  2. Thanks for posting this! My dad's father had a '57 Handyman wagon since new, it sure didn't look this nice before he traded it in for a '72 "Chevy" LUV (POS). It was a few years before I was old enough to drive, so that's what I inherited. It's a major reason I got a '57 210 4 door stationwagon instead of a minivan when I was raising a family. I can tell you what a boat it was, the rear tires would rub on the fenders when I took turns faster than an aircraft carrier. Almost didn't care how often I had to fill up with gas. Added seatbelts, I see she still doesn't have any. I would bet she garaged it. Sure I miss it, but was getting tired of hearing "nice Nomad" when I knew it was bottom of the totem pole.
  3. Thanks for the information. Only when one has a direct connection with a car, would one be crazy enough to spend the $$. That's me on Prom Night. The car's battery died at the restaurant, needed my dad to rescue me, switched to the Honda Civic CVCC.
  4. Not sure if I posted this project on that thread, but it qualifies. Time sheet shows start date April 1995. Not sure if you can get the resin conversion anymore, but as you can see, I converted it to a Canopy Express. I have it on my workbench now, and have made some progress recently. Next major step is vacuum-forming the interior parts. Will try some extreme weathering techniques. So this will be my entry.
  5. Since I haven't actually finished a model for awhile, but had the time to enter the IPMS Modelzona contest, I'm pleased to say it was worth the trip! I also entered some military models, but I didn't expect anything.
  6. I thought this every time that thread popped up! We have two months, so I should post an easy project in that thread now. LOL
  7. Well rats, I could have one in my hands today! Mark Palacz of M&S Hobbies just got his shipment yesterday in time for the Modelzona show today. But I got the photo-etch detail set from him, so I'm a happy camper.
  8. Here is a tease video, they are going to taunt us through December.
  9. Thanks for posting this! I've been looking at getting the Monogram, saw some vintage slot car versions are molded in gold.
  10. Yes, you did a fine job on it! I built this kit last century for someone who had the real thing. I can appreciate the chrome detailing that you have done.
  11. Ok, if you insist. You can see the diorama that is used for my icon, it didn't get an award, but my Honey, We Have A Problem got another First Place.
  12. Looks like a fun thing to do, both the real race, and to build a model. Too bad one of my stalled WIP has only half the names, and is too new to qualify anyway: Paris Dakar Porsche 959.
  13. Ordered mine today too! Here is a better video, with the master driving it.
  14. Why don't we just blow off the rules and write a complete chapter?
  15. I'm amazed what has become "collectible", this for example. I built the BTCC version last century, looked at what people are asking for, and about pooped my pants.
  16. I ain't helping you! That the Gunze with the photo-etch emblems?
  17. Got an email with a link to this archive, thousands of old photographs. Only if you know Phoenix will you know what to look for. Some pictures have different file names. I lucked out finding this. Check out the tires, not slicks, so what's the problem officer? http://bradhallart.com/images_phoenix/
