so I wont take credit. I'll also post that for you if you'd like. It's time consuming but looks good. As for connecting the pillars, just take your time. I'd reccomend plastiweld or something. Could always use gel type super glue and build it up to the pillar to connect it. That way you don't have extra material you dont need for the clearance issue, and it'll provide solid structure/reinforcement for the roof. Again just a few suggestions. I do love the door idea tho. Gonna have to give it a go. I have a 67 z28 I'm am scribing out the doors on.

?if you look around online, theres some sites that cater to the hobby. Such as modelcargarage and pegasus hobbies. -
@cruz what is that cutlass you have? Is that the revell 442? I've never seen that cool deck lid before.

+1 on BNL. just be advised that they wont do custom work. Understandably so considering the work they have to do as is. I like the look of scenes unlimited also but havent worked with them. Jimmy flintstone has some good bodies too. I just started working with photo etched stuff. Whole different animal. That's like a whole model kit in itself just to do a brake job. -
Interesting! I like the concept. I think I could do that. However.... now that brings me to a new question lol, what are you planning for the windshield pillars? Did you cut them to access the door?

How are you hinging your doors?

I've never built an amt '69. Just the '67 & '68. The '67 I had, had a real pain of a smoke window on the passengers.... I think.... either way one of them was difficult but other than that it went together "ok". Very lackluster in the detail department tho.

Love what you've done with your goats. The vette aside I like how you've basically achieved what the original builder was going for. That being said, I really enjoy that vette. I see your hood was doing the same thing mine was doing too. -
I like the tip. However I tend to use a small flat file to get where I need to be before clearing the openings.

You can find some pretty decent resin parts on ebay. Leaf springs, axles, brakes, turbos, transfer cases, motors, bodies, diorama pieces, tires and more... they'll need some cleaning up when you get them depending on who casts them. Theres a set of swampers I want to get for the dodge when I start it. I'll also need a front axle since the truck is 2wd out of the box. -

Lol hindsight is always 20/20. But also the way we learn. I tend to "build" my models quite a bit as I'm going to see how everything is jiving together. I have a ram vts pickup I had done a long time ago and hated it. So I bought another since I had lost the original. I dont mind the remake. Came out a bit darker than I wanted but I rolled with it. Now I have another vts kit. However.... this one wont be a 2wd sport truck. I'll be jacking it up. Lots and lots of fabbing parts up as the 96 ram has boxed upper and lower control arms for the front axles.... which nobody makes.... so I have to... -
Thanks man! I'll certainly post it. I have been on a short hiatus this year as I've made a few life changes. Bought a condo, a dog, and a new truck.... go big or go home right??? Lol but yeah I'll be hopping back in shortly.
