  1. I was going to say 1946 but they were made 1940-1945. Another name for it is "Kommandeurwagen".
  2. Great job, great story! I would love to drive something like this all over the country one summer hitting all the good shows!

Another masterpiece! How many deuces does this one make? Hope I get to see it Saturday!
  4. Excellent work, my friend! Can't wait to see it Saturday! I hope you can make it.
  5. That is a Treser converted ur-quattro. He converted that to a convertible in the late 80s early 90s before his company went under. ....and you don't want me to start putting cars up here. Just because you picked a car I didn't get doesn't mean you will get any of what I could put up! CAL would be OK, but I could bury you!!! BTW, I looked at every marque except Audi! I knew it was German but like CAL said, that thing looks so Asian it hurts!
  6. I support George's idea too. I didn't participate much in the debates but I found them highly entertaining and educational. So I would like to see the political discussion return too.
  7. Oh yeah! Why do you think I was looking at Japanese cars?
  8. I noticed that too but the vent lines go the wrong way. The door handles were wrong on every Japanese car I looked at. All had pull up lever type. The Audi has typical European pushbutton type.
  9. A few people think it's an Opel. (I'm not one of them) I can tell you its NOT a Vauxhall!
  10. It's actually a 1941 Studebaker Commander, but that was really close!
  11. Harold's looks like it was a C4 'Vette at some point in its life.
  12. Don't know if anybody's keeping track.... It probably is, but I don't know. These hundred year old cars are probably the only really tough ones anybodies thrown out. NEXT!!!
  13. Well I don't have too many domestic kits considered grail status. I do have one Johan kit and just about all(if not all) are at least one degree or another of grail status. I managed to get one I wanted at the Mid Atlantic NNL this year, along with the Ice Cream Truck. The Galaxie kit isn't quite there yet but will be in the not too distant future. The three in the middle aren't quite ripe yet either and the three on the left are re-pops. Now here you get to see why I have the user name I do. These are considered grails among the builders into Euro stuff. If you go to a couple VW forums with model car sections you'll see what I mean. These are built up over many years. I started buying these even before I was a serious builder. Oh, I forgot the AMT Scirocco that I just got a replacement body from another member to rebuild the gluebomb from my older brother.
  14. Thanks for the pics, Cruz! I still can't believe I forgot my camera. It was a great time like always!
  15. Oh yeah..... You've never seen Nick inhale chilli at a club meeting. All I can say is all the claims of him being like "a plague of locusts" are not exaggerations!
  16. OK, Mr. Smarty Pants, do YOU know what year that car really is? Huh??? Do you???? How about 92.......
  17. Very nice! I just love the sound of that straight-cut 5th gear. That whine is music! The ending was totally worth watching the whole thing too.
  18. 85-87 Scirocco Need to see more to narrow it down....
  19. Nah, it's Photobucket. They are having some ip address issues today. I've seen intermittent pic losses all day.
  20. When I pull out of my lazy slump, I'll do some searchin'...... I can tell you scanned it out of a book and I think it appears to be of British decent..... Just don't know. Gimme a couple more days and I'll see if I can figure it out. As an aside, I don't just know what all of these are(although, probably about 60% I did).... I actually learn a bit on each one I try.
  21. Isn't it called the "Queen Wagon Family Truckster"? Man, that was back when Chevy Chase had a career......
