  1. Pretty in Pink - but i got to make it red - but which red ? I sampled 4 different reds - the two on the card are - top - Tamiya’s Italian red - the bottom is Model Master enamel Italian red - i think the Model master would be correct for the Lemans winner - but chass .0010 is a lighter red - the Shirley family went to great lengths to do an accurate representation of the Spa winner - so I’m using the Tamiya red …
  2. Haven’t painted a Ferrari in years - all the Ferrari sages on the forum prime in pink - so - got me some Tamiya pink primer …

  9. What if you tried cloth-backed sanding sheets ? They are thin and a little flexible - just choose a sheet with some texture - glue it and paint it - ive used this method to cover 24th sc racing seats - might work -
  10. Well - back then the Barchetta was only 25 yrs old - barely had whiskers - more pix please - did you use GTO kit wheels - ??
  11. Making the brass trim is slow going because the brass “work hardens” as you go - but the grill and trim are now ready for paint -
  12. A few months ago - a few pages ago - i removed the trim around the grill to correct the shape of the radiator opening - so now i’m making a new one w a strip of annealed brass … the white peices are Evergreen meant to help locate the brass strip …
  13. Did you find a way to air con your shop - or are you chased out by the heat by lunch time ? Paint finish looks good !

  16. Removing the slats from the sheet was tricky - i ended up grinding away the metal on the border next to #5 and removing 5 first - then i had room to cut the others off with a small metal clipper - without bending or damage to the other elements …

On to the grill … the photo-etch sheet containing the elements for the grill is very thick - ill measure it - very nearly scale accurate - it appears to have been made by etching top and bottom in two layers - the artwork for the photo-etch was drawn by ATL NNL forum member Jeff Edmonson - given the age of the kit - this was state of the art …
  18. Another trim peice - and the door closes in just the right position now - that was fun - now im starting to think about using these magnets to locate the chassis to the nose of the body - ala Scale Master ‘s Lola …
