In one of the model-car magazines they had a pretty complete article on making wire wheels. I think the article included 2 or 3 different methods. I think this article was published within the last year. If there is any interest I will search for the article.
I remember my Dad (and I) going to the Ford dealer to pick out his company car. I think I was about 14 y.o. They had one of these 7 Litre Galaxies on the show-room floor. I went 'to work' on my Dad to get him to choose this beautiful red beast! Didn't work though, but this car has always been one of my very favorite big Fords. It is styled to look not massive or large. Rather, long and lean!
I've never used these before. I guess you would wipe the tire side-wall down with a solvent. Then center the sticker. Then spray it with clear acrylic? Then dull coat it. How does that sound? Comments, anyone, please? Thanks.

Thanks alot everyone. What I ended up doing: I bought regular spark plug wire, 0.012", and their racing spark plug wire, which was 0.016". And I bought it from Detail Master.
Where do you get those real small zip-lock bags, maybe 3 or 5 inches wide? I would like to use them to seperate small parts, like fuel pumps, windshield wiper motors, ignition parts, etc. Thanks
I have a little kit, by Aoshima, of several small wings, "GT Wings", I think, but they are quite small but finely engraved. They are more than a little finicky.
Hi Matt. I have, on my hard drive, a photo of Jim Hall's (Chaparral) Trans Am '71 Camaro. It does not have the split bumper. I also have a photo of a 1/25 model of the same thing. If you send me you email address, I will send you both photos.
Thanks Ace. Presently, I am 'gun shy' of laquers, although I have never used Duplicolor. I bought some paint from the local NAPA 'paint mixer guy' to match some Mopar paint. He got the color wrong but I used it anyway. He said all the manufacturers use (some type of) enamel. Anyway, was that paint delightful to use thru my AB!!
There is a company in the UK, "Cornwall Model Boats", that makes styrene rod that is easily bendable and stays set. I've ordered some from them but have not tried it yet. I read about this on this online forum. I can say that it is not expensive at all, even considering shipping.
I too have given up on laquers because of the (inevitable?) orange peel. Acrylics thinned with acetone works very well for me. I have a Paasche H and use the medium tip. Viscosity is almost everything to me.
Hi Ace. Thanks for the response. Since this is automotive grade tape, I wonder if it would be too harsh for model paint. You know, pulling up hobby paints underneath.
I've been using this tape (I'm almost out) by 'Kamoi'. It seems like good tape: it is yellow like Tamiya and I thought it was! I went online and I can get it in Japan, but that seems expensive. Anybody know a good place to get this tape, or similar? Thanks
I use a 3M Respirator I got from a safety equipment store, paid about $35.00. They last a long time. Right now mine is letting in some paint smells, so I think I have to replace it.
When polishing out orange-peel laquer, I was thiinking of using automotive rubbing compound. I've had alot of trouble with Tamiya spray can laquer orange peel, so much so that I am presently avoiding it and using acrylic.
I think I've noticed other modelers using Duplicolor paint. Is it laquer? Does it result in orange-peel? I noticed a display in the hardware store and it sure comes in a lot of colors; and for cheap! What can you tell me?
