Monty, It's the Revell 40 Ford Standard coupe. I cut the trunk open and added the rear...um...bulkhead if you will. The boxes in the trunk were made for me by a buddy of mine, MCM contributor, and fellow board mate, Mike Napoleon. Mike makes some killer dioramas, and a lot of them usually have some sort of box, magazine, etc in them. I sent Mike the graphics, he reduced them and created the boxes as a flat sheet. I simply cut them out, bent them up, and white glued them together.

Finally finished it over the weekend. Still working on the still though. (???) Anyway, here's some shots. I have some scale mason jars coming for the open box. Custom tag Here's a link to the complete album. Whiskey a GO-GO!

Went to this little car show yesterday with some buddies. Here's a link to some of the pics. Northeast Custom Car Show Even managed to spot one of those rare American Hobos you hear about. Though a strange looking creature, they should be considered relatively harmless. "hmmm...point other end toward subject, look through the little window, press button, wait for flash..."

Shell Ferrari commercial
Tommy Kortman replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Is that 312 (?) running through the streets of Japan the sweetest sound in the world or what. Also interesting to note that the RPMs just kept getting higher throughout the commercial. LOVED IT!!!! -
Had a GREAT time yesterday. Here are some more photos from our annual end of winter get together. And here's a link to even more pics from the event. ENJOY!!!! The Big Sit - 2011

Tommy Kortman replied to my66s55's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You can also get it from Hobby Search. Heres the link Kosutte Ginsan The wheels on the Porsche were done with this stuff. I love this stuff. -
Glad to have you back. I know all about having to be away from your home, family, and hobbies with medical issues. Of course in my case, my "friends" were already fighting over who got what in the collection. I guess that's what friends are for. Anyway, best wishes for continued good health.

Tamiya sprays
Tommy Kortman replied to Mike Kucaba's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Maybe it's the environment where they are being shot. I have never had an issue with the Tamiya sprays. I love them. The best finish I had was shot outside real quick one day. The temp was about 85 or 90 but the humidity was low (around 50 or 60%). It went on so good, I did not need to clear it, I just polished it a little. Could it also possibly just be a bad production run? -
New hot rod movie coming in 2011!
Tommy Kortman replied to Rick R's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What in God's name was that garbage? That junk couldn,t carry American Grafitti's lunch. Shoot, Hollywood Knights was even better than that slop. -
On Sat. this past weekend (11/06/10). A few of us went down to the Simeone Museum here in South Phila. for another one of their "Legends of Motorsports" days. This time they were highlighting the Porsche 917. They also brought in legendary racing driver Vic Elford. For those of you who are maybe to young to know, Mr. Elford has driven in and won in almost every form of auto racing. He has won the Monte Carlo Rally, He has won the 12 hours of Sebring in 1971, He won the Watkins Glen Trans-Am race in 1970. Vic has raced in F1, Endurance (24h of LeMans), Can-Am, Trans-Am, and even NASCAR. He was a real joy to talk to. The highlight of the day was watching Vic drive the 917 around the museum's "Test track". He also drove a replica of his '67 Monte Carlo winning 911s and the Havoline 962. Here are some pics and a link to many more photos. There are some great reference photos of the 911s, the 917, and the 962. Please enjoy!!! Here's Vic in the 917. This car finished 2nd at Le Mans in 1970 and still holds the lap record. And here is Vic piloting the 962. These cars sounded great, and the fuel (CAM 2?) smelled wonderful. Here's a link to many more photos. Simeone Museum LoM-917

The PACM (aka the Philly Boyz) were asked to help out at the Simeone Museum last week, The Museum asked us to come down and put on a display for their 2 day collectibles show. We were ably assisted by members of Jersey Shore, MAMAs, and Silent traffic. We had a wonderful time. We all love being at the museum. Here are some pics, and a like to my photos from the museum (There are a boaat load of them) Most of the cars are displayed in life size dioramas. As great as this place is, (and it is fantastic), we all got a special treat on Sat. We all got to meet Can-Am Legend and Auto World owner Oscar Koveleski. He is a true character. His mind is going a hundred miles an hour in four different directions. (Before I forget, he said to tell Gregg HELLO!!) Here is Oscar and fellow MCM board member John Stark. The plans are already in the works for next year. We are talking to the museum about holding a model contest next year during the event. Here's the link to more of my photos from that day. ENJOY!! Excellence of Speed show.

Well, i guess I did better than I thought. I not only finished the radiator, but it is installed, and the body is now on the chassis. Still have to do the exhaust though. Almost ready to start hauling 'shine. I was also able to get a little better shot of the pistol on the front seat. I think that'll be all for tonight. The ballgame comes on in just about an hour. (Go Phillies!!) Hopefully more tomorrow.

I'm sorry that it's been so long since I've updated this thread. It sucks when real life interfears with your hobby. Anyway, I,ve been able to make some small progress on the coupe. The grille and headlights are in, the glass is in, and the interior has been installed. Here are some recent shots. The grille is a P/E peice from Model Car Garage. It is a royal pain to get right. I used the kit grill as a buck so I could get the compund curve correct. "Now where did I put that scale English wheel?" In the end I had to mount the P/E grill to the kit on with 5 min epoxy and then assemble both to the body. Hope it looks OK. I added the .45 to the front seat before I installed the interior tub. (Couldn't get the camera to focus on the gun though.)There will also be a double barrel shotgun added before we're all said and done. According to reasearch, the letters in the emblems should be blue for a standard coupe. They would be red for a deluxe. Staring to detail the radiator. I've added some paint chips here. I will be adding a P/E radiator cap and the all to often forgotten overflow hose. More to come soon. If I'm lucky, I may have some more pics before the weekend is up.

Current Barrett-Jackson auction
Tommy Kortman replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The gentleman that bought the VW bus was the gentleman selling the Veyron. It does appear that the looser bidding on and winning the Veyron did not have the $$. Jackson agreed to buy the car so that the consigner did not get screwed. Jackson said he would sell the Veyron to anyone who wanted it. -
Andy, Nice Willys man. Where have you been? we really miss you down @ Del-val. It's great to see that your still building. Keep up the great work.
