  5. Hey everybody, here's my version of the Revell '32 Ford 5 Window Coupe. The paint is Tamiya X-32 Titanium Silver thinned and airbrushed. I used Lazy Modeller flame masks, and airbrushed them in Createx Pearl Blue and Delta Ceramcoat Navy Metallic. I cleared with Createx UVLS 4053 High Gloss, and gave it the wet-sand, polish, and wax treatment. The interior is body color and Folkart Blue Sapphire with embossing powder painted in Apple Barrel Admiral Blue for the carpet. I also used the Admiral Blue for the roof top. I painted the kit wheels with Anita's Galvanized Tin and sprayed a couple of coats of Creratex Matte Clear on them, while the Iceman Collections BF Goodrich Street Meat tires ( 15x8 front, 15x10 rear ) were painted with Stynylrez black primer and cleared with Createx Satin Clear. I added plug wires and a machined aluminum coil from Off The Sprue to the kit engine, and cut a couple of pieces of 1/8" aluminum tubing for the exhaust tips. This was a nice, fun kit to build and I'm super happy with how it turned out. You can see a couple of progress videos on my YouTube channel, Stumpy Grump's Scale Speed Shop. As always, thanks for looking!! Oh, and the last pic is with my Revell '29 Ford Roadster.
  6. Looks good, nice paint!
  7. Great looking paint job! Very well done!
  8. I wet-sanded the body with 6000, 8000, and 12000 grit polishing pads and followed that with some Novus #2 polish. After that was a coat of Meguiar's Cleaner Wax. I'm really liking how this one looks and should have it finished up in a day or two.
  9. Very nicely done! I always thought those were cool cars and really wanted one, but never really got the chance to own one.
  10. I painted and cleared the Iceman Collections BF Goodrich Radial T/A's, and got the kit wheels painted and detailed. I also finished the interior and the suspension, so it's now a rolling chassis. I also masked and painted/cleared the soft top portion of the roof.
  11. Very nicely done!
  12. Well done! Looks great in that Blue! I'm diggin' the side pipes too!
  13. That looks fantastic! The details are incredible!
  14. If you go through the Lazy Modeller eBay store, they ship from Australia, but Iceman Collections carries about 11 different kinds and he ships from the U.S.
  15. Thanks guys! The Lazy Modeller masks are great and really make things 100 times easier!
  16. I wasn't initially going to do a WIP thread on this one, but then changed my mind. Here's a condensed version to get thing up to speed. I did the usual parts clean-up, including sanding any flash (virtually none on this one), removing mold lines (again, very little), deepening the panel lines, and washing the parts. This was followed by spraying on the Stynylrez Red/Brown Primer, only because it was the fullest bottle I had, lol. Then the parts were painted Tamiya Titanium Silver for the body and Folkart Blue Sapphire for the interior pieces. After a couple of days to dry, I very carefully applied the Lazy Modeller flame masks, although I somehow got the fenders mixed up and applied one of them just a little too far forward. Unfortunately I did not take pics of the process of applying the masks, but there is a great video on Youtube showing the process from the maker of the masks. After taping off the rest of the car, I airbrushed on the flame colors. I used Createx Pearl Blue for most of the flames with Delta Ceramcoat Navy Metallic on the flame tips. The color difference is very subtle, moreso than I would have liked, but it is there and after careful unmasking I am extremely happy with the results. I will spray the Createx High Gloss Clear on in the next few days, and also continue with the rest of the build.
  17. This is my second set of Jay's wheels. They're awesome! The flame masks worked great! I'll start a WIP thread tomorrow showing how they look. I'll also have a video on my Youtube channel, Stumpy Grump's Scale Speed Shop, showing most of my process.
  18. Earlier this month, the Mrs. let me pick out a couple of model kits at HL for an early Father's Day gift, along with a few supplies from my LHS. I also was fortunate enough to have been able to order some 3D printed parts to try out on future projects and to add to my photo background.
  19. Well done! A very classic look for this one!
  20. Looks good! Yes, I had to make an adjustment on the wheels and tires on my build of this kit as well.
