  1. Just my 2 cents. Kids, these are the kind of mindless things you can do to waste time when you're in your late 50's, the kids are grown and gone and the wife works until 7PM.
  2. That problem has been solved,,,,,,,,,we open all the doors in the firehall.
  3. Maryland Automotive Modellers Association (MAMA) Our website includes links to other clubs, links to more model related sites than you could think of, automotive reference sites, model shows, 1:1 car shows and our monthly newsletter in PDF form,,,,,,and much more. http://www.mamasboyz.org/
  4. Gregg, thanks for the new category. From now on, I'll put all the MAMA and CPMCC meeting pics here.
  5. Yeah, thanks Chad. I'm going to recomend that you be president upon my death,,,,,or when I get senile enough to forget the meeting dates.
  6. Ray - I'm not sure what frame he started with but he said much of the frame is scratchbuilt. It won't be an Orange Crate replica when done, but should turn out to be a very cool rod. I have a hard time with the names of ALL the club members, partly because I'm getting old, but mostly because we have 60-80 members at our meetings. However, they are never all the SAME members each month. Some of these guys only make it to a meeting 3 or 4 times a year. We've asked, for years, that people display their name tag with their models, but it rarely happens.
  7. Looks great. VERY nice!
  8. "Where ya staying at" is bad grammer. It should be"Where yoose guys gonna be cribbin', yo?" Hords of Maryland folks will be there and, Tom, if you're a good boy, we'll let you get thrown out of a restaurant with us after the NNL.
  9. Two (2) of these fantastic cakes were made by Dawn Powers, our vice president's wife. THANK YOU DAWN. Harry Charon built this cool '61 Impala with most of a '65 Impala interior. Several RM Choppers are being modified and built, including this one from Dave Toups. Norm Veber's idea of having a club with no dues, no in-club contests and no politics has progressed and thrived for 18 years. Thank you Norm. 82 pics at the link: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_clu...eeting_9162006/
  10. I agree with Steve on the chassis. I use the AMT '69 Olds 442 chassis under every 68'-'72 Chevelle I build. I also use the cowl/ firewall, inner fender wells andd radiator wall from the Olds kit. A nice small master cylinder can be found in a Revell '32 Ford st.rod kit.
  11. The Pa. club meets in York, Pa. That's about 50 miles from Wilmington. MAMA meets near Wash. D.C. and from Wilmington, would be about 90 miles.
  12. Very nice. You did a great job on the whitewalls.
  13. Cars, bikes and tattood wimens at the link: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/car_shows...rod_hoedown_at/
  14. To turn a TKM kit into ANYTHING recognizable is quite a feat. You did a killer job on this one, Jeff.
  15. Historic Racing Miniatures has produced a dead-on accurate, completely fully detailed resin kit of that car. The photo is an INCOMPLETE mockup of the model from back in April. Kit comes with the decals to do any of the 3 cars.
  16. Thanks for all the nice comments. I really like these bike kits.
  17. I'll be there,,,,,and I'll probably take one or two pics.
  18. Dave, thanks for the great pics. It's nice to see someone photo the cars from various angles and actually get the entire car framed in the picture.
  19. Good ol' Polly Scale water based acrylic paint,,,and a brush.
  20. No sir. The front disc is NOT on backwards. All the drilled holes in the disc are open, but can't be seen in the photo. Basically, it's a modern custom bike with an old school look.
  21. Most of yooooose guys have named your choppers. I couldn't think of anything clever,,,,,so it's just a custom bike. Headers were heat wrapped with Tamiya masking tape and painted metallic color. Polished aluminum tips. Bike is fully wired. Scratchbuilt mirrors, speedometer and license plate added to make it legal in Maryland. Seat was sanded smooth and red wire piping added. I made a primary cover and shifter linkage. The handlebars are the result of some creative cutting and glueing. The next one is going to have many more modifications. I find I'm currently a little obcessed with these new bike kits. Can't wait for the next two in October. A few more pics at the link, bottom of page, if ya want them. http://images18.fotki.com/v347/photos/1/11...DSCN0005-vi.jpg
  22. That's a beautiful conversion. VERY well done. After 40 years of being a diehard NASCAR fan, I've lost interest in the high-dollar, Sunday soap opera it's become, but I REALLY like your model.
  23. Incredible work! They are really cool!
  24. Sorry. I have no idea. It was one of two models built by junior club members.
