I know a couple of former cops, who will not wear seat belts. Recently he told me they were always in the way of his gun, and when in pursuit, wanted to exit the car quickly. So it was a habit. I feel like I'm floating around the cabin without it. When I did track time with my MINI Cooper, got a 4 point belt, which did not retract, I was pinned to the seat, which actually helped with steering because I wasn't clinging for dear life when hammering corners. Then I kept it in the car permanently, thought I would die if I got in a wreck with the normal belt and got hurt. Now I'm back to normal with the Honda.

I was contemplating getting one of these, but because it's an AMT, thought not. The convertible model is cute.

This is truly awesome! For starters, I didn't know these existed, must pull collector prices close to Nomad levels? I appreciate the effort, research and workmanship. Can you post an underside picture? I also have a soft spot for these wagons. My dad's father got this new, and had it until a couple years before he died, traded for a "Chevy" LUV. I also owned a 4 door 210 wagon, it still had the Stovebolt 6 and Powerglide.

Gawd, that looks HUGE! I've rented Jeeps in Ouray CO, and Moab Utah. I admired their capability. But they were 2 doors, which is important for rugged rock crawling. And good thing I rented in Moab, it must have broken a tie rod because it shimmied bad after doing Moab Rim. There is also a new used Jeep dealer in town, with a nice selection of modified Jeeps, glad I can't afford them. LOL

Sad to find this out. But as my undocumented wife's husband was fond of saying while fighting a brain tumor for 6 years, "life's not for everyone." That's why we must make the most with the cards we are dealt. He didn't drive, now that's a trip! -

Up to 22 pages, yea, don't think I'll ever build mine. I did look at the Hobby Design detail parts that I got, that could have saved you some time, but I love what you have done so far!

Which part of the body are we talking about? Sorry, couldn't resist.

I have that kit, still sealed (I think), now I need to worry about the vents? I also have the Fujimi 1/16 scale kit, but I would never do this to it. Many years ago, the AZ Copperstate Rally stopped in Prescott, took a couple pictures (with the SLR and slide film, that's how long ago) of a vintage GTO that was a convertible, will do that to one of my kits. Look forward to seeing this come together!

Glad to see the formerly known as Red Baron exhaust tips were drilled out. Did you cut thin strips of decal to do the candy cane tie rods? Fun model!

Some talk on car movies.

Well, I live about 150 miles south of the Grand Canyon, so that is just a ditch, didn't want to offend anyone. Interesting about the bridge! -

My all-time favorite is still Gumball Rally. Who wouldn't like to drive as fast as possible all the way across the country? It has a Ferrari Daytona with the sweetest exhaust note echoing off NYC's canyons, with arc nemesis Shelby Cobra. You have a cast of different crazy characters to add variety. But the best part for me, is the locations, starts in NYC, then jumps to Arizona, namely my town of Prescott was used for some scenes. That's why the Cannonball Run movies were a hit. And of course Ken Block used the same LA concrete canyons as was used in the final scenes. This would make a cool diorama. -

Someone brought in a selection of chisels as these are called, to a model club meeting. I've looked ever since online, and they are usually out of stock! Then I forget.... I'm tempted to make my own, using the disk on the Dremel, and make the hook. So what if it wears out, eh? Thanks for starting this topic. Will stay tuned.

Here is where I got them. Don't look at their other stuff, unless you have $$$$. There are also studded snow tires! https://www.spotmodel.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=19&products_id=50746

I don't like how all rally car models come with slicks. So the aftermarket has stepped in. I got these from Spot Model. I use foil from cardboard style cigarette packs, when I see someone using up their smokes at the bar, I ask for the pack and they look at me kinda weird.

The patina is very nice. Not exactly in 'barn find" state with a thick layer of dust, but still looks realistic. I like the turquoise too. And the slotted front mags.
