  1. The new Revell '69 Nova is shown as 1/25th scale so, hopefully, the Model Car Garage photoetch sets will fit correctly which will allow '68 - '72 conversions.
  2. Because of that album cover, the car, over the years, has been referred to as "The Little Deuce Coupe". In fact, it has always been named the Silver Saphire and was owned by Clarence Catallo. Although George Barris often takes credit for the car because he chopped the top, the majority of the build was done by the Alexander Brothers. Clarence died many years ago at a young age and his family kept the car. It was fully and perfectly restored about 4 years ago. There's a rumor that the Danbury Mint is doing a 1/24th scale replica of it.
  3. I've started to scan some of the 3000 magazines that I have and put them on Fotki. So far I have early HOT ROD mags. You can save these to your hard drive and resize them for 1/25th interiors or dioramas, etc. Or you can just sit there and look at them and be amazed that you could get a whole magazine for a quarter! I'll be adding Car Craft and Rod & custom, etc. soon. Enjoy. HERE'S THE LINK: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/magazine-.../early-hot-rod/
  4. You haven't put your location anywhere on this board (or at least, I can't find it) so it's hard to direct you to a model club.
  5. To my knowledge, there has never been a '36 Chevy in plastic or resin. The closest you will find is the '37 Chevy kit, as you've said.
  6. I didn't remember the name but I remember a couple of his models. Thanks for the website link.
  7. Paste. They didn't have anything called gel 40 years ago.
  8. Yep. Comes in small containers. I don't know anyone who actually uses it.
  9. Here's the fastest and cheapest way to polish light scratches form clear plastic. Go to your medicine cabinet in your bathroom and get your toothpaste (assuming you have teeth and you brush them) Polish the windshield with the toothpaste. This works well. It's what we used to do many years ago before all the current polishes became available.
  10. About 250 pics at the link: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/car-shows...coast-nostalgi/
  11. Tom, Great pics. Thanks very much. Wish I could have been there. On another board you mentioned "the Ron Cash Award" - what was that????
  12. Go to this link for more reference pics of a '67 Beaumont. Pics begin with #7. http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/car_shows...yland_chevelle/
  13. Obviously, Jeff is just kidding. I have no secrets. In fact, this "secret" was published in the April 2005 issue of Scale Auto. Here's what you want to buy. Determine how long you want the louver to be and cut the "stairs" to that length. Use that piece to draw the outline on the hood. Cut out the piece INSIDE the lines so that you can slowly file away material until the "stair" piece fits tightly. Glue in the piece and use putty to smooth in the edges. That's the whole story.
  14. for the excellent coverage of our Mid-Atlantic NNL in the latest issue. The photos and text are great. Although,,,,,,,,,,,,,,next year we're gonna have to keep a close eye on who sneaks in that back door!
  15. I'm hoping that you can sell all 100 of them at Toledo, but assuming you have some still not sold after the show, will they be available by mail order?
  16. Tommy, you should send those pics to the Ricky Couch website (if you haven't already). The website is http://www.rickycouch.com/
  17. For the first time in MANY years, I WON'T be there! Just look at Tom Kren's models and pretend they are mine
  18. How much action ya lookin' for, big boy?
  19. This is great news George.I actually learned about your new endeavors from Tom B. a couple weeks ago at the Sept. Showdown. I've briefly checked out your website,,,,I'll read the whole thing later. I'll email you to CONFIRM that I want one of the garages. I assume they will come all finished and detail painted. I'm still trying to figures out which two fat-assed car modellers you sculpted for the figures You know I wish you the best of luck on all of your ventures.
  20. Great job Tom. That came out very nice.
  21. Just got this from Don (The Modelhaus) and it's a drop in for the new R-M 49 Merc. Already got the slanted B pillar and Buick side trim. Pretty sweet for something in the $20 range. If folks are interested they need to let Don know before Toledo...actually he said within the next 8 days to be sure he has plenty.
  22. Thanks again Dan and TO ALL !!!! the folks who worked hard to make everything run smoothly. THIS is scarey - I GUESSED there was approximately 370 models there! I reckon I've been doing this "show thing" for a long time.
  23. Many of the pics are not quite in focus,,,,,and many are! Go figure. http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_car...-showdown-2007/
