  1. Awards banquet and memorial themes month. We also show off any awards or magazine articles we may have gotten in the past year. Lots more stuff for your eyes at the link: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-club-meetings-2010/cpmcc-meeting-362010/
  2. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. TRaK is a forum for traditional rod and kustom models. No billet, big wheels, high tech engines, etc. No cars newer than 1970. http://trakinscale.proboards.com/index.cgi I figured someone had to build the TRAK logo car,,,,,,,,,,so I nominated myself. Obviously, the original artwork depicted an AMT '40 Ford, but I used a Revell '40 with a few added old AMT parts. I grafted in the deluxe grille and frenched the headlights. The flush skirts are sheet plastic. All of the flames were drawn on paper and the outline transferred to the model body and are hand painted. The Tamiya Mica Blue and the Polly Scale hand painted flames are buried in lots of polished Testors Wet Look Clear Lacquer. The chrome moon discs were used from an old Monogram kit. I just couldn't allow myself to leave the rear end up so high, as in the artwork, so I lowered the rear. Under the hood I was on my own. I built up a fairly simple flathead and used decals on the firewall that would have been used in 1962.
  4. Hundreds, thousands,,,,,,,,,,,possibly millions of MAMA members will be there.
  5. The rest of the the pics: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-club-meetings-2010/mama-meeting-2202010/
  6. I'm sorry. We already have our alotted number of Puerto Rican members. He will have to wait until 2014 to join. On another note -NO ONE can enter the meeting room until it is unlocked at 11AM. If anyone gets there well before 11, they will have to sit in their cars or in the hallways.
  7. The Black Widow kit is a 150 - not a 210
  8. I'm confused. You're disappointed in a '57 Bel Air kit because it has Bel Air trim molded to it? You can't buy a kit of a particular car and just wish that something else is in the box. If you want a 210, you can cut out the trim and replace it with plain sheet plastic, then redo the entire interior.
  9. I can't remember a MAMA meeting and a CPMCC meeting cancelled in the same winter. This global warming is a real pain !
  10. Both. Bob Dudek doesn't advertise anywhere. He just sells things at shows. The "word of mouth" advertising seems to be working for him.
  11. I've never used that center support bar. Never seen a real '32 with one.
  12. Testors Italian red and lots of clear, polished out.
  13. Revell tudor sedan, chopped 3 inches, blown Chevy 327 from an old MPC "Night Stalker" '67 Corvette kit, small block Chevy headers from Reps & Mins, detailed DUDEK moon tank and DUDEK '54 Pontiac tailights (but I think Bob calls them "50 Pontiac lights,,,,,whatever.)
  14. Just for Tommy. Hugs and kisses.
  15. Here's just SOME of Bill's handywork. Here's one of the many cars he painted a few years ago.
  16. has a picture on page 30 with several gentleman sitting at a table. The man in the middle is identified as "Bill Stillwagon". The man looks familiar to me as I'm sure I've seen him at shows, but he is definately NOT Bill Stillwagon. Just thought I'd let ya know.
  17. I was going to join but I read the rules and I refuse to wear pants AT ALL TIMES!
  18. John, If you're only concerned about building it for our NNL, we ONLY have a replica stock category, so level of detail wouldn't really matter. If, however, you are planning to enter it at some time in a judged model car contest, then BOX STOCK can only include whatever parts come in the box, with the addition of Bare Metal Foil and paint.
  19. Just put a small piece of "spark plug" wire into a drilled hole in the wheel.
  20. That's Bradleys Car Collectables. He's a kit vendor who attends our meetings and many other functions all year. CRUZ,,,,,,THANKS FOR THE PICS.
  21. Sand off most of the tread. Scuff up the side walls a bit. Use various shades of water based acrylic paints to "dirty" them up.
  22. Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Md.
  23. I call this "Macho Hispanic dude with killer dog"
  24. That wouldn't fly. Everybody knows that the model is bigger than Cruz's dog!
  25. Happy birthday Lou. The goal here, is to keep wishing each other a Happy Birthday for as long as possible.
