Very nice build. For future '68 - '72 Chevelle builds, use the AMT '69 442 chassis (drops in) and firewall, inner fender wells and radiator support. These are all the accurate parts found in the real cars.

LOL. You must be Bill Coulter's friend. I just answered this exact question in an email yesterday. I basically gave the same answers as above. -

Fantastic job. I love it. Did you take out a second mortgage for the Bare Metal Foil? Looks like a serious contender for the "resin kit" category trophy at the Sept. Showdown.

Great build. Now your homework assignment is to write "SATURDAY', 25 times.

The Revell '32 Ford Tudor Sedan modified reissue IS coming at the end of this year. It was supposed to be announced at LAST year's Oct. Hobby Show but it was pushed back. (Good thing I kept my mouth shut). It will have the injected 302 from the Speedwagon kit AND a flathead with speed parts. It will have 2 sets of wheels. I don't know if one set will be steelies with caps. This is all from a VERY reliable source who has worked with Revell for 2 years to get this reissue out. You know the drill,,,,,,I could tell you but would have to kill you. I have NO info on the other rumored kits.

Thanks very much for the great pics. The yellow '70 Yenko Deuce has me scratching my head. I've never seen those particular stripes on any Deuce before. Also, the car does not have the hood stripes, the LT1 insignias and appears not to have the hood mounted tach. I know that Don Yenko would do, basically, whatever the customer wanted (within reason), so it COULD have had a different stripe package applied. Do you know if this car is some sort of a semi-clone or were they claiming the car is an original Yenko??? Thanks again.

VERY nice! It's hard to get the gold spear to look right but you did a great job.

Someone talking smack??????
Lyle Willits replied to cruz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Don't let this get out of hand, guys. Jim from S.A., in his editorial, was talking about a typical NNL style model show where the air conditioning lacks a little horse power in an older government facility. He also commented on the heat and humidity in Maryland and the occassional modeller who stays up all night to finish a model and bypasses the shower stall on the way to the event. All this is true. Let's face it. We've all been to model shows or even small model club meetings where we have encountered one or two (or maybe 10) people who are completely foreign to such things as soap and water and wouldn't know a stick of deodorant from a stick of butter. Their 10 year old unwashed jeans and "Lions Dragstrip" t-shirt (purchased AT Lions Dragstrip when it was still a functional raceway) could walk in under their own power, given the proper amounts of electrolytes and transmitted shockwaves. Jim wasn't knocking our club or our show,,,,but I wrote him a little tongue-in-cheek email anyway. -
Someone talking smack??????

They just said the Armory smells like a locker room,,,,uh,,,and it does, because it's an armory,,,,,,with a big locker room. I promised the editor of "the other magazine" scented candles and a bottle of Febreeze next year. Actually Gregg was in the same photo room at our show, so maybe he knows exactly what smelled bad. -

"WOW" pretty much covers it!!!!!!!!! Wonderful work. Keep us updated. You may be the Brazilian "Bill Geary". -
I drill a hole and glue (from the back of the wheel) a small piece of detail wire, usually black.

Very sad news,,,,,,,,
Lyle Willits replied to Lyle Willits's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Guess I should have looked farther down the board. What a crappy week for the model car hobby! -
I've just been informed that Ron Cash has died. I got the news from Irv Arter. I have no other details at this time.

Scale License Plates

Gregg,,,,,ACME plates are still there. Here's the link: http://www.acme.com/licensemaker/ -
Bill Stillwagon's beautiful '41 Ford custom coupe. An entire collection of Tom Daniels built kits. Before Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Md. got into some of the finest aftermarket model car parts and kits, Norman sold scale tractor kits. These were built about 25 years ago. Clear Coat Question
Lyle Willits replied to Bruce Poage's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've applied Duplicolor Clear Laquer over both Testors and Tamiya lacquers with excellent results, MANY times. No problems encountered. -
Okay, so you drive the car onto a beach, rake away the tire tracks and take pictures. Then you expect us to believe that it's a small plastic model. We are not just average idiots, ya know. We are highly knowledgable idiots! I'm not into foreign cars at all, BUT THIS IS ONE INCREDIBLE KILLER MODEL!!!!

I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. But, you could email Rich at the address in the post above and I'm sure he'll be happy to answer the questions.
