  1. The other kits I remember as a kid were the giant insect monster kits. There was a Tarantula, a scorpion, a preying mantis, and a Hornet. I know that 3 of them were re-produced a few years ago, but the hornet was not because the tooling was lost for the wings.(or so I've been told) I have the complete set. The tarantula is built. (i'll post some pics later), the scorpion is in progress, and the other 2 are still in the boxes.
  2. Thank you very much. If there are any manufacturers listening out there. These pirate kits need to be re-produced. I'd buy them...again!!
  3. I was really on the fence about this one, but after seeing the Hornet stock car, I am definitely getting this one. It's really nice to get the chance to build some of the history from NASCAR's early years.
  4. Cruz, I love the new venue. That small dining room is especially nice. Great to sit, relax, and BS with fellow modellers. Any idea on next years theme yet?
  5. Hey Doc, This has been a fantastic build to follow. I love the idea. Gotta ask...for the $$, did you just photo reduce actual currency? Can't wait to see the finished product.
  6. This is a really neat thread. It seems like the perfect place to ask a question. When I was a kid, I remember a buddy of mine having a couple of kits that were from Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. If I remember correctly, they all had some sort of action to them. Does anybody else remember these kits?
  7. The contingency decals you see on the front fenders of the cup cars are minor sponsors of the series. You actually get these decals from NASCAR, and the package comes with a diagram showing you where each decal is supposed to go. NASCAR does this all the way down to the local weekly racing series. (Late Models). Nice photo of a rare moment.
  8. I'd love to know how this car got to Japan.
  9. Very nice build. This was always one of my favorite race cars.
  10. Brendan, As my fellow club member has already eloquently stated, PACM (Phila. Area Car Modelers) meets on the first friday of every month on Roosevelt Blvd in North East Philadelphia. It's probably a 20 to 30 minute ride for you. We are a SIG (Special Interest Group) of the Delaware Valley Scale modelers (DVSM). Here is a link to the DVSM site http://www.dvsm.org/
  11. As usual, the Philly Boyz were in attendance in force. We had a great time. Lyle Willits and the MAMAs boys put on another great show. Here's a link to my photos from the show. http://public.fotki.com/El-Tanque/model-shows/mid-atlantic-nnl-2012/ Please enjoy!!
  12. Great Pics Dave. Thanks for posting them.
  13. Cruz, Great shots Man. I can't believe that I never got a chance to talk to you on Sat. Man, that day really flew by. I know I'll see you in a few weeks at the Mid-Atlantic NNL!
  14. Hey Doc, If it was Sunday night, he would have been singing "Turn out the Light, the Party's Over...and the Penguins are going golfing" LOL!!
  15. Holy Cow, those are amazing. No wonder I couldn't get near your table at NNL East on Saturday. I hope they sold well for you.
  16. Great Shots Dave. Glad I missed the talent portion of the evening. It was bad enough that the Flyers lost that night, I couldn't handle this as well. GOOD TIME!!!
  17. Lookin forward to it. We're gonna miss you Wheels. (Now...if I can just get some massive overtime between now and that show.)
  18. Great photos! Looks like it was a pretty good show. I like the AMC Matador. Nice build. All of them look great.
  19. Doc, If I'm not mistaken, this piece won the award for the Hudson web theme.
  20. Glad I could bring the show home as it were. I took almost 450 photos, and I wasn't anywhere close to getting everything. Man there were a lot of models.
  21. As long as the leaky pipe was not endangering any styrene, or more to the point any decals, I would have said go to the show. The leak would still be there when you got back. LOL!!
  22. Nice shots Dan. I know what you mean about the temp. It was a bit warm in there yesterday. Hope your back is feeling better today.
  23. Great shots. Thanks for posting.
