I'm rooting for you -
Wow! That's a busy engine bay. Great looking T/A

The AMT 396 70 Chevelle Pro Shop I built this about 20 years ago. If you dont know about the Pro Shop cars, they came prepainted. All you need to do is glue them together. This one was giving me that look as if to say "Its my turn for a redo!" she will get the typical makeover Like I said, everything comes prepainted. For the interior all I needed to do was add carpet and a little nose grease to the seats, door cards and dash. The black paint was a little dull so take your fingers and wipe off some grease from beside your nose, temple and forehead and apply liberally. No joke it works. Try it.

Great job so far! Love the paint and that engine is a MONSTER!

You know what? While I was tearing apart a 70 Chevelle I see that the engine is wearing the same single 4 bbl carb intake. It's the AMT ERTL flavor. The Camaro intake I used came from the parts box. It's very possible it originally came from a Chevelle kit. Hope this helps.

Oh, you're not kidding! Perfect wheels for this build! Now that the wheels are see thru drop in some flat washers on the back side

Agreed, that roof looks like glass

Interior is done. I used a bit of contact paper to take care of the wood grain pattern on the door cards.

After being sidetracked by a couple of rebuilds, I'm back on the Mercury. Got the firewall detailed up an started In on the interior. I went with white for the seats and console and black/silver for the dash and black carpet. I picked up a 4oz bag of flocking off of ebay. Not really knowing what 4 oz looks like, I was pleasantly surprised. Glad I got a bag of red too. Stay Tuned...

I think it looks good. I too am willing to try Tamiya paints but after what you are saying, I dont know. My gut says go with what you know.

Nice! Congrats for finishing on time! What did you use to darken the glass?
