  1. One of your all-time best. Beautiful work.
  2. The only way to get this lower is to grind the tops of the tires off.
  3. Excellent resin, chopped '37 Chevy from Drag City Casting ( Ed Fluck). Skirts made from sheet plastic. '41 Chevy truck headlights. Fully detailed 6 cylinder. Bob Dudek polished aluminum valve cover. Fully detailed interior that can't be seen !! Chromed, resin Caddy somberos ( no idea who made them ) with clear red resin centers detailed with gold foil. Lowered any way I could because I'm not going to display it upside down.
  4. 18th scale diecast (extensively modified) We killed off about 20 pizzas and other unhealthy foods. TOYS FOR TOTS collection. Lots more here: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-club-meetings-2010/cpmcc-meeting--party/
  5. Tamiya Radiant Blue - TS44. Thanks to all for the nice comments.
  6. '41 Chevy cab and shortened bed. '32 Ford frame. Early Hemi with Latham blower. Bob Dudek aluminum dropped front axle with scratchbuilt tierods to make steering posable. VERY modified custom grille surround from Monogram '36 Ford kit. '38 Ford pickup headlights. Front grille guard made from silver wire. Interior has modified door panels from '32 Ford kit, shortened '60 Ford seat, smoothed '40 Ford dash, Impala wheel from Roth's Outlaw kit. Rear slicks from The Modelhaus. Fuel tank is modified Bic lighter. Scratchbuilt, woodgrained tie-down rack. Bob Dudek tailights.
  7. Royal Blue along with the red accessories.. Red & white interior.
  8. Yes I see the arrow. This is simply a mock up. There is no wheel on the other side/
  9. Dave - you haven't missed anything. I haven't built anything since early June.
  10. I saw a REAL Latham blower on a rod a couple months ago. I had NEVER seen a real one before. It was on a hemi, so I was inspired. This will be a well built, realistic, glossy painted rod. It is NOT a rat rod. Just a mock up. '41 Chevy cab channeled over a '32 Ford frame. (sounds weird but it works with very few modifications.) Shortened bed with plain sheet plastic floor. Rear axle moved back and front frame crossmember moved forward slightly for cooling fan clearance. Modelhaus slicks, '41 Chevy wheels, Bare Metal Foil trim rings. Revell Hemi from '32 Ford 5-window. Valve covers dull coated for aluminum look. Pulleys from BOB DUDEK. Headers from Reps & Mins. Latham intake was cut from integral Lincoln heads from '25 T kit and fitted to the Hemi. All linkage and fuel lines will be added after body is in place. Fuel tank is a shortened and cut down Bic lighter (unfortunately, my wife still smokes). It will be painted aluminum. Grille shell built up and modified from a Revell '36 Ford kit. BOB DUDEK aluminum dropped axle and leaf spring assy. That's it for now.
  11. I had forgotten about this '32 Ford thread. Here's the Hot Rod School bus, for you young whippersnappers who haven't seen it before. RMR resin kit. Krylon yellow. Hemi from Revell 5-window kit. Wheels are (maybe) from a Prowler with '32 Ford caps added.
  12. Looks like you had a great time. I'll have to try to get up there next year. Try to schedule it on a non-MAMA weekend.
  13. Just an FYI. The Monogram '58 & '59 Corvettes, and the HRM resin kit are 1/25th scale.

  15. Dave, the Black Widow is only for people over 60, like me.
  16. Thanks so much to all the people who, once again, worked so hard to put on the grand daddy of all NNL's. Fantastic show, as it always is. http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_car_shows_/31st-annual-toledo-nnl/
  17. Great start. Just some trivia - the Revell '60 Impala kit uses the reissued chassis from the '59 Impala. The chassis is correct EXCEPT for the spare tire well hanging down. In '60, the spare was moved into the trunk. Simple fix - just cut out the well and glue in a piece of sheet plastic.
  18. Yep. And gas to make it run cost 0.25 a gallon!
  19. I've been thinking about building a model of my first car,,,,,,,,,,for 45 years. So I've decided to start. ( I don't like to rush into things.) In 1965 I bought a '61 Ford Galaxy for $400. I no longer had to drive my mother's PINK & WHITE '60 Dodge Phoenix. Only picture I have of my '61 Ford: I'm using the AMT '61 body and chrome with most of the AMT '60 Ford parts. I cut the hood from the body. Drilled out the "promo" heradlights and glued in reflectors from an old Chevelle grille. Still have to touch up the chrome on the reflectors and add the lenses. The 292 Y-Block will come from the AMT '57 Ford. Interior side/door panels will have to be scratchbuilt as they were incorrect in the '61 kit. Wheels are from the '60 Ford mounted in tires from the AMT '62 Pontiac with painted white walls.
  20. Then came the food,,,,,,,,,,,, Lots more pics here: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-club-meetings-2010/cpmcc-meeting--annu/
  21. Shabo has (or had) these exact transfers. I don't know if you can still get them.
  22. Go to Dave Lindsay's "engine" albums. http://public.fotki.com/wackydave/cars_-_various_themes/engines/
  23. Much more here: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-club-meetings-2010/mama-meeting-7172010/
  24. I was VERY disappointed years ago when Polly-S discontinued the metallics. I have been using Citidel paints since and they are VERY similar to the old Polly-S metallics. They are in most hobby shops. They have "dungeon & dragon" type names, i.e., "bolt gun", "chainmale", etc. but they duplicate aluminum, steel, etc. I use them to paint mag wheels, headers, engine parts, etc.
