First use of Alsa Easy Chrome - No, it's not a car!
89AKurt replied to Pete J.'s topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Thank you! No worries about time to respond. -
Of course you can! I have not built it, which is important. From what I can tell, it's very detailed, lots more parts than say their '72 Chevy pickup. Has the option of Rudge wheels. But at this moment, going from memory. I also don't have the Tamiya kit, so can't fairly compare. My plan is to use it in a diorama, in a well worn condition, perhaps with the engine out like it's getting rebuilt.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm good. I have a complete kit that's open, which is shown on my separate topic.

I remember seeing that. It's so bizarre to me, to see ads for investing in pot stocks on business news sources.. Until the Federal government lifts the ban, it's still a risk. Knowing banks are not willing to deal with pot shops (there is a pun in there) they have to use only cash, which makes me wonder how long dishonest companies will get away with ripping off investors.

Cool subject, I have that kit plus the full engine detail parts, which will guarantee it won't get finished. Nice color choice. And well done! ~thumbs up~

Well thought out, and not a single stock part, is there? Always appreciate thinking out of the box projects.

I like it! Nice drawing too. I used to design/draw cars until my teens, but were always side views.

I have not heard of that product. Looks like it works! You have any pictures before the clear was done? -
I've been tempted to buy one of these kits, but it's an AMT. For the origami straight edge era, it was one of the better designs. You did a fine job with it. The headlights would need to be "fixed". The tires look decent, are they specific brand? Is there an engine?

Porsche Outlaws & Hot Rods
89AKurt replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thank you for the heads up! I recently got the 917 engine, and threw in a Ferrari 250 engine. Highly recommended. This triggers a memory, there was a Porsche run to Prescott years ago, I might have seen one of these. Would be a slide picture.... -

Truck bed spray in bed liner
89AKurt replied to 665@213's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I only used Testors gloss black, with the minimum of thinner, and lowest of air pressure. I tried to do the worst orange peel ever. Since you wanted to match the paint color, seems like the best bet, and save your money for something else. Be sure to fill the corners of your bed before doing any painting! -
Very nice job, museum quality minimum, contest winning guaranteed! Love the subject too. The headlights are something that could be done on 1/24 scale, will keep in mind.

I've seen that resin "kit". Look forward to seeing this come together! -

I've ordered from BNA, so I get email updates. I see this line has a bunch of Porsche detail parts, many versions of wheels. Too bad many parts are "sold out", just need to get whatever when you see it, don't wait! https://www.bnamodelworld.com/scale-production?page=2&zenid=d15f17f6cba0ad472de01ff0bae2aa20 -
Seems like when I hinge anything, it takes a minimum of two tries to get it right. Look forward to seeing the end result!

I used to shred, Moab Utah is my favorite place ever. I've never had to deal with this, thanks for the insight. Visited a friend in LA, they had a broomstick by the door, for first time out every morning they would need to clear a path to the car. My dad was bit on the top of his foot by a Brown Recluse just before a trip, a couple days later we had to rush back to the hospital. Yea, I don't like spiders either.

Attended the Phoenix model swap meet today. I sold 3 models, bought 3 plus military parts. I *had to * get the '72 Chevy pickup, it was *only* $35 unmolested, so maybe I'll do a 4 door version someday. (my stash behind) I have been looking for a Ferrari 512S to go with the Porsche 917, again someday in my next life. My neighbor recently restored a Goat, was thinking of building a before version, which was found on the Navajo Reservation, yes, a diamond in the rough, he has a really nice real thing! Why are these hard to find nowadays?
