Your Rarest Built Kit.
89AKurt replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know .... foreign car, Tamiya, a bloody Volvo to boot! But have you checked the price on eBay if any come up? I built this a long time ago. -
I *had to* take pictures of my photos taken in 1973. I'll post only one. Who remembers the Zingers? I did these Deals Wheels, which ended up getting kitbashed later, VW over the funny car chassis. Thanks for bringing back memories Bill!

Appreciate your personal story about why you do this hobby! I'm sure many of us have similar "Once upon a time..." I should dig up an early picture, Deal Wheels with cardboard garage diorama displays. I grew up in Tucson, there was a hobby shop on Speedway (if I recall correctly), the classic packed, stand alone building that wasn't a chain store. I entered my first contest there. That's where I discovered real model paint, Pactra had the correct Africa Korps color. Many of the Bandai WW2 models I got at Kmart, for about $2-$3! Attached is the big diorama I made, I still have the models packed in boxes. I'm still a kid at heart.

You are doing an awesome job on that! I built the street version years ago, nice for a curbside.

Here's a rare sight!

You still own that? It's the only tail fin design MB produced. I grew up with this 1961 190, original wheels but dad choose wider tires. I'm not a fan of the Dub wagon wheel look. I live in a town that eats low profile tires if you don't slow down at dips. -
I've been considering doing Bobby Unser's Pikes Peak Hillclimb car, since there are decals already. But now this for a tease: Walter Röhrl Pikes Peak Climb Hill Race 1987 by Reji Model. https://www.spotmodel.com/product_info.php?products_id=52108&language=en&utm_source=notifications_xsell&utm_medium=mail&utm_campaign=c13669&utm_content=52108

List your reasons why model building beats relationships (funny)

2. You can have more than one relationship. (Work In Progress) -
Like the different subject, don't think I've seen one built. Looks very nice! But something is missing....

That's looks really sharp! I can't imagine painting around all those funny aerodynamic appendages, that's insane! The engine area looks like a motorcycle.

^^^ Interesting observation James. Wonder when pot shops will start sponsoring racing?

Thank you for the clarification. I wish you the best, and hope you have patience stashed somewhere. Doing all those edges in red will be fun!

Killer work there my man! I love purple to begin with, so this is awesome.

Only because I got the Beemax Quattro with HB tobacco secret decals, and an Auto Union C with Swastika decals from Portugal, do I find this censorship thing interesting. Carry on....

^^^ Great story! I have this kit, wondered how it builds. I figured it was typical quality, sure looks good to me!

Welcome! You are taking on an ambitious project out of the gate! What do you mean by "full engine kit"? I see there seems to be a Fujimi kit with engine as an option. I ask because I have bought other brand engines for kits that never had a full engine. Several on eBay for whoever is interested. https://www.ebay.com/p/Fujimi-Models-125978-1-24-Lamborghini-Veneno-DX-W-pe-Parts-Model-Kit/1051934649
