  1. This is just TOO (TWO) COOL, as is everything that comes out of your "garage".
  2. I gave you a simple, straightforward answer to your question. If you think it was condescending, then maybe your skin is as thin as the resin that's warping.
  3. Drying in the sun???? Are you serious? I think you've answered your own question. Primer the part / body and bring it in the house!
  4. Lots more here: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-club-meetings-2010/mama-meeting-6192010/
  5. Very possibly the best woody model I've ever seen. Fantastic build!
  6. Paint is Testors black and Testors Wet Look Clear. Lots of polishing with the polishing cloths and McGuires #26 wax. Thanks for all the nice compliments.
  7. The wheels and baby moon caps are from the recent reissue of the Revell '36 Ford. The tires are from almost any of the Revell '32 Ford kits. I painted the wide whites.
  8. I remember now why I don't paint models black. Within about 5 minutes of displaying it, it looks like it's been in a snow storm of dust. Anyway, after much dusting and brushing, here it is. AMT '36 roadster with a few Revell/Monogram '36 Ford kit parts thrown in. Windshield and up-top is chopped. Up-top is reshaped. Revell '36 seat and scratchbuilt door panels. Caddy engine from AMT '49 Ford ( uh,,,,I think) with modified intake. Air cleaners from 2 Revell Black Widow '57 Chevy kits. Polished Caddy script valve covers from Mr. Robert Dudek. I must have finally used up my brain cells - I couldn't come up with a clever tag.
  9. It's a sliding 30 years. 1980 or older. Next year it will be 1981 or older, etc. They are now called Street Rod Nationals PLUS. The hard core street rodders are upset, but it didn't seem to have any effect on the show. There were a few "plus" cars, as evident in the photos, but it was mostly street rods. NSRA has been having the "sliding 30 years" show in Richmond, Va. for the past 5 years. The Richmond show is no more, however.

  12. You have a good memory
  13. I built the AAM '40 Ford woodie in 1993 ( I think) as a rod. Of course, trends change over the years and I wouldn't paint it this color today. I recall that I spent 3 days on the wood graining. I still have another one in a box that I'm going to build as a '39,,,,,,,,,some day.

  15. It's a straight reissue of the previous kit. Very nice kit, but there are some MINOR problems. The chassis is reissued from the '59 Impala which is correct except for the spare tire well hanging down. In '60, the spare was moved to inside the trunk, so cut the well out and insert a piece of flat plastic. Also, test fit the interior assy. and chassis several times before final assembly. Some filing is required to get the chassis level inside the body.
  16. Thanks for all the info. So often, people running a 1:1 car show decide to have a model contest and sit a table out in the sun, and think that's all they need. Obviously, you know what you're doing. Best of luck with the contest. I hope to be there.
  17. No, I didn't. I can't imagine there would be much of a market for a 1927 Pontiac grille shell.
  18. Can you provide some details about the model contest? Who is running the contest? Have you secured a building in which to have the contest at the Biglerville park? Model car contests can not be set up outside, due to wind, dirt, unstable tables and, of course, direct sun destroys styrene models in a very short time. Will you have constant survailence of the models to prevent touching, breaking and theft? I'd appreciate some details, please.
  19. Good luck finding a modeller under 12 years old.
  20. You are kidding, right? I was cracking a joke. I don't get emotional over model cars.
  21. Gee, thanks for pointing out the one flaw in the paint. Well, at least you didn't give me ###### about using the word, "Indian".
  22. Chopped Model T with Pontiac engine, scratchbuilt 1927 Pontiac grille shell and Pontiac tailights from Mr. Robert Dudek. Paint is Duplicolor Orange Mist with the ghost of the Pontiac Indian on the doors. '27 Pontiac grille and '32 Ford headlights. I made interior door panels because the kit doesn't have any. Pontiac engine from AMT '36 Ford kit. Scratchbuilt headers. Carb scoops from Reps & Mins.
