  1. I drew my 1978 Anniversary Sportster in 1979. Uh,,,,that would be the 75th anniversary! I drew it on black paper using pastels and ink. This is a drawing of the '71 Spitfire I owned after I had it repainted. The car isn't really crooked and out of proportion,,,,,,I shot the photo from the side to avoid the flashback. These are the only drawings I still have. I did most auto and motorcycle artwork in pastels. I did several drawings for friends who are long gone, along with the artwork. I never could do amazing stuff like Jairus does. I always had to see the real thing or a picture, before I could put it on paper. I had a good friend who had a 10 year old boy who was fasinated by '70's choppers. I drew a large, framed Harley chopper is pastels and ink and it was Mikey's most cherished possesion. He died of Hogkins at age 11 and the picture was placed in his coffin by his dad. Yes, it's a sad story, but the memory of Mikey has stayed with me for over 30 years. I'll have to dig out the photo of the drawing and scan it.
  2. It was mastered by Rik Hoving and is in his Fotki album. It isn't flat,,,,,it's a STOCK firewall. See the pic on his page at the link: http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/replicas__...r_rmcm/32_ford/
  3. I have done it several times. I also spray Dup. Clear over Krylon, Tamiya and Testors lacquers.
  4. Here's the link to my Lincoln V-12 roadster, but I converted it to a dual distributor set up, copying some excellent reference pictures from DAVE LINDSAY's albums, so my model probably isn't going to help you much. As everyone above said, a "normal" V-12 flathead is wired the same as any early Ford flathead http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/lyles_mod...rd_street_rods/
  5. The two above should look familiar to Jairus. Okay. That's enough.
  6. I'm just moving this to the top because,,,,well,,,,because it's almost Christmas.
  7. I'll have enough when I'm dead. That way, my wife will have plenty of company for awhile when the club vultures come over to "help take all those silly plastic kits off her hands".
  8. I bought 2 of them at NNL EAST 2005. They can be assembled with the mirror flat or angled.
  9. These are new from Reps & Mins. They are wrap-around fenders for both hard and softail kits and a fat tank. They are very similar to the parts on the Sunchaser model.
  10. Historic Racing Miniatures resin Cheetah kit built by Gordon Holsinger. Bill Stillwagon's Imperial with Cheezoom parts. Another wild pro-mod creation from Tim Lewis. Much more entertainment for you eyeballs at the link: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_clu...eting-12162006/
  11. In a couple of weeks I'll be 58. I'm looking for a position on my couch and in my modelling room. THANKS to all for the kind words on the Camaro.
  12. In 1969, checking "Z10" on the order form got you a white SS 396 Camaro coupe with white interior and hugger orange "bandaid" stripes. Approximately 200 were built and sold mostly in the midwest where convertibles sold very poorly. Corporate headquarters agreed to make these primarily for midwest Chevy dealers as a showroom draw. So, what if, Chevy made a 2009 Z10? Chrome rocker panel molding was added and the rocker was painted semi-gloss black. "New Millenium" rally wheels were made with Pegasus Helas, Pegasus aluminum sleeves and center caps from an AMT '69 Chevelle kit. A little Chevy Orange was added under the hood to tie it back to it's heritage. I think this thing may sell well against the Mustang. Anyone from Chevy looking?
  13. Tom, that is a great build. I really like that!
  14. I never knew Sly Stalone was gay,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not that there's anything wrong with that.
  15. I've met and talked with Don Garlits several times. I sat in Don Nickleson's trailer for about an hour and talked with him at Super Chevy in the early 90's. I've met George Barris several times, Gene Windfield, Joe Bailon and Ed Roth. Somewhere I have pictures I took of Ed Roth with Norm Veber at an indoor car show in D.C. (Don't know why I didn't get Norm to take a picture of me with Ed.) I grew up about a mile from Bob Harrop (Flying Carpet super stocker/ later A/FX) and used to ride my bicycle to his house and watch him work on his car when I was about 14.(Right about here, Dan Peterson would ask,"They had cars in the 1800's?") When I was 17, hanging out at the Dairy Queen in Smyrna, Delaware, The Rascals stopped and asked me directions to the Harrington State Fair. I was very thankful that I had witnesses to the fact that I talked to Felix. Kids - The Rascals were a major rock group in the 60's. That made me kind of a hero, for about a week, in high school. And, last but not least, there's my buddy Pam Hardy.
  16. VERY COOL!
  17. Kenny - who does the resin Vega?
  18. I saw this one at our last meeting and it is one beautiful build!
  19. Here's the short version - In the early 80's, Mark Gustavson had the idea of having an international, top drawer, model car contest. He invited most of the "big name" car modellers in the hobby to participate. He only recieved 2 or 3 replies. Rather angry at such a poor response, he wrote an article in Scale Auto complaining about the national luminaries in the hobby, who shall remain nameless. About a year later, a few of those "big names" gathered in a builder's garage, in Ohio, just to display their work and enjoy each other's company. It wasn't a contest - just a gathering of friends who built car models. With tongue-in-cheek, they called themselves national nameless luminaries. From that humble begining, we now have several non-competetive NNL's around the country. The original "national" NNL is still held in Ohio each October. They just celebrated their 26th year with approximately 1000 models on display. The biggest NNL is NNL EAST, held in March. This past March they had 1853 models and over 1000 people in attendance.
  20. One of the reasons the fenders were done separately was to produce the Pontiac version. I seem to remember a funny car version, but I could be wrong, considering, I can't remember what I did yesterday.
  21. I've built the same car(the kit's been reissued a ton of times) using the Revell '32 Ford frame. If I recall, only a couple very simple modifications are required to fit the frame. I used many of the interior parts from a Revell '32 Speedwagon kit, if that helps.
  22. Billy Wagaman's 1969-2008 Yenko Mike Dube's cool slammer. Terry Adams' killer Continental More holiday cheer at the link: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_clu...eeting-1222006/
  23. REPLICAS & MINIATURES CO. OF MD. makes this one. At one time, Norm casted the parts pack bikes, but discontinued them as there were little or no sales. The one pictured IS AVAILABLE. The build-up shown was done by Matt Guilfoyle.
