  1. Zoli,,,,,it's a shame you missed the meeting. Walt Rook had his Miata and Nick Sickle showed up with his BRAND NEW one. Forgive the young Mr. Epstein. Sometimes he thinks he is my long lost Puerto Rican son. Sometimes he thinks he is an old character from Welcome Back Kotter. He knows not that you are the man who scratchbuilds the incredible fire apparatus that usually wins a trophy every year at our NNL.
  2. The '60 Impala on the Model Car Garage photoetch header card WAS my actual hobby car for a few years. I sold it some time ago. Had a 348 with single Rochester 4 barrel. My daily driver is, at the moment a 2001 Ford Ranger with every possible option. Most of the options don't work anymore and I'm about to get a new(er) car. I do VERY HIGH mileage and cars usually last me 2 1/2 - 3 years.
  3. Ed (Drag City) will be at the MID-ATLANTIC NNL on May12. Dennis,,,,,,,,I know that's too far for you to drive. That was for the east coast guy's benefit (and also a cheap and sleezy oportunity to, once again, advertise our show)
  4. Don't know about the '58 Plymouth kit, but everything else should be easy to find at Detail Master,,,,,and they're in N.Y.state. http://www.detailmaster.com/
  5. GREAT BUILD ! And, in general, I don't even like "show cars". But this one brings back fond memories, even though I still have that magazine (and about 3000 more from 6 decades). There are a certain few show cars that really defined my car experiences during my teenage years, such as this one, Little Coffin and most of the Roth cars. I never built this model, but I don't think I could do it justice, as you have. I love it! Right about here, Dan Peterson would type "Lyle Love's it". Get it? Ha ha. Okay, that's over with now.
  6. Now that we finally got a warm day in, what has been, the coldest April on record, the cars came out big time. I skipped over about 100 Camaros and '57 Chevys because,,,,uh,,,,,they all look the same. HERE'S THE REST: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/car-shows...y-night-cruise/
  7. More neat stuff at the link: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-clu...eeting-4212007/
  8. Charlie, These may help a little. These are shots of the car on the current show curcuit. This is, supposedly, the actual car used in the movie.
  9. Thanks. I guess ya learn something new every day. I always thought that style were all called Hellas. I'm lucky enough not to have to order them. Plenty of vendors carry them here in Md.
  10. replmincomd@aol.com or call 410-768-3648. Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Maryland is one of the largest and well respected aftermarket companies in the hobby and advertises in every model related magazine. He runs an ad in every issue of Model Cars and has run an ad in S.A for 23 years. Sometimes,,,,,,,,,,,you actually have to leave the computer to find stuff.
  11. Just for the record, they are called "HELLAS"
  12. Wow. I finally get a break. You're copying IRV'S CARS NOW! Nice start so far.
  13. Here's one of the Revell diecasts. The plastic version is done off the same mold. Bill's right,,,the interior is stock. It appears that all the chrome will be separate as on the diecast. I doctored the paint and changed the wheels on this one, but this is basically what we'll get in plastic.
  14. Barbo,,,,,THANK YOU SO MUCH. We greatly appreciate your support.
  15. Okay. From March to early May, it's my job to be very annoying with the advertisements for our show. So,,,,,,,I'm bringing this to the top again. ALSO, we've added a motorcycle class. WE NEED A SPONSOR FOR THAT CLASS. Maybe a club or individual? The trophy is $45.00 and will be engraved with whatever sponsor name you wish. Email me if interested.
  16. Somehow, I missed that one too. Great job Randy.
  17. Thanks to all you guys for the neat pics. Congrats, again, Dave on the Joe Cavorly award win.
  18. Great pics Tom( except for that pathetic picture of that one old guy). Thanks.
  19. LOL. One of the club member's wives wrote "Lloyd Woddington" on my name tag. ( That's my 25th scale alter ego). That's why you didn't know who I was. I also didn't realize that you were the "Jeff" from the forum.
  20. Just a sampling of NNL EAST. Just about impossible to photograph the whole show. http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_car.../nnl-east-2007/
  21. HRM resin Cobra built by Gorodn Holsinger. Ron Roberts loves to do old boxart cars. New stuff from Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Md. LINK TO MORE: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-clu...eeting-3172007/
  22. I almost forgot about that one. I know you started that one a while back. Very cool. Beautiful paint, as always.
  23. AMT F100, last reissued in the 90's. Chopped 3 inches. Posable steering on IFS from an AMT '34 Ford street rod kit. Wheels from Revell '66 Chevelle wagon kit. Paint is HOK candy lime gold over Duplicolor silver base. Engine from Revell Speedwagon with lots of other parts. Tuck & roll insert made for the stock seat. Gauges from The Model Car Garage. Inner fenders in bed made from old AMT '32 Ford fenders and sheet plastic. Bed woodgrained with Polly Scale paints. Filler piece molded to front of bed to eliminate the large gap. Didn't want just a plain tailgate so I made some scupturing from sheet plastic and putty. PE Ford emblem added. F100 standard grille from the MPC flipnose kit used with the promo headlights drilled out. '69 Camaro reflectors and lenses were added It's ready to roll to NNL EAST.
  24. I bet you ate white paste when you were a kid. Now go wash your hands, young man! Cool color.
  25. This is Anna Astadyfer. SHE has a fun build!
