  1. Ron, That dio looks great. The source of the mason jars is Linden Swiss Miniatures. They sell 1/2 scale dollhouse stuff.
  2. Ryan, the air cleaner is a resin peice from Replicas and Miniatures Co. of Md. The valve covers came from there too. Thanks!!
  3. The Philly Guyz are working out the logistics now. we hopr to be there.
  4. It is the Revell of Germany kit. Built straight out of the box.
  5. Cruz, Another nice job Bro. I have always loved that color.
  6. WOW!!! That is an amazing job. The detail work is off the chart. I would love to know how you did the font lic plate bracket. This is a beautiful ride. Cant wait to see some more of your stuff.
  7. "Build 'em all...let God sort it out!" Wait...that's not right. Anyway Chuck, that is a sweet ride. I love the color and the stance. Another nice job sir.
  8. Shane, That looks great. We all know of thing on our own models that we dont like. It's just one of the things that hopefully keep you (the modeler) striving to get better with every build. If I had to guess, I would say you are probably worried about the door gaps...dont be, they look fine. It is a very clean build, it looks great, the detailing looks spot on, and you should be rightfully proud of it. NICE JOB!
  9. I have had this kit on the shelf and half finished for over a year. It was delayed because I was procrastinating about finishing the wheels. Yes, I know i could have used those stupid wheel covers, but the BBS wheels look so nice. Plus, I really don't like those dumb wheel covers on any car. I know they are aerodynamically better, and i know that most cars ran them but...MY CAR MY RULES Anyway I was able to finish the wheels after a good buddy of mine (and fellow board member), Ariel Hernandez purchased some Kosutte Ginsan (at least I think that's the name. It's the only English on the whole box.)from Japan. This is a black powder that buffs up to chrome as you rub in on the gloss black base coat. (I think it would probably work over any base cost color) It is fantastic stuff. I am amazed! The car is painted with Tamiya rattle can bright orange. The car is a curbside with no motor provided. I built it out of the box with only a scratch built set of seat belts(which you cant see ) and some Scale Motorsport Hi-def carbon fibre decals around the rear defuser. I hope you like it. Here's a closer look at the wheels.
  10. Brett, You are absolutely correct sir! That is exactly what went through my mind when I named this project. You have an amazing psychic gift. OK, what am I thinking now?
  11. Thanks guys. First of all, yes the decals are cleared over. I used the Tamiya rattle can clear. I love that stuff. It dries quick, and DOESN'T yellow. That's pretty important if your working with white. Second, I used both Micro Set and Micro Sol for getting the decals to settle down. What i usually do is apply the "Set" to the model before I place the decal on the plastic. I think this helps the decal to snuggle in a little better. If I need to get the decal to work in around some surface irregularities, then I will use the Micro Sol. I did this with the door numbers in particular. I also used a hair dryer set on low to really work the decals in.
  12. I have managed to get a little more done on the coupe. I was able to get the running boards painted and some Bare Metal Foil on the body. I have also started putting some of the Model Car Garage photo-etched details on the body. I also converted the kit's 6 volt battery to a 12 volt system and I have now added some battery cables. I also wired and installed the voltage regulator on the firewall. Bare Metal Foil applied: You can also see that I've started painting the headliner. 13. Well, the 3 week rush build is finished. I was able to take it to my IPMS meeting last night for the Asian themed contest. Some of you may have seen this in progress over "On the Workbench" so here are the completed photos. The number decals were a ... bear to get right. They are in 3 pcs. Luckily, the decals take the setting solution very well. This model was built straight from the box with 1 er rather 4 small exception(s). I used 4 Slixx tire decals. (RF,RR,LF,LR) The kit went together extremely well. Typical Tamiya engineering quality. Please enjoy. Thanks!!
  14. Got some more progress done on the NSX. THe interior is finished and installed to the chassis. The wheels and tire are mounted, and I have started decaling the body. (This will probably take 2 sessions.) Anyway...here's some more pics, Enjoy! I'll post some more as soon as I get the decals complete. Next up is the glass.
  15. This will be the full race version. I guess I shouldn't have labeled that one picture as "completed body". I guess I should have said "waiting for decals". Thanks to everybody for the kind words.
  16. Sure Steve. I base painted the interior with Polly Scale Rail Road colors. (it's a acrylic paint..and I cant remember the exact color...which is not good since I still have to do the headliner...NUTS!) Once that was dry I sealed them with Testors Dull Coat. (This allows for an acrylic wash to be used over acrylic paint)I made the wash with burnt umber. (I rarely ever use black for a wash because it tends to gray out the original color. When I make a wash, I always put in one drop of dish washing liquid; it breaks the surface tension of the water and allows the wash to flow easier. Since I sealed the original paint with dull coat, I will also run a brush with clean tamiya thinner down the seams where I will put the wash. This also helps out the flow. Once this was done I simply "dusted the interior with pastel chalks. Since the interior wont be handled when the model is finished, there was no reason to seal the pastels. If you were going to use the pastels on the exterior of the model, it would be wise to seal them. Usually with Dull Coat. I hope this helps.
  17. Replicas and Miniatures Company of Md. makes a duvall windshield for the roadster.
  18. Just a quick question. How many different models of the 59 Cadillac did Monogram - Revell - Revell/Monogram produce? I have a 59 Eldorado Convertible, and an Eldo Seville? Did they make any more? Thanks.
  19. Very nice job. The paint looks fantastic.
  20. This should be amazing, LeeLee. I'll be watching...and WAITING.
  21. Shucky, It looks good so far. I cant wait to see this one progress.
  22. Started a new project this week. This is going to be a box stock build. The IPMS club I belong to has a monthly theme contest. September's theme is "The Orient Express". This means any Asian subject is allowed. I realized that i do not have any Japanese cars built, so I am going to try and get this one done in less than a month.(About a 1/3 of my normal build time). It's Tamiya's Mobil 1 NSX. It looks to be a pretty simple OoB build. You gotta love Tamiya's engineering. Anyway, like I said, this will be a simple build. I am addopting the model rail roaders code on this one..."If you cant see it...dont model it". Please Enjoy. The Engine and rear suspension is a little jewel. It looks complcated, but it isn't. Front Suspension: Chassis plate after painting: Completed body: Body and suspension test fit: First mock-up with wheels and tires. Wheels and tires still need to be finished: Here's a link to a couple more photos. Fotki Mobil 1 NSX
