  1. I was going to say Opel, but I notice it's right hand drive.... So is it a Vauxhall?

Looking good, Mike! I like the color and that's some great frame work there. These tires have convinced me to bring a bunch home from NNL on Saturday. See you there!

You did a good job on this piece! I have to agree on the straight 6. Lowriders don't need 400hp. The only thing that I might do to improve it at all would be just a quick shot of dullcote on the bottom. Definitely don't need to do it though. You can't see the bottom when its sitting on the shelf, right? Oh, good pics too. Keep that up. It helps us see your work better to appreciate what you put into it.
  4. Of course you have to pick a car with a frame to begin with, but you knew that already... Really though, there are a few frames that you can't use easily but with this hobby, just about anything is possible. I used an AMT frame from the phaeton or vicky, Kenny cut up a Lindberg frame and Jairus did it to a Revell frame. You have lots of possibilities so just ask about a particular kit before you buy it if you aren't sure.
  5. Ahh, screw it.... Here's a link: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...ic=8187&hl= Hope this helps!
  6. I have a good tutorial on this subject, but I'm about three hours until I can get to post it. I'm at work and I have an errand to run after work. I'll check back and if no one else posts by then, I'll show you how I've done them.
  7. Thank you Jeff! I'm usually the one who finds these things but I've been so disgusted with this clutter, that I just didn't even want to hang out here at all.....
  8. I don't have to see him wearing it. Just seeing the name tag will be enough! I want a picture of it!
  9. I noticed that too.... Thanks for the chuckle Gregg!
  10. I'll be there along with Randy Kern and Nick Kern. Looking forward to meeting you if even only for a couple of seconds.
  11. Now THAT is funny!!! Well, a finished build is a finished build, right?
  12. This can be done. User "SmartResins" was "DragonRods" up until a few weeks/a month ago. I'm sure Gregg knows for sure.
  13. If they were 75s, they would have chrome bumpers like this: Both of those have the later 79 up plastic bumpers. I'll bet both of them have the 81 and up tail lights too. They're wider than these are. Also, the mirrors on the two you posted are 79 up as well. You have much to learn, young one....
  14. VW Dave is likely the only other member who's gonna know for sure, and he might not see this so, I suppose I'll answer.... I want years and models. Both 79-84 Mk I Golf (If the builder(s) of the cars didn't upgrade the bumpers...) I want year and model 82-92 Scirocco (if the single wiper is original then 82-3 only....)
  15. I think I'll play fact checker on this one...... I'll see if Nick really knows his subject matter..... hee hee!
  16. Uhhh, I hate to rub it in, but I've read almost all of mine already....... Postman got it to me Monday.
  17. At the top of the page, below the header is a box on the right side of the screen called "Options". If you click it, there's a menu that drops down. Go to the bottom section marked "Display Modes" and set it to "Standard". This should put it back the way you want. Yours got bumped to "Outline". HTH!

    Dub's Little Deuce

Thanks, buddy! We're all special! I have an MPC 32 5 window coupe(Milner's Coupe from Am. Graffiti) that I am giving the dirty/channelled/Z-d frame treatment. There's another build on the bench right now, but I am saving it for the NNL. A photo or two might appear next weekend in the club meet coverage, but I don't know.
  19. How...... Oh, never mind.
  20. OK, I'm down with different. BUT, Why don't they do trucks instead of cars? Trucks make more sense. The cars just aren't capable of being safe with those monster wheels.
  21. Nice job, Mike! That thing is a behemoth! It'll even make all those 49 Mercs on the tables seem small. Can't wait to see it!
  22. You did read my signature, right? I ask because I went out of my way to state that is the ONLY meaning that does not apply to my user name.
  23. Thanks Doug! I definitely agree with you about this hobby's artistic aspect. It's the outlet I was looking for. I don't mind doing the pictures because I've only been building seriously for a year now, and I still have a LOT to learn. It helps me too! Thanks again! ;)
