  1. I noticed this months ago - the enamel Viking blue that i mixed up fr some old stock Testors enamel looks alot different in outdoor light - i think closer to the correct shade of blue - remember - the ‘64 team cars wore a different color blue than the ‘65 team cars …

The '64 Sebring race is 1 yr and 7 months short of it's 60th anniversary. And its nice to know that - short of another pandemic - the 2024 race will be a huge party - with 100,000 of your closest friends. [Insert drinking joke here]

  7. SPORTSCARDIGEST.COM CSX2287: The first Daytona ..... In the meantime, Carroll Shelby acquired funding from Goodyear and was able to buy two chassis from AC, numbered CSX2286 and CSX2287. The chassis number CSX2287 was the first completed Daytona Coupé, also the first car completely built in the United States. Ken Miles soon tested the CSX2287, recording incredible results in Riverside. Thanks to Brock’s design, the aerodynamic Daytona was faster than the King Cobra by 3.5 seconds, a huge margin on a relatively short track. At first, Ken Miles was in disbelief about the 183 MPH top speed at the straight, but after opening the differential and counting the gears, everyone on the team was certain that they had built a winner.

  9. Maybe ill borrow Vmach’s completed Daytona Coupe build pic - his glass fits and his bonnett is shut … those neat bungie cords that i installed interfere w the rear glass fit on 2287 - grrr ….
  10. C net is correct - those markings are heat sensors - sometimes also used on radiators - were these included in the kit - and are the susp arms clear-coated after you’ve applied the carbon decals ?
  11. And of course you had to fashion the reverse lockout part - is that wh metal too ?? acu-stion was one of those obscure outfits that briefly made really cool parts and then disappeared …
  12. the parts held by the tweezerz … two parts of something glued together - are they made fr alu or white metal ??? Thats some serious stuff …
  13. The wheel nuts are resin kit parts- they required some tedious cleanup - but look good with a coat of airbrushed Molotow - and the tires look better with the MFH Goodyear markings - much closer to scale - thankfully running out of parts …
  14. Gracias - The upper radiator hose is a kit part - which was fished into the opening in the air tray and glued onto the radiator …
