AMT freightliner FLC rebox italeri kit .
PierreR89 replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
If they added just 6 extra parts in their version they would have 3 different versions of this truck in one kit. You could build it as the FLC version, Conventional version and conventinal aerodyne. For that to happen they just have to add the 2 longer sleeperwalls and roof from a conventional kit, for the aerodyne they can just add that roof as it is one piece with spoiler molded in it. Then the 2 clear windows for the aerodyne roof. They could even skip on the windows as most of us should have enough left over clearparts to modify something or make your own. I wonder why they did not do that as it seems as they like to do 2 in one kits and they would probably be first with a 3 in one truckkit. -
Kenworth T600
PierreR89 replied to PierreR89's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I ended up building it like the lower with the twin turbos as that was the only way it would look good and not having parts mounted in the air. I just think it is odd that 2 instructions for the same kit and from the same year show different ways to assemble it. With my irl verion i would not have got the engine and turbo together. Also step 33 in my manual shows how to put the frame together again after boht sections are complete. Step 32 show that in the online manual + that i should use a stepplate part 238 (forgot the name) to hide and possibly support the frameparts I have that part but its only half the size + the exhaust pipes are way different in each manual. So i wonder what happend? If my kit is a earlier version and the online manual is a later one where they corrected alot of things. I use both anyways so i can crosscheck to see what manual makes more sense sofar its about 50/50 -
Mack Superliner Wrecker

Sure, here you go. The winchdrums could easily be modified so that they spin and work as on a real truck if you want to. They are seperate pieces. Here is the hingepoint for the boom arm when it is folded in for transport Could be movable if you dont use the moulded wire in the kit that i used. -
I started this a few weeks ago but there are so much wierd things in the instructions so i decided i wanted to share them. The front frame half is almost complete and the engine just needs paint now. Now for the wierd parts in the instrucions. Both of them are for the T600 with the 7528 revell number and printed the same year 1991. One was included in the unopend kit and the other was from internet that i found after some searching. First the one from the kit Now the one from the internet, remember they the have same number and same printingyear: Notice anything? Also the engine could not be built as it is shown in the irl manual as the turbo and pipework would not work at all

Calling this one done for now. Just going to order some other wheels and tires + stoneguard and bugshields some extra lights for the bullbar and see if i can find a better looking chain to have hanging on the bullbar. The pintjob is inspired from the Australian bicentennial Mack Superliners.

Mini big rig gas truck
PierreR89 replied to cobraman's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nice. I have always wanted to build one of these just to have something more odd then those i have. (Hard to find anything more odd looking then the Lonestar) This kit was just rereleased again or am i wrong? -
Wrecker truck
PierreR89 replied to PierreR89's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Paintjob is complete exept for some small cleanup that i need to do. Only thing left to paint is the cable so that it looks like a steelecable should. Then it is just small details like doorhandles and hinges for the storageboxes on the wrecker body and all the lights that it is going to have. -

AMT Kenworth T600A Canepa
PierreR89 replied to iamsuperdan's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nice. I have to admit that after seeing this and the other T600 posted i got inspired to build my own. Only have the front framehalf and engine completed for it but its atleast something. -
Wrecker truck
PierreR89 replied to PierreR89's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Did some more small things on this truck. Added the fueltanks and stacks + lights on the hood. Did also run the pipes for the non exisitng intercooler (might make one in the future) and made a new downpipe for the exhaust. But i think i have to do something about the height of the wreckerbody now that i testfitted it with wheels on the truck. It looks a little to high? -

Not done much to it for a few weeks. But i put in the engine in it and are going to start to hook up the radiator and exhaust. -
They are talking about from the box for the hideout truck. Above his arm there are a Bandag logo on the door for the truck. There should also be a blue Bandag text with all the other texts on the sides of the truck + one big Bandag on the rear wall of the transporter part that faces the Bandit once it sits there They have also removed the "Detroit Diesel Allison" from the sides.

