I picked this up a few weeks ago from our new Hobby Lobby. Lately I've really been into building prewar cars. There wasn't a whole lot to this kit but it did contain 2 complete cars. At first I bought it because of the coupe on the box top. But after I finished the frame, I started looking at the bucket body. I used the mini truck bed opposed to the turtle shell option. Mainly because I thought it would accommodate the taillights better. The body was painted with acrylic craft paint and the clear was minwax poly. The most difficult part wasn't the electronics but fishing the wires thru the base to feed the circuit. I really enjoyed building this one. I may build another one but next time have it closer to the ground I could have went all out and have crazy sounds and complete wackiness with the lights but I kept it mild and classy. The mini lights came from Amazon and the base was a wooden display box from Michael's. Showing the fan spinning here. The electronics consists of a mini Arduino, 4 lights, a buzzer for the horn, a 9v battery, jumper wires, an old remote control and of course the mini motor for the engine fan. How the sausage was made here Thanks for looking

Great build. Love the realism that you display on the underbelly

Nice pair. Great paint and attention to details

Now I can control the lights, engine and horn by remote control

Stepping up my game just a bit... added a remote start using an Arduino mini and an old remote control. 4 lights working with a 20 second shut off. Its programmable so I can make each light come on and go off at will or in any sequence. The display box is from Michaels.
