  1. Can this kit be as bad as it seems?
  2. Yeah, I had my hopes up, though. Thanks, jokar.
  3. Thanks, Khils, for your consideration.  It looks like the Man in NM will have a part for me.  Thanks anyway.

  4. Ever see one? I saw a picture of the box art in an old 'Scale Auto Enthusiast' magazine. Any comments would be great. I think it is 1/25.
  5. Hey MrMopar!  Yes, here is my mailing address:  Jeff Bolthouse, 4486 Brookmere Dr. SE, Kentwood, Mich., 49512.  This is great!  I was just getting ready to try to scratch making one; by cold-bending.  Thanks

  6. Guess what, stitchdup? I figured it out! Check out my "Wanted" post. Now I think I will post some photos of my builds in the "Underglass" section. Thanks.
  7. This is probably a pretty elementary thing to be ignorant of. How is it similar to attaching a photo to an email? Thanks.
  8. Thank you very much for all this great info. I am hot-rodding a "Tom Daniel's" kit, the "Street Fighter", a '60 Chevy sedan delivery. And it needs a lot of help! Actually it is a pretty pleasant build, being actually about 1/23 scale. My last kit was a Tamiya Lotus Super Seven 1/24, more like 1/25 or 1/26. So the "Street Fighter" badly needed a larger engine, which means I will be needing to heavily modify the front suspension. Thanks again.
  9. I'd like to try my hand at making some coil-overs. Can anybody recommend a specific brand, or specification of wire? Thanks
  10. I use a "jeweler's vice" I bought from "Micro Mark". It has a large wooden handle and a small heavy adjustable vice on the end. Gently clamp the transmission in place and it holds the engine assembly very stable.
  11. Thanks for posting your build.  I am trying to adapt a NASCAR chassis to a '57 T-Bird.  I hope to use a 1/25 Ford Cammer engine.  I will need to do something like your tubular K-member to clear the big engine!  Thanks.  Wonderful build.

  12. You can get wood cigar boxes for between $3 - $5. I have 9 of them. I also use v. small zip-loc bags. And also at the 'Dollar Store', you can get shoe boxes, plastic, for $1. Each one will hold 1 complete kit.
  13. Are there any tutorials out there on this technique? What do you cut the Al sheet with? What glue? Thanks
  14. Thank you folks. Because of cost, I think I will convert a NASCAR kit, with the Roll Cage and suspension and dry sump oiling, etc. Of course I'll have to shorten the wheelbase. Again, thanks.
  15. Looking to 'scratch' a '60s-'70s era Sports Racer, like the Chaparral or McLaren or Lola or ? I can 'scratch' the monocoque component, but I need the A-arms, suspension, uprights, etc. I intend to apply this chassis to a Corvair body. I have always liked the styling of the Corvair. I have a resin kit of a 'race' V6 with transaxle. What's a good kit to start this all with ? In 1/25 or 1/24. I think it would be fun to 'scratch' the monocoque tub. (BTY, I did find the word "monocoque" in the Webster's 2 New College Dictionary.) Thanks.
  16. Yesterday, on some online channel, I think it was 'Hemmings', they had a '54 Packard, beautiful grey, 4-dr., looked restored, for $6,000. What a cool car!
  17. Thanks for posting, Cuba-13!
  18. OK, I have your street address; here's mine:  Jeff Bolthouse, 4486 Brookmere Dr. SE, Kentwood, MI  49512.  I will get your package out today or tomorrow.  Jeff

Thank you, I'll try to get mine out in a day or two.

      Thanks,