AMT Rebox of the Italeri 378 Long Hauler
PierreR89 replied to Casey429's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Thats good to know that you can do that with this kit. I am waiting untill i have seen your video of it to decide if i want to buy it. I did not buy the Italeri verison because i just did not like the box for some reason, it looked booring somehow, just a truck sitting in a driveway. -
AMT Rebox of the Italeri 378 Long Hauler
PierreR89 replied to Casey429's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
The multipart cabs are not that difficult to assemble. When i build them i usually testfit the cabparts to eachother first and fix any problems there might be (almost never anything exept some flash) and then when i know it fit togheter i paint the cabparts. While those are drying i start to build the interior of the cab and after all paint have dried i assemble the cab by starting with one of the sidepanels and floorpan, then i just go in a circle untill it is complete and straight. The roof can wait untill last because it just sits ontop and does nothing the keep the cab togheter, i usually use it to check it everything is straight and are not leaning anywhere it should not. Then glue it on or leave it removable, all my cab roofs are glued on as they sometimes dont sit flush with the walls and have to be held down while the glue does its thing The sleeper is easier then the cab. Those i also paint before i assemble them and when i start assembling them i start with the backwall and then i look for the driverside wall as it is the one that also help to hold the bed up. After i have found them i glue the backwall and sidewall to eachother, then i put in the bed and glue it to where it goes, that way the bed will help hold those parts togheter and then you can put in the floor and continue building the walls. Leaving the roof for last once again and just leave it loose to have it removable, there are tabs that goes in to but out sections on the inside of the walls, (i think you have seen them if you have looked at the parts) Or glue it on. I have some that are removable but most of them i glue on because there is really not much to look at inside the sleeper. -
What modern US truckkit exists?
PierreR89 replied to PierreR89's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No problems. If you dont ask you never get to know, right? Anyway, i think it would be easy to modify the one you have to be an aerodyne sleeper, since the sleeper is built up from 6 different pieces, walls, floor and roof. It would probably cost revell to much to make a whole new tool for the entire sleeper so i am guessing they just made a new roof and added that huge spoiler to it. So if you get the aerodyne roof from the W900 snapkit it would most likley fit with just some small mods done to it. Maybee even the K100 aerodyne will work? And since i have all 3 i can compare the aerodyne roofs to eachother if you want? -
So, i have no idea what this thing is they use in this add, but i do know that i do not want to see it while eating and browsing on my phone.. For those that do not understand Swedish it says" chock, they have discovered a cure for overwight/obese" and some other complete BS... And then they have this pic of something to get you interested.... I have never searched about that subject on my phone. ever... so its not based from search history. This is the site that it is linked to. I dont mind ads if it is for normal things, the other adds i got whlie looking for this to show up again was for some site where you can buy/rent heavy machinery Another for some site that sold aluminuim/steel in bulk to whoever wants to buy and a few car ads, those i dont mind at all and almost think it is natural that they show up here thanks to some builds that are posted here. But that thing dont really belong here.

So who here is going to be the first to build one and add a ton of led,s to it to make it look like one of the trucks and trailers in the commercial they use to run during christmas? Because thats what i would do if i could get a bunch of small led,s cheap. -

I got the T600 yesterday and only looked at what was in the box today. Then i looked in the instructions for it and the very first step is to cut the frame in half? After i looked some more in the box i found a note from Revell that listed alot of partnumbers that are not being used on this kit. Normally they just black out the parts in the instructions but apparently it was easier to blackmark the parts being used and add that note telling what is not being used. I counted the parts not being used and it was over 70 different parts. So for those who need alot of random truckparts as spares (including doors) this kit is great. -
I could not wait for the rerelease so i bought another papa truck and decals from modeltruckin The only not rereleased in the pic is the Bandag Bandit. They do look great standing next to eachother.

Have anyone noticed that there is some random popup ad that will take over the entire screen when visiting on a phone? It started happening today, i got it 2-3 times and each time when i pushed on the return button it took me all the way out from the site... When i tried to enter again everything was normal... Ads like that is why i am seriously considering getting adblocker for the phone to... Small ads att the top or bottom is no problem. But a gigant popup ad that blocks everything is NOT okey...

Where did you get those tires from?

I completly forgot about the Western Star. I decided that i had to try and build a T600 but not the AMT version and found one from revell instead. Its this one: From what i found when i looked it up it is from the late 80,s based on the style of the sleeper so it was older then i thought. But i like the aerodyne sleeper more then the one that is in the T600 big sleeper and AMT,s kits Have anyone here built this kit?
