    Thanks for posting your build.  I am trying to adapt a NASCAR chassis to a '57 T-Bird.  I hope to use a 1/25 Ford Cammer engine.  I will need to do something like your tubular K-member to clear the big engine!  Thanks.  Wonderful build.

    You can get wood cigar boxes for between $3 - $5. I have 9 of them. I also use v. small zip-loc bags. And also at the 'Dollar Store', you can get shoe boxes, plastic, for $1. Each one will hold 1 complete kit.

    Thank you folks. Because of cost, I think I will convert a NASCAR kit, with the Roll Cage and suspension and dry sump oiling, etc. Of course I'll have to shorten the wheelbase. Again, thanks.

    Looking to 'scratch' a '60s-'70s era Sports Racer, like the Chaparral or McLaren or Lola or ? I can 'scratch' the monocoque component, but I need the A-arms, suspension, uprights, etc. I intend to apply this chassis to a Corvair body. I have always liked the styling of the Corvair. I have a resin kit of a 'race' V6 with transaxle. What's a good kit to start this all with ? In 1/25 or 1/24. I think it would be fun to 'scratch' the monocoque tub. (BTY, I did find the word "monocoque" in the Webster's 2 New College Dictionary.) Thanks.

    Yesterday, on some online channel, I think it was 'Hemmings', they had a '54 Packard, beautiful grey, 4-dr., looked restored, for $6,000. What a cool car!

    Hi Paul. I see that you are interested in the Bugatti engine. I will mock up the 2 engines and see what it is going to take to transplant the RR Merlin engine. I have been looking in my house for the Merlin kit and I have not found it yet! The Merlin is a V12 or a V16? I was surprised at what a nice kit it is. I think it has 4 chrome trees! Are you quite knowledgeable about the Bug. engine? In the directions it has some interesting details on this Bug engine. If you send me you email, I will email you a copy of the instructions. Jeff

    Thank you, Richard. I bought a Lindberg Bugatti Victoria, '31, for $23.36 all in. A good price for me I think. I have a 'Rolls Royce Merlin' engine from Alan Raab. At one time he produced both the RR Merlin and the Packard Merlin, both looked substantially different from one another. Yes, I'm going to try to put it in the Bugatti. I may have to create a few 'bulges' in hood!

    Preserving emblems, so they don't get filled in with paint. Deuces ll, you lay some kind of 'aluminum foil', I don't know what kind, over the emblem and burnish it down. When done correctly, I'm told, you can then turn the foil over, and fill the cavity in the foil with a substance that will harden. Then you have a foil-casting, made of this hardened substance. Then you apply it to the model after it has been painted.
