  1. It is very close.
  2. Funny, I was told it was white. I do see a lot of white cars/trucks.
  3. I like how the chrome turned out. I think it actually looks great like this as many of these carshad Stainless Steel trim and not Chrome. The spray chrome is a closer match to SS than to chrome. I say it looks great.
  4. Great color combo, I like it a lot. I am so glad you are doing this kit, I have one in the stash and will be atacking it one day, nice to have you go and point out all the flaws with the kit so I know what to look for and are prepred for the challenge it will be. It is not my preferred subject, but I gotthe kit basicly for free, so I will build it.
  5. Yes, this way I can keep everything in scale. I have had issues in the past keeping the scale correct when I just eyeball it. The next step will be some CAD work, Cardboard Aided Design. Glue the drawing to some cardboard and make sure it all mocks up correctly before cutting up some expencive styrene.
  6. I agree. I will make the rer door taller. I wenton line to see what the doors were and the one I found was 30x72. I think I need to go with an 84in door instead.
  7. Well, at this point I’m not sure what I want to do. I have an R kit, but somehow it is just not inspiring me. I was just trying to think a bit outside the box. It’s not like I have a lack of kits to do, I have a few years worth. (Like 10 years) I may go with my original thought and get the newer style RD hood from Gary and put a dump box on it.
  8. I know that the Mack D trucks had the offset cab for visibility, the DM trucks had the metal front ends, not the fiberglass hoods. The R had the regular centered cab and fiberglass frontends. Other than the offset the D and the R cab look about the same styling. Did Mack ever off an R Cab with the DM style metal fronts? Speaking in 1/25 scale, would the DM-800 front fit an R cab even if the factory never did it? Sometimes I think crazy things while alone in a hotel room. EDIT: I went back and did a deeper Google search and found that they did in fact make a steel hood R truck. So, the question still remains, can a hood from the AMT DM-800 fit a R685ST truck to make a R Steel hood like in the picture? In other words, kit bash without the need for a resin body. I see AITM sells a R-800 RSX resin kit. Mack letter designators confuse me a little, makes it hard to look up what I want.
  9. I love this build, very nice. One question? Can you make a 4200 out of a 4300 by cutting the hood and using round headlights? I have a 4300 I built a while back and I think I have a 4200 also, but never looked that close at them.
  10. I love this. The Fox body back when new with the 5.0l was a tight fit, these new "302" engines are even bigger due to the head design. I would hate to swap this in the real world. In 1:25 plastic is easy to hack and it does not have to really fit or work. I will be watching this very cool build.
  11. Looking great, love the wheels. I do have one question. I see you glued the back of the cab on. I have seen in a video that the back of the cab has to stay loose so you can get the interior in. Have you tried to put the interior in with the cab back glued on? Is it a drop in or do you have to fight it? I have this kit and it is on the list to build soon.
  12. So I had some time today to work on this. I am out of town, so it all had to be digital. I found a picture of a Motorhome of the style I want to build. I loaded the picture into a program my company has and traced it, then resized it to the right size. I then flipped it over and using a picture of the other side created something close. Our program allows you to print actual size, so I a going to print it and use those prints to cut out the sides. Once the sides are done, I can create the interior. I need to see if I can find interior pictures of this MH or just create my own. I know that the bathroom will be in the rear and I can see the kitchen would be an the passenger side. Should not be to hard to draw from there, I own a real 1:1 Travel trailer and can use the interior to scale from. This may be a slow build, I want it to be a quality build, and with my ADD if I don't take a break from it to build other projects, I will just rush it and it will be just OK.
  13. Is there a build thread for this one? If so, can you link it here?
  14. Well, I now have the sheet plastic for the camper box. I also just got a Lincoln kit that has a MEL, that could be as large as a 462. I may put that in as I plan on a Boss 429 in the Lincoln. BTW, the new 70 Galaxie kits (cop and taxi) both have a Boss 429 engine in them. The 351 may find its way into the 70 Galaxie.
  15. Thank you all. Back in the 80`s my dad had a mid 60s Chevy wagon, but the larger one. It was also tan and had "Indy 500 Pace Car" decals on both doors. I'm sure it was a joke, but I still loved that car. We had a 1972 Vista Cruiser too back in the early 70s. I wish I had those both now. I love wagons.
  16. Thank you, you are right, but it’s strange it is only part of the tree. I guess it goes in the parts box.
  17. I got an AMT Fruehauf trailer kit recently. When I opened the kit there were some parts from another kit, they don’t go to the trailer. It looks like a tow hitch, seat harness and a duct of some sort for a race car carburetor. There is also possibility a roll pan? Any idea what kit they are from?
  18. Let mestart by saying his is a fun little kit to do. It is a very simple curbside kit, but very well done nice kit. I wanted a very basic work car look. I removed all the trim to give it even more basic trim level. I also lightly weathered it up a bit to give it a good used look. So, no engine very basic chassis pan, but still a fun build. I plan to get at least one more, I hope the full detail kit the next time.
  19. I noted the same thing, but was debating on if I should say anything or not. You beat me to it. The “Spokes” or “Wire” wheels are more correct for this car. True Artillery wheels look better on something after 1935.
  20. That factory looking burgundy one is the look I’m after, thanks.
  21. Sorry for the late reply. The RV hauler is 99% done. It is built, but I am still looking for a decent Smart car to load on the back, then I can make the ramps and hold down. For now it is just sitting in my display case. Thanks for the reminder.
  22. Wow, great builds. Thank you. I think the biggest issue will be making the roof look like something Lincoln would have done.
  23. Well, insanity is cheaper than a drug addiction. I say go for it. Looks like you are off to a great start. Can’t wait to see how this crazy idea pans out.
